I can't even be angry or disappointed by it. Just stunned by the utter stupidity.
Worst play call in Seahawks history. Worst play call in Super Bowl history. Worst play call in NFL history since 1978 (Joe Pisarcik not taking a knee to run out the clock and losing the game on a fumble return.)
Unbelievable.

Unbelievable. Okay, so they are packed in to stop the run. Pick a pass play that fits your quarterback. That strong arm slant wasn't it.

Now, can we talk commercials?
Peta should go after about 15 other sponsors for just being idiots in their presentations rather than GO Daddy. It was absolute torture of American citizens last night. The economy is good and we had so many really bad, scary, abysmal, emotional ads.

Talk about paybacks. Dallas beats Philly on a play that went their way. Then they lost to Green Bay, who won on pure luck Then Seattle beats GB on a mismatch of bad plays by Green Bay letting them into the Super Bowl. Then Seattle loses to New England on the stupidest call from their coaches in the history of the Super Bowl. Karma....... And yet New England was the team in turmoil for two solid weeks about deflated footballs, and comes out on top.

Unbelievable. Okay, so they are packed in to stop the run. Pick a pass play that fits your quarterback. That strong arm slant wasn't it. The hidden problem was having to waste the time-out earlier. If they had two left at the one-yard line we are not having this conversation. But given that, they were going to be forced to pass on either 2nd down or 3rd down. Better to do it on second because you then still have both options remaining if you don't score. BUT NOT THAT PLAY CALL. Roll Wilson out to the right side. If he has a receiver going to the corner (preferably someone big and athletic like Willson or Matthews) throw it to him. If there is an opening, run the ball in. If the receiver is covered or you get pressured, THROW THE BALL AWAY! The ONLY thing you cannot do in that situation is throw the ball into traffic. Too many things can happen. If the receiver gets bumped or the ball goes off his hands there are six guys standing there waiting to intercept it. So of course they throw the ball into traffic. I think Wilson still should have seen the DB jump the route, and not thrown it, but I also think he should have changed the play call in the first place. Terrible call.

The other thing it reminds me of is the movie Top Gun.
Remember when Maverick and Goose are up with another pair going against Jester. All of a sudden they hear Viper's voice.... They realize, "Holy sh**! Viper's up here!" Maverick being who he is, has to go after Viper. Both the other pilot and Goose are saying, "Don't leave me (him), Maverick! You're my (his) wingman!" Maverick goes off anyway. Impresses the hell out of Viper but just can't get him. Out of the blue, they realize that Jester got back behind them and got a lock. They're finished. Goose pops up with, "The defense department regrets to inform you that your sons are dead because they were stupid."
That is the Seahawks today. "The NFL regrets to inform you that your season is dead because you were stupid."

We have to remember, Brady blew the pass in the end zone the first half. He gave a way seven points there. If he actually threw it to one of his receivers, the game might have been over at halftime. And that was all on Brady.

Brady got blasted on that throw and it got intercepted. Seattle's DB got a broken arm when tackled which forced their fourth or fifth corner into the game. That is who Brady picked on the rest of the night in the comeback. Also, there was a receiver who failed to hold onto a ball later that would have been a big play. Instead of a three-and-out the Seahawks may well have been able to go up 31-14 and it would have been over at that point. Just saying that there were several plays that made a difference all the way through the game, but it still came down to a stupid decision at the end. That one play call did in fact determine the winner and loser. And this:
is just silly. The Seahawks have not lost a game by more than nine points in three years. They are never out of a game.

have not seen anything lately, but man the trades and free agent signings are rampant today. The amount of money being offered is amazing too.
