Everyone has great updates! Way to go everyone! I am steering clear of the scale for a while. The scale has been unkind despite all my efforts. I am letting it get to me, so I am focusing on food and getting in all my vegetables and eating well and working out. Progress will come and I can't get discouraged by the scale having a mind of its own!

sarcasticgirl - huh, interesting relevation from the fitbit! If my memory serves me (and it might not so correct me if I'm wrong) you work a TON. During the times when I have a ton happening at work, I toss and turn like mad. Do you think your work stress and the restlessness might be related? You aren't moving backward with the weight....silver lining! You'll find your groove. Yes, you are correct. I work a lot. I am under quite a bit of stress at the moment, so that could very well be it. Thanks for pointing that out. I need to destress any hopefully I will sleep better!

I am impressed with all the good work. Keep up the good work everyone.
While I managed to get in at least 5,000 steps a day my eating habits were not good.
Below are this weeks goals: At least 5,000 steps a day
Try to curb stress eating.
Increase water intake.

pat- you should try to lightly sautee fresh spinach or arugula in a pan, then top with a tiny bit of crumbled blue cheese and some sliced pears. If I can get a tad of blue cheese and pear in most bites I can eat a lot of cooked greens that way. Sometimes I top it with a splash of balsamic vinegar too. I can eat that alone for lunch or pair with baked fish for dinner.
I got my walk in with the dogs and DH this morning. We just did 3 miles, but that might have been the push I needed to start being consistent again. I'm also going to do some yoga before bed. Nothing strenuous just something about 30 minutes to stretch and relax. Tomorrow I have to walk and lift weights, and hopefully I can get in some more yoga.

Keep up the good work, everybody! Looks like lots of us are trying different things until we find what works for us sustainably. Here's last week's summary: - Minimum of 5 hours of cardio per week averaging medium to medium-high intensity
- 2 strength focused days per week
- 4 yoga and/or meditation days per week
- 100% booze free
- Eat reasonably - could have been a lot worse, could have been better. The scale seems to be moving in the right direction so I can't complain too much.
Next week's plan:100% booze free Mon: elliptical (15 min); erg (45 min); abs, push-ups, hip exercises; stretch, foam roll Tue: yoga in PM Wed: arc trainer (30 min); zen bootcamp Thu: erg (25 min); vinyasa Fri: elliptical (15 min), run (36 min); stretch, foam roll Sat: light cardio (30 min); Damage Control; Restorative yoga Sun: swim (45 min); vinyasa Happy, productive, healthy week everybody!

I had shingles about a year and a half ago ~ ouch. Foods high in the amino acid arginine tend to promote the growth of the shingles virus, reports WholeHealth Chicago, an integrative medicine center. Especially problematic are foods that are high in arginine and low in lysine, an amino acid that helps balance arginine in the body. During an outbreak, avoid nuts and seeds, soy foods, chocolate, oats, wheat germ, coconut, carob, whole-wheat and white flour, and gelatin. Be sure to incorporate plenty of citrus fruits, pineapple, mango, leafy greens and tomatoes into your meals, both to prevent shingles outbreaks and to help lessen their severity.

One week into my weight training and I haven't gotten hurt or given up. I have learned more of the weight machines at the fitness center and bought a couple small items to use at home.
I always start out head strong and think I will follow it through but always end up falling off the wagon. This time I am going to give it my best shot and not give up.

Well, I walked 3 miles this morning with a couple of jogging bursts in the middle to finish quicker. I plan to do some yoga tonight.

I weighed myself today and I am still 182.2 like I was the last time (I think the 10th). But if I am being honest with myself I haven't really been trying with my diet, though my birthday and DH's were both in the last 2 weeks. I've just felt too good about keeping up with my exercise. I am proud of keeping up with the exercise, but I know it takes a lot more work that that. So hopefully by the end of the month I will be in the 170s.

After a restless night, I managed to get a work out in this morning. Maybe not quite the intensity I had hoped for, but I got 35 minutes on the elliptical. I'm going to have an 11 day at work, so I'm very glad I rolled out of bed instead of snuggling in when the alarm went off. Now, if I can just avoid the crappy food being served at tonight's event, I'll be golden

Worked until 8:30pm last night... Felt crappy had soup and bread for dinner, only 8k steps, no stretching. Today was a shit show at work. I stress ate during the day... We ordered Indian food at the office tonight and worked until 8. I am sitting here with a glass of wine trying to convince myself to at least stretch. Only 8k steps. The fact that I made it through the day without anything getting punches in the face makes this day a win... Despite any failure at my other goals.

Fitbit says I'm averaging about 6.5 hours of sleep a night and having restless periods of 15 to 20 times a night. Good reason I'm dragging in the morning! I've been throwing all sorts of stuff in the Vitamix to juice. Most of it tastes okay. I haven't ingested so many veggies in years! I've cleaned out both crisper drawers and have gone through a huge bag of carrots. Wondering if my skin will turn orange after all. If it does I'll just say I got a bad spray tan for winter.

I am restless 20+ times a night usually for about 300 minutes! I am in bed 8-9 hours, usually have no issue falling asleep, but apparently I sleep like shit Sent from my HTC One_M8 using proboards

Hi ladies! Checking in! This morning I was down the most since 1/1/15, 7.6lbs! Not going as quickly as I would like, but still happy it is going in the right direction. 8 more days in the month...I would like to be down 2.4 more lbs if possible to make my monthly goal of 10lbs. I know if I really focused I could do it! I am officially OFF of pop! Feels great to not be so dependent on something! I still crave it a lot, but I don't NEED it. I am drinking roughly a gallon of water everday. I use the little squeezy flavors to add a little something to it. Otherwise still doing ok/good with food and still doing terrible with working out. Need to get my butt in gear. Sarcastic I love the idea of weekly goals, I think that would help me a lot getting started on a workout plan. I will try to make a plan this weekend. Work is extremely overwhelming right now, so that also hinders me (EXCUSES!). Today my boss brought 2 boxes of AMAZING looking donuts. They are on the desk right in front of mine....staring at me.....b*st*rds! She also brought oranges, bananas and drinks. So over the course of my 10 hrs at work I had 2 clemintines, 2 bananas, and a glass of V8. If that isn't a win, I don't know what is! At one time I thought, well, I could have 1/2 of a donut....but I fought it and and I won! This weekend I will be out of town so will be hard, probably LOTS of drinks....I am going to focus as much as I can...I REALLY want to make my monthly goal! Banker Gurl 185.2lbs (192.8lbs 1/1/15) = Down 7.6lbs Goal Weight = 140lbs

If this work day could just end already, that'd be nice. All sorts of crap going on, 1 problem I had to fix was of my own making. I barely had time for lunch, though at least what I did eat was healthy: chicken, avocado, rice and black beans. With a side of whole grain bread. Seriously, though, all I want to do is go home, have a drink or 3, and eat cake. Lucky for me, my DH did not buy cake at the store. Instead he bought healthy chicken, hummus, veggies, eggs, and a few other odds and ends.
Hopefully we can go for a walk tonight. I didn't get home from work until after 8 last night and by the time I settled down to go to bed, and actually fell asleep it was close to midnight. So I just couldn't drag myself out of bed for a 5:30am work out today. BUT, I'll hit 10k steps if we can get a walk in.
Seriously. Next week has to be better.

This morning at WW I'm still under my goal by a couple of pounds which is where I want to be. My goal allows for a few pound cushion for life's ups and downs. I'm still in 1st place with the two challenges at the gym. I'm hoping that I can stay in the lead and win at least one of them. These are the 6th and 7th challenge I've participated it so a win would be cool. The folks in 2nd, 3rd and 4th are close behind so I'm not finding more room in the trophy case just yet.

Is anyone here on the Trim Healthy Mama diet? I've been reading the book and talking to DH and I think we are going to start it together. Its a plan we can adapt for the kiddos too.
