The National Football League has spent more time investigating a situation that took place during a football game which involved football than they spent investigation a situation that had nothing to do with football except it involved one of their employees during off duty hours? I am thankful that the police have spent more time investigating the criminal activity that took place than they have investigating deflated footballs. I think we agree but I'm going to have to read again. Or are you saying the NFL shouldn't spend time investigating their employees off duty hours? They do a lot of that before suspending players for doing drugs - off duty hours. But I agree that the police should be investigating criminal acts. ... I don't think we agree. They should spend more time investigating deflated footballs than domestic violence cases. Drug use can impact on field activity. As far as the NFL "investigating", what that looks like can really differ case by case. They should do little to no independent investigation in a drunk driving arrest case and a great deal in a steroid with possible team involvement case.

It's evidently good for science, with some people arguing that the weather explains why there was the lower psi, while others arguing that science alone doesn't explain the difference.

All I know is my 2011 Chevy Malibu tires lose psi every winter after the temperature falls well below freezing. Pump them up, weather gets warm, and then when it gets cold they lose 5 to6 psi again. Very frustrating. Wondering if there is a recall on faulty stem valves

It's interesting how different people from different universities view the effects of weather, and how much effect it can have on a football. You would think there would be more of a consensus. Personally, I have a hard time believing there wasn't some sort of tampering going on...but that could be because of the history of the team. Of course the history of the team pushing the limits of rules is what made Belichick's comment about staying far away from grey areas so funny.

DEFLATEGATE!
Well, we have a week to go, and still it all about the football rather than the game.
Right now, I will go Seattle 24 New England 18
Despite all the ball problems, I believe the game will be called rather hard against New England, (this will be the real penalty the NFL will enforce) and any and all close calls will not favor New England. There will not be enough red flags for New England coach to throw for review.
If the NFL comes out before the game next Sunday, and says all was ok, I would be shocked to no end. Most Of America would not accept this. I might have to re-think the score. I am amazed how many people are picking New England.
Of course, they were predicting a close game last year too.

No way can a Russell Wilson lead time beat a team lead by a Super Bowl winning quarterback like Eli Manning Peyton Manning Drew Brees Aaron Rodgers Tom Brady. wait 10 and ZERO.

I got decent numbers for the 100 square pool I'm in. I'm not sure who to cheer be ok with winning this year.

And Wilson did not beat Aaron Rodgers last week. Green Bay made the fatal mistake of not playing to lose.

Yep, Coach M has a history of that. <Beth slinks off to curse some as she's still not completely over the loss.>

I think one thing Wilson provides that is essential to Seahawk success is absurd optimism. Yes, the Packers worked hard to give it away but the Seahawks could easily have just given up following that interception with five minutes left. Hell, I was surprised they didn't do it when Green Bay kicked the field goal to go up by 12 with under eleven minutes left. Or when Green Bay stopped the offense and got the ball back with seven minutes.

But, hey! At least they fired the special-teams coach, so things have to be looking up, right?

At least I finally got the NBC live stream to play. It only took 45 minutes, just in time to see the last two minutes!
Of course the score and time around the video updated more often so I knew who won before the video finished which actually is still in progress...

The greatest wrong play call of all time! Lynch up the middle is an absolute no brainer, or even a Wilson roll out to the left, and walk in the end zone. At least the Pats did not lose again on a hail Mary to get Seahawks to that position.

Now, can we talk commercials?
Peta should go after about 15 other sponsors for just being idiots in their presentations rather than GO Daddy. It was absolute torture of American citizens last night. The economy is good and we had so many really bad, scary, abysmal, emotional ads.

Quick pass into the end zone/throw away if not there on third. Roll/pass option on forth if necessary.

I have to give the Pats credit, the first nine days they had to deal with deflategate Brady is the first quarterback to ever throw 50 passes in a Super Bowl game and actually win. Granted, the four others were behind and HAD TO THROW THE BALL to try and catch up, but Brady was also down 10 points against the number ranked defense in the league Seattle's defense was not "bad" just not where it has been for 10 weeks of the season. IMO, a great game. You simply could not know who was going to win this one at any point in the game. One of the best intensive games I can remember.
What I think is great, is the defensive back that won the game with the interception was also who broke up the Hail Mary catch that wound up being caught anyway, and put Seattle on the four yard line. I imagine he thought he "lost the game" for a whole 25 seconds before the interception. He also is from a small school and I believe was a non-drafted player.

I had the scary feeling I would lose television service all day of the game. Our internet and phone service died in the morning, but still had cable tv. I was imagining losing television all day due to the snow storm. Imagine my chagrine when the they switched to commercial at the beginning of the game, and the ad started and I "lost the signal and the screen went fuzzy and black". I and about 75 million male Americans were having heart palpitations about that time. Thank you Chevrolet, for the gotcha moment of the game! We have Comcast triple play.

Agree it was a great game. Tough to swallow the result watching it in my 12th Man sweatshirt, but it was a good game. If someone had to get the interception , it was cool the one who did get it.

Had me for a second but the give-a-away was the closed roof. Should have filmed two versions and been ready to use the appropriate one.
