Your puppy is adorable Chiver. I was debating whether to get a dog or another cat this past Christmas. I got a another cat but he acts like a dog so I guess I got the best of both worlds. And scrgrl47, this is the mini-trampoline/jogger I bought from Amazon smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B008S8XMYC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1So today I did the jogger for 3 whole minutes (considering that I haven't ran/jogged in decades I thought that was great.) I also did five minutes on the stepper, ten minutes on the rowing machine and 30 minutes on the exercise bike. The rower did me in though and now I am very sore and strained a muscle. I will skip the rower tomorrow and try for a lesser time on Wednesday.

Ugh I just wrote some whole post but hit a wrong button and it all disappeared. Need to get to bed so I don't have a repeat of this morning so here's a summary: - Chiver - OMG PUPPY, WANT. Also, awesome house with a ton of natural light, you're going to be so happy in that sanctuary
- Clexie - does that thing come with a 10-pack of ambulance vouchers?
- Sug - glad you're on the mend
My deal: - Couldn't fall asleep till way late
- Woke up a few hours later, cat had barfed and peed on the rug
- Turned light on, cleaned
- Turned light off, tossed and turned worrying about furbabies
- Fell asleep, dreamed about doing an obstacle course that turned into a flood, woke up scared
- Did the 'nope nope nope' to my alarm at 5:30am
- Food - don't even want to talk about it. Let's just say I'm vacuuming out the pantry of decadent holiday goodies. it's done now.
[/ol][/ul] Tomorrow is a new day and it's going to be a great one. Good luck, everybody!

Chive- what a cute house and a nice spacious kitchen!!! Love it!
Scr- we all have those days now and then... But you have the right attitude. Pick yourself up and move right along! Hope the kitty is okay
Super annoyed today when I hopped on the scale and I am up several pounds. But I am pmsing and bloated and I am blaming that. Also, I have been eating too much salt lately... Need to get that under control, which will help get rid of the water weight. On track for some cardio and strength tonight. And lots of stretching

scr - yesterday was definitely a Monday, that's for sure. -I woke up at 245 to take the pup out. my alarm was set for 4, so I ended up just staying awake when we came back in the house. -got the pup up, car packed up, and got on the road to my parents' house by 5. for a number of reasons, the pup is staying with them until I get back from vacation. I'm going to split my nights between their house and where I'm currently crashing. -got to my parents house about 615, got the pup settled - including showing mom where there's a scab over a tick bite that needs watching. showered there, dressed and left for work around 7. -left work a little after 4 to go meet someone to buy a couple baby gates for the new place. girl never shows up, I leave all pissed off and get stuck in miserable traffic. takes me forever to get home. -get home at almost 7. poured myself 2 cosmos between then and when I went to bed around 11. this morning, I felt like I closed the damn bar. finally made it to work around 930, only to realize that I'm likely heading back to my sister's house tonight instead of my parents' b/c I left some important paperwork that I have to scan and send to my mortgage broker - in an envelope on my bed. I haven't been back down to the car to check, but I don't expect it to be there. I couldn't get out of my own way this morning, just in a complete haze today. so once I brave the cold and confirm I left the paperwork on my bed, I'll plan to go play with my puppy over lunch today so I can see her, and then head back out past Worcester to my sister's place tonight. not how I expected today to go. have I mentioned yet that I CAN'T WAIT FOR VACATION ?!

scrgrl47 - heh, I don't have kids now and my husband is too heavy to use it so it's just me. But it is a lot of fun! I did four minutes today on that. I also did the stepper again today (I'm more afraid of falling off this than the trampoline,) and did 30 minutes on the bike.
But my weight was up today for no apparent reason. I seem to be stuck in a plateau lately and keep bouncing up and down but not much total loss for the past few months. That's why I joined up - for the encouragement and motivation. But my workout will get cut short tomorrow since we have to take a car in for repair and I have a class on Thursdays to finally finish up my bachelor's degree (last class woohoo!) so that means I have to get to work earlier to make up for leaving early. I'm not a morning person.

chiver78 - this is probably no consolation but the descriptive language you used to describe your absolute crap day(s) had me lol'ing. Days don't get much worse than that (save for major health or accident issues). You'll wake up tomorrow and will be one day closer to vacation, wohoo :-) In the meantime, seltzer and lime clexie - congrats on the bachelors, that's a huge accomplishment. Don't worry about the 1-day weight increase. One-day fluctuations, and even intra-day fluctuations, will drive you crazy. Don't get discouraged, just keep up as much exercise as you can get into your abbreviated schedule and pay closer attention to your food/drink intake tomorrow than you might on a heavy cardio day. "They" say that weight loss is 80% diet and 20% exercise. UGH. My day was a vast improvement over yesterday. The kitties both ate and used the litterbox and acted completely normal. So, . Cats, I guess. My gym buddy (who lives in my building and is smoking hot but has a girlfriend and we aren't going to talk about him anymore) met me down in the lobby early and did my rowing routine with me. I got a little competitive which means that 54 minutes of active rowing was HARD. Wohoo. Got in my hip exercises, abs, some pushups, and stretching. I also signed up for 6 weeks of tuesday yoga classes offered at my work so I added something that was not on the list. The food has been decent today. This going back to work and getting back into the routine is so brutal the first week. I actually did the head nod at my desk around 3pm today. #classyworkinggirl Overall, this one gets a big strikethrough on the list! Off to bed because I have a headache and my eyes want to shut. Happy, productive tomorrows!

My lifetime goal to obtain better health and eating habits, is to maintain a 'take it one day at a time' mindset. It keeps me from feeling like a failure if & when I've failed.

clexie - yay for seeing the end of the line! good luck with this last class, you got this! scrgrl47 - it's not much consolation, but I'm happy I was able to brighten someone else's day. mine got better when I needed well over an hour and a half to get home. ugh. but the silver lining is that I was able to get to my parents' house to play with the pup over lunch. I walked in the house and she basically tackled me I'll be there tomorrow night, totally looking forward to puppy kisses! as for myself, today I skipped breakfast since I got to work so late, and had a big chicken caesar wrap for lunch. I had a couple handfuls of parmesan goldfish crackers for a pm snack at the office, and then had the end of my Chinese chicken veggie noodle bowl (yesterday's lunch) for dinner once I finally got home. I'm nursing sauv blanc glass #3 with some homemade croutons for a crunch, I'll be in bed before the end of this L&O episode.

Here are my plans for meeting my fitness goals! *I will be working out a MINIMUM of 2 days a week at the gym and 1 day a week at home/outside. (It's hard to get in a lot of gym days since I spend an average of 2-4 days a week out of town at BFs place). *I currently drink a minimum of 2 cans of Coke per day, often times more then that. Starting 1/1/15 I will be weaning myself off (I am not quitting cold turkey because I get awful caffeine headaches). I am initially going to be starting by stopping pop at home and going out to eat, and also reducing my 2 cans at work down to 1. I think I will do that for about a week or so and then go down to just 1 mini can (6oz) at work for about a week and after that I should be able to get by with NONE! *Goal of drinking a gallon of water a day, which would be 4, 32oz Powerade bottles worth. I am TERRIBLE at drinking anything but pop, so need to make that a priority. *I got out a notebook to track my weight, eating and excercise. *BF and I are starting a new Diet Bet online for 1/1/15. Making money motivates me a LOT, so that will be a good extra kick in the butt! *BF got $250 in Mastercard giftcards for Christmas and we are going to go in together to buy an elliptical for his place so I have options to workout there (too cold outside, currently -23 today with windchill!) I am ready for 2015!!! ______________________________________________________________________ Here is how I was doing after 5 days: Well it's only day 5, but so far so good on New Year's Goals! *Tracking my food and drinks is going well as well, always eye opening to see how many things go into your mouth! *Water consumption has increased about 80%! *Pop consumption has gone down by over 50% and I am feeling great about it and already seeing a sharp decrease in my Coke cravings. *My two week goal was to lose 5lbs, and I was already down 5lbs yesterday! (after only 4 days!!) (This made me SUPER happy! ) *I allow myself one "treat" per week (that means no tootsie rolls, no cookies, no Christmas treats, no sweets AT ALL, except one chosen treat per week). Thus far that is going good, I chose a chocolate shake for my treat last week. I have not had my treat for this week yet, and in only 5 days I have already said no to Frooties, donuts, chocolate milk and cupcakes already! Feeling proud of that! *GYM - I have been out of town everyday except one so far this year, so have not made it to the gym yet , but planning 3 days this week. ______________________________________________________________________ And how I am doing today: *Pop - Going GREAT! I am having my one can per day, cravings are down drastically. I used to start drinking pop right away in the morning when I got to work, I now can easily wait till lunch or later with no problems. I am switching to mini cans (6oz) on Monday, and after a week of that I am off it completely at work, home, and eating out. It will now be a "treat" drink if I go to a movie, road trip, etc. *I have been drinking TONS of water since 1/1/15, but hadn't been able to meet my goal yet of 1 gallon total for a day. Yesterday I finally succeeded! I have been using (2) 32oz Powerade bottles that I just keep refilling and switching out of the fridge, that is working really well for me, I also got some Minute Maid and Crystal Light drops which really help me increase the speed/volume of my consumption. *Eating - Still doing well at logging my food, and staying away from treats. Also happy with my portion control for the most part. Yesterday after the gym I went to the grocery store and got skim milk, orange juice, cottage cheese, and bananas. Also got myself 2 "treats", broccoli salad and 1 Noosa yogurt. Both of those are SOOOO yummy, but not too terrible for me. So a good "cheat". *Finally made it to the gym yesterday. Making it there was a win, but the actual workout I would consider a loser....lol. I just had no motivation or stamina. It is currently 0 degrees outside here (ND) and I just feeling cold/tired/worn out. Need to get a better attitude towards the gym. I did do 30 mins on the treadmill, ran about 7 of those. Then walked some, also did incline with weights and lunges. Oh well, it is a start! Going to the gym again today. Really need to get into an ab routine as that is my personal problem area.

It's embarassing but I need to get my weight out here and get serious. Luckily I hold my weight very well (and a lot of b**b...lol ), but really need to get some of this off of me just so I feel better about myself. 1/1/15 192.8lbs 1/4/15 187.8lbs - Down 5lbs! I purposely left my scale at my BF's house (an hour away) so that I wouldn't binge weigh myself...I am bad at that! So not sure how I am doing this week...I am hoping to be under 186 by the time I see my scale again (Friday evening). We are going on a trip the 2nd week of March and my goal is to be down 5lbs every 2 weeks till then = -20lbs. So far I am doing good, but it's always easier at the beginning. Hoping the no pop will make a BIG difference! Banker Gurl 187.8lbs (192.8lbs 1/1/15) = Down 5lbs Goal = 140lbs
- 1lb - 5lbs - 10lbs - 20lbs - 25lbs - Victory!

Well, so far this year, I'm following my loosely put together plan of add one day of running and one day of strength training to my weekly routine. As we are only officially 7 days in, I'm going to count this as a win It is so cold here, and the heat went out in our apartment last night, so I got up and worked out this morning because I knew I'd warm up!! Whatever-I'll take motivation in any form these days! My weight is holding steady, so now time to focus on toning up! Beyond the exercising, I really want to focus on eating healthy. My weight is influenced heavily by what I eat and the healthier I keep my diet, the better I feel. However, when their are baked goods at work every other day, and my DH influencing me at home to eat more than I want/need, it's a struggle! I just would like to be healthier overall and I think eating more fruits/veggies, more fish, more "good for me" things, I'll feel better.

...saunters in and waves.
I am still meandering around
I have lost weight and am off of all of my diabetes meds. I still have more weight to lose but am not allowed to exercise for another week thanks to bronchitis
I am on winter break from school and still working full time.
Mr. Bear moved to Colorado and I won't be seeing him anymore. He has hepatitis caused by alcoholism and does not want me to see him "like that"
I have a couple of 5Ks planned for this year.
My big fitness purchase was to get myself a kitchen aid stand mixer for Christmas so I can cook more stuff from scratch
I miss everyone

Welcome back-Miz!!! You have been missed! And welcome bankergirl! You sound like you have a solid plan!
11k steps for me. And I had chocolate before 10am. It was a hellacious day for me at work... I ended up working from 7:45 am until 8:00pm. I had a Dr. Appt in the middle to break it up. I got my steps in and 30 " very active" fit bit minutes, so I accepted that as good enough since I got home late tonight. My shoulders are sore and I had a brutal session of cupping and a rough clavical adjustment, so weights just weren't in the cards tonight. Tomorrow, tomorrow!

I've been sick for the last week, but still working out. I just lowered the weights some in order to be able to get through it all. I'm actually starting to feel a little better today, and I got out of my PJs and cleaned myself up. Once I get back to 100% I am going to start cardio again.

Had a very yummy and super low calorie supper last night. I had a lot to do, so after the gym (I did 30 hard mins on the elliptical), I just made a can of Healthy Choice Soup. Chicken noodle with rice, and then I added half a can of green beans, and half a can of corn. I was not very excited about it.....but it was delicious! Very yummy and so nice to have something warm (we never got above 0 here yesterday!). So tonight I think I will have the same thing since I have the other 1/2 cans of veggies to use up. The soup is only 110 calories for the whole can, which was very filling and lots of good veggies in my tummy. I also made 2 days in a row with drinking 1 gallon of water per day! Excited to see my scale on Friday and see how I am doing! Banker Gurl 187.8lbs (192.8lbs 1/1/15) = Down 5lbs Goal Weight = 140lbs

This cold weather is getting to me and I am dying for soup! I plan to make a bunch this weekend and freeze it in individual portions. It is such an easy way for me to get veggies in, because i love just about anything in a soup (except greens- SLIMEY- ICK!) I found a fish monger in our neighborhood and am excited to be hitting up the fish market this weekend. I have such a hard time finding good seafood (something I certainly miss from growing up in Houston) but I have high hopes and will be trying to incorporate seafood in at least 1 meal a week. It may take some tweaking in our grocery budget but totally worth it!
My DH seems to be ready to drop some pounds as well now. He's hopped on the elliptical twice this week and he sent me some spread sheet yesterday with these weight-loss charts etc. He seems serious, so it is all the more motivation for me to stick with it so we can do it together!
I am going to make a game plan for food prepping and menu planning this weekend. Also- my new fitbit ChargeHR shipped today- YAY! and I will be giving DH my current fitbit.

@heart2heart - wonderful advice. You might need to stop back every other day and remind us all of that :-) sarcasticgirl - almost done w/ TOM? Why can't it just do its thing and not disrupt half our other bodily systems? Nice on the 13k of steps Tuesday and 11k yesterday. Not sure what a cupping and rough clavical adjustment are but they both sound like mid-evil torture devices. Tomorrow :-) Good fish mooonnngggeeerrrr <<drool>>. You hold onto him/her tight! Awesome that DH is on board, that makes everything so much easier. bankergurl - those are 3 tough goals but knowing how you plow through financial goals, no doubt YOU GOT THIS, GURL. Don't be embarrassed about your weight, whatever it is. Everyone starts at one weight or another. If it makes you feel any better, I'm right with you in the 180's (sans a lot of b**b!). --You have an excellent Coke reduction plan already but throwing a totally different idea at you - for the caffeine, can you switch to 1 cup of coffee w/ 1t of sugar as you ratchet down the Coke usage? Many fewer calories without the withdrawal. --If you're a fan of seeing results in graphical format, SparkPeople has a pretty good website for tracking weight, food, and exercise. Their online support system is pretty good too (although, you have us now!) --DietBets are great, even though I gave them 2 rounds of money last year, grr. That's on me, not them. Good luck, let us know how that one is going! --CONGRATS on making so much progress in 5 days as well as getting your H20 in!! Keep up the good work. Also, if you're counting broccoli salad as a treat item, I'm eating 98% treats and 2% real food.... Jaguar - what does eating better and moving your ass look like to you, if you were to break it down further? flamingo - ditto on the importance of the food intake. Wish the exercise were more important (cause I love that part!) but alas. What's your plan on resisting temptations and eating more healthy? mizbear - congratulations, that's incredible about your weight loss and elimination of meds. And probably most importantly (hee hee), the Kitchen Aid! Sorry to hear about Mr. Bear, that's too bad on multiple levels. bobosensei - nice job pushing through it and glad you're starting to feel better. Take care of you, don't push too hard! I had a great Wednesday and met my goal of 30 min elliptical and Zen bootcamp (which kicked my a$$ ridiculously hard). The food was pretty decent except I got a hold of the leftover, and previously forgotten about, peppermint chocolate I made before Christmas. Sigh. It's gone now so don't have to worry about eating any more of it! This am, I got 15 hard minutes on the Arc trainer which seems to hurt way more than the elliptical (may just be a personal experience to my body only, not sure?) and a Vinyasa class. Which also kicked my a$$. My hamstrings and quads are both completely destroyed right now. The 2-mile round trip walk to work in the freezing cold actually seems to be preventing my body from getting too stiff. Lots of getting my a$$ kicked recently. Tomorrow, my workout plan is out the window because I have a doctor's appointment that didn't make it onto my calendar. Thank goodness for automated appointment reminders these days. Anyway, I'll fit that run in sometime before Monday am. Probably good timing since these legs need a day of recovery. 2015, woo!!

scrgrl47: As for resisting temptations, I'm just not sure. However, my DH is trying to resist temptation too, so that helps. And, I don't believe in denying myself too much. So, if I can get more fruits and veggies at each meal, I won't feel bad for having one cookie for dessert. The problem is I eat regular meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks) but my DH does not. He will eat breakfast, then have nothing but a handful of chips until dinner. So then after dinner (which is usually decently healthy and filling) he goes on a "feeding frenzy". And if he has a bowl of chips, I'm like, sure I should have some too, let me share. This is what I have to work on.
However, I'm super competitive, so if my DH is not eating sweets, I won't either; if he's eating super healthy, then I can eat even healthier! I know, it's not really a competition, but sometimes, I have to go with whatever works.

I only did minimal body weight exercises yesterday and 1/2 hour on the bike today. Schedule got all mixed up. Hopefully will be able to do more tomorrow. Weight is going in the wrong direction but I think I'm bloated - had a bad stomach ache the past two days (but no other symptoms.)

BF came to town last night for an unplanned visit cause he missed me. What a sweetie! This was great cause I got to see him, AND I got to see the scale! I was down to 186.2 (6.6lbs down) but that was before dinner, and we went out to eat. We went to Famous Daves, I got a grilled chicken sandwich, which I only ate half of, and then had broccoli for my side, and water for my drink. I did awesome didn't I?! And then on the way home we got Taco Bell. YUP> You read that right! They have some little $1 dealies right now that I have been dying to try and apparently so was BF....so I got one of those, which are little, but still...really you went to Taco Bell on your way home from dinner! (HEADSLAP) Well aside from that stupid, impulse (which BTW wasn't even that good). This morning I was at 186.8, so I using that for my official weigh-in since I would like to keep them at the same time of day. Down 6lbs in 9 days, can't complain about that! Banker Gurl 186.8lbs (192.8lbs 1/1/15) = Down 6lbs Goal Weight = 140lbs

Congrats on the loss banker!
Flamingos- I am the same way with competition. LOL but I just do it secretly and don't tell DH.
This week is a wash. I didn't have things planned... My uterus has been in control. I have been getting in my veggies nd fruits... But I have been a bottomless pit with additional snack. And salt! I will spend the next week getting this water weight off! I am working on menu planning now. Planning and prepping makes life so much easier. So DH and I will get everything planned out , dinners , lunches etc so it should roll better next week.

this weekend will likely be a wash for me all well. I'm on my way south to the Cape, where I will likely drink more calories than I eat. I'll finish off the weekend with a hockey game on Sunday night. that will put a dent in my calorie balance for sure. today was a decent food day for me, although I don't have much activity. maybe I'll dance when I get to the bar where my friends band is playing. highly unlikely, but I'll just say that I will! keep up the great work, ladies! and have a wonderful weekend. go Pats! sent from my electronic distraction

NIH Body Weight SimulatorI wanted to share this link which has a neat program where you can enter your stats and get a chart that shows what your weight loss should be over time. It allows you to manipulate activity level to see how that helps and it will also show how many calories you will be able to eat at maintenance. I have my last workout of the week today, and I hope the rain stops so that DH and I can go on a long walk. I'm still not 100% over the cold, but I do feel a lot better. Just a bit of congestion left.

Last weigh in January 2nd 184.4 Today's weight January 10th 182.2
So yay! I am down some. I'm sure that this is water weight from the unknown increase when I started lifting again, but I will take it. And in other good news, I can fit into my size 10 Levis. They button and zip just fine, but they give me a slight muffin top so I can't wear them in public yet.

Dh is down 2 pounds...I am still up several pounds. TOM should be winding down.. It has been a rough one. I have been so hungry all the time, insane cravings and omg I have been crying at crap on TV that isn't even sad LMAO. I need to hit it hard this week and get everything back under control.
Menu is planned out for the week, including lunches. We hit up the fish market today and will be having 2 nights of seafood this week... Sturgeon and scallops! Yum. I have some uncooked frozen shrimp that will make form quick healthy dinner in a pinch. Hope everyone is having a good weekend!
