The Sporting News one is particularly interesting since the quarterbacks were ranked in several areas. Accuracy, Pocket presence, Arm strength, Mobility, Decision making, Clutchness, Toughness, and Intangibles. What is interesting to me as a Seahawks fan is how highly Russell Wilson is ranked over those who have been around a lot longer. That kid is amazing at times, and doesn't get nearly as much respect from most fans as he should.
Regardless, though, the only thing I recall saying about the subject of "elite" quarterbacks is that Rodgers IS and Flacco ISN'T. Who cares who they say is elite? Plenty of elite QB's are going to be on their couch this weekend. Since you do seem to care, Wilson isn't elite either.
I'd rather have a very good QB who is clutch than elite.

He may be the highest paid QB in the NFL this year because the Bears are stupid but he's a bad QB. His skills and his attitude suck. But hey if I was getting paid $20 million a year I probably wouldn't care what people said about me

However, he is getting paid like the big boys!
He is another reason I'm so grateful to have a QB like Flacco.

My picks this weekend
Baltimore 21 New England 31 Flacco performs well, but cannot play defense too.
Carolina 17 Seattle 24 Wilson is not contained by Carolina defense
Dallas 19 Romo has trouble putting it in the end zone Green Bay 24 It's at Green Bay, and just cold enough
Indianapolis 24 Indy defense not strong enough Denver 31 Manning shows he should still be in Indy.
I might have two of the games wrong I am thinking New England and Seattle may be in trouble

Predictions:
New England by 3.
Dallas upsets Green Bay.
Seahawks win by a touchdown.
Denver by only 3 (it will be close).
I hope I'm wrong!

I'd rather have a very good QB who is clutch than elite.
First, I never said he was, although he is putting himself into the conversation in only his THIRD season. One SB win already with a pretty good chance to make it two. Tied Peyton Manning's NFL record for most TD passes by a rookie even though the Seahawks probably throw the ball less than any other team, and are the #1 rushing team in the league this year. And by the way, Wilson had ten interceptions that season. Manning had 28 in his.
Set the record for most wins by a QB in his first three seasons. And his WORST touchdown/interception ratio is 26-10. Flacco's BEST in his career is 25-10. Flacco had 22 interceptions in 2013 alone. Wilson has 26 in three years. The worst passer rating of Wilson's career is also higher than the best of Flacco's career. Wilson had 849 rushing yards and six TD's this season. Flacco has 631 rushing yards in his career. And referring back to the Sporting News rankings, Wilson is also rated more "clutch" than Flacco, with one person placing him first overall in that category.
But yeah, I can see why you would prefer Flacco. He is, after all, the best quarterback to come out of Delaware. Probably. Maybe.

New England maybe, because Baltimore plays them well. Not Seattle though. Carolina has played them tough the last few years, but the Seahawks won all three against them the last three years, and all on the road. Carolina has never won in Seattle and the only time they were here with this much on the line they got blown out, 34-14 in the 2006 NFC championship game. Nor do they have anyone who has been through this type of game. On top of that, their best run-stopper is out, while Seattle gets their Pro Bowl center back for this game. And they just don't have enough weapons to score a lot on the #1 defense in the league.
The first half should be a tough, close game. By the second possession of the third quarter the Seahawks should start to stretch it out. I'll say 27-13.

I know I picked New England, but Brady sometimes disappoints me. And Flacco in the play offs plays above normal expectations, and Ravens defense does still show up sometimes.
I know I picked Seattle to win. BUT, if Carolina's defense shows up, Wilson could be in trouble. IF they can contain his break out runs, they can defend against his passing game. I know it is a big BUT and IF but you just never know......

14-10 first half in a mostly defensive struggle. Midway through the third quarter, Seahawks hold the ball for 6:32 and kick a field goal. Next drive is a touchdown, then a defensive touchdown, and then the last time they got the ball they were at the Carolina 14 before taking a knee three times to end it. Went from 14-10 to 31-10, before the Seahawks end up winning by 14. Not a bad day, but who could have seen it unfold that way? Wait a minute.... Seems to me I read something similar earlier. Hmmm, who was it?
Oh yeah, it was me!

Me too. Definitely. That is why I'm so glad the Seahawks have Russell Wilson. In a playoff game with the pressure of being the defending champions he goes eight-for-eight on third down for 199 yards and three touchdowns. Contrast that with someone in the earlier game who threw two horrible lob-the-ball-up-and-hope interceptions that cost his team the game.

Well, Denver sure did not show up on either side of the ball. Manning has not looked that bad since the Super Bowl last year. Any pass 15 yards out was way off the mark. Not even close
Watching Green Bay yesterday, I started rooting for Dallas. Rodgers looked so hurt, I figured he would have no chance against Seattle's defense, so I thought Dallas would give a better fight his Sunday.

Aaron did play better in the 2n half. Not sure why. But I hope he keeps on healing - FAST. We're overdue for a win in Seattle. I'd love it to come next week but I'm doubtful.

My DH is assuming that the lack of mobility in the first half was ordered by Coach. And after halftime, they either pumped him full of drugs or Aaron decided winning meant he needed to be more mobile. Yeah, I didn't get to see a whole lot of the other games, the kids needed/wanted attention (we chased them into the basement for most of the Packer game.
