I lost 0.2 lbs today at Weight Watchers. I felt so bloated earlier this week and had a bad stomachache. I weigh in at home everyday and was up 4 lbs earlier this week, so I am really pleased that it came back down.

Looks like decent progress this week even amidst the winter sickness that seems to have a terrible grip on everyone! Nice job, ladies. Here's my week's summary: - Minimum of 5 hours of cardio per week averaging medium to medium-high intensity
I got 4.6 hours this week averaging medium intensity - this includes 2.6 hours of high intensity gym cardio and 2.0 hours of light intensity walking commute. TBH, I probably burned a lot of calories during my commute trying not to freeze to death!
This 5 hours will be much more doable once I can get outside and do long hikes/runs/bike rides. But I'm leaving it as a stretch goal.
- 2 strength focused days per week
1 strength class (zen bootcamp) which sufficiently kicked my bootay.
- 4 yoga and/or meditation days per week
1 hard yoga class @ work, 2 vinyasa sessions, and 1 yogalades class which also kicked my bootay.
- 100% booze free
- Eat reasonably
Next week's plan: 100% booze free - Mon: elliptical (30 min) and side stepper (30 min); abs, push-ups, hip exercises; stretch, foam roll
- Tue: erg (45+ min); stretch, foam roll; yoga in PM
- Wed: arc trainer (30 min); zen bootcamp
- Thu: erg (25 min); vinyasa
- Fri: elliptical (15 min), run (36 min); stretch, foam roll
- Sat: light cardio (30 min); Damage Control; Restorative yoga
- Sun: swim (45 min); vinyasa
Food wise, I have healthy meals planned all week and am going to try to control myself during a work seminar. Trying to be nice to myself regarding the food intake at the moment since I'm weaning myself off the sauce. One hard thing at a time

Keep up the good work everyone.
Had a sinus infection and currently have no energy for anything but getting thru work.
Plan for this week
1. At least 5000 steps 2. Control stress eating 3. Increase water intake.
Have a great week everyone.

well, I put a dent in my calorie balance last night....and also managed to avoid a concussion somehow. I caught an edge in a rut in the ice and went straight backwards. my helmet spun a little from the impact. the good news is that I don't have a headache today (somehow....I honestly don't even know how) but the bad news is that my neck is ridiculously stiff today, likely from whiplash. going to take it easy the next few days. will be back "home" tonight and will be able to weigh in tomorrow morning.

Hi ladies! I guess you can put me in the "wash" club as well. I did relatively well this weekend at the changes I have been implementing (Continueing to drastically reduce soda, watch mindless eating, opt for healthy snacks, and one treat per week). But I had a major downfall in the guise of chocolate milk. I LOVE chocolate milk (Have you ever had Bessie's Best!?) so I never, ever buy it for my house cause I know I will drink it all. BF occasionally buys some for me and has at his house cause he knowa I love it. I told him about a month ago to stop doing this as I literally have no control and will basically just drink all that there is till it's gone. Well he likes to make me happy, so he brought a 1/2 gallon of chocolate milk home Saturday, and aside from a small amount that he drank...I had the whole thing gone by last night.....thats 1600 calories just on milk!!!! Oh em geee! UGH so annoyed at myself! Of course I told BF again not to buy that, and I think he gets it now...lol. Of course it's not his fault that I have 0 self control! I did count that as my treat for last week and this week so hopefully that will help even it out.....His scale was not very nice to me this morning, but I think it was a lot of water weight as well. I was still down about 4lbs. I hope to be down 8lbs by Friday. This week I started with my mini soda cans (I though they were 6oz, but I see now they are 7.5oz). So that is another step towards freedom from my pop addiction. Just 5 days with the mini cans and then NO more pop at work, at home, or out to eat. Just as a treat for things like going to the movies or a road trip or something.

OMG chiver78 Thank god you are okay!!! I got my new FITBIT CHARGE HR today. I am excited to play around with it and check my calorie burn at the end of the day. It is going to be a late night at the office, but hopefully I can get some kind of workout it. Even if it is just some weights for 15 minutes when i get home.

Whoo hoo! I have recovered from the weekend! Hope everyone is doing well, it really helps me to check in here! Tomorrow is 2 weeks into the new year and my two week goal was to be done 5lbs, so very excited to be ahead of the plan right now! BF is also down about 7lbs (his 2 week goal was 7lbs, so he is right on track!). We are going on a trip to Laughlin on March 8, and my goal is to be down 20lbs by then, which would be 2.5lbs a week, very doable, slow n steady wins the race, goal. I am still doing pretty good with food and still doing pretty lazy with excercise. I am hoping that once I get a few more lbs off I will have more energy and feel more excitement and less dread towards the gym. I am at least making "To Do" lists daily that include work around the house and completing the lists daily so getting things done that burn calories, even if they aren't necessarily a workout (taking down Christmas decorations, cleaning, shoveling, organizing, etc.)....at least I am not just sitting on my bum! Banker Gurl 185.4lbs (192.8lbs 1/1/15) = Down 7.4lbs Goal Weight = 140lbs

had a couple glasses of wine last night, hoping it would loosen up my neck some - it did, I found myself moving like I forgot I was all stiff, and then catching myself yelling OW!! dinner turned into a couple handfuls of Cheez-Its and a cheese quesadilla later on. I wasn't very hungry, just needed to pick at stuff with my wine. awful habit, I know. I was probably dehydrated a bit this am, so take this number with a grain of salt....but I crossed the magic number! 199.8 this am.

bankergurl- 2.5 pounds a week is an amazing loss... mathematically that is over 1000 calorie deficit every day (though we all know it isn't quite that simple) Don't be discourage if that levels off to be a bit lower. Most people can't maintain a loss rate like that unless they have an extremely high weight. Kudos to you thus far! chiver78 Nice job!!! Nothing new to report here. weight was up a bit this morning, but then i did have a salty dinner and i could feel in my hands that I am retaining water. no biggie... I will drink some extra today and flush it away!

chiver78, holy crap that's scary! Glad you're okay and congratulations on the loss. bankergurl, that's quite a torrid pace you're going for! Looks like you and BF are on target, that's great. You're going for a lifestyle change so the progressive steps you're taking with the soda and exercise and deeeeeelicious chocolate milk have a better likelihood of sticking. Keep up the progress! sarcasticgirl, how's the fitbit after day 1?? ners, BLLLAAAAHHHHHHH to being sick. clexie, congrats on the loss! Keep up the good work. I'm 0/2 for planned workouts so far this week. On Monday morning ~3am, there was a veritable shootout in the parking lot below my apartment. Downtown is nothing if not exciting!! Sigh. Anyway, I had a hard time getting back to sleep and my 5:15am alarm got snoozed till 7:30. Last night, I was up reading and couldn't put the book down and went to bed at 1...again couldn't get up at 5:15. I'm going to stick with yoga tonight. Just because I haven't been on plan the last two days doesn't mean I've failed. Just means I have to move forward from here. But still. Sigh.

TBear is helping me get the apartment set up for success. There are quite a few of us at work trying to get healthier and lose weight, although we will be working independently.
MommaBear has put weight back on, but is for the most part healthier. I had to give her my leather jacket I bought last year. And the work jacket I just bought is....drumroll please....
MEDIUM!

I am still on the fence with regards to the fit bit. I still feel that it is overestimating the calorie burn, though it isn't nearly as bad as the first day I got it. It isn't too far off, but I still feel the burn is a few hundred more than it should be. But hell, what do I know? It has a sleep tracker and honestly it explains why I am always so tired. I seem to spend half the night in the restless stage. I knew I tossed and turned a lot but geez! 15+ times a night... 200 minutes+ a night of restlessness. Ugh!
Weight still bobbeling with no real progress. I am eating too much salt. I need to reign that in and pump up the veggies.

I need to join the group. I had a baby in September and need to lose a bunch of weight. I gained 58 lbs during pregnancy...oopsie. On a positive I have lost 46.5 of those pounds. So 11.5 lbs of pregnancy weight left and then another 50-60 needed after that. I had really let myself gain a ton before I got pregnant. Right now I have a problem with drinking pop, eating chocolate, and not liking to cook. We end up eating a lot of convenient foods which usually equals high in fat and carbs. Surviving raising an infant and not getting enough sleep has had me increasing the caffeine, etc. I am ready for nicer weather so I can get outside and run/walk some.

I'm so excited for this weekend. The weather folks keep promising that it will be "warm" here-so in the mid to uppers 30s. HAHAHA. But, I'm thinking it might actually be warm enough to get in some out door walking. I live in a city made for walking, so I try to take advantage of it. But since this city is in the Midwest and not Florida, it's been way too cold recently to walk outside like I prefer. BUT, the "warmer" weather means I can skip the train and walk a bunch which will definitely put me way over my 10,000 steps/day minimum (with a stretch goal of 13,000/day). And this week I've been so lazy-and cold-I'm averaging way under that goal! I'm such a slug!!!
So, fingers crossed the weather folks aren't lying to me!

I just can't wait for tomorrow!!! This is precisely why we schedule a Caribbean vacation every winter. Being couped up and cold all winter makes me beyond miserable! I did pretty good today, I started out with an apple and a large mango, very good. Then tonight I had boiled shrimp and dip. I've not been very hungry not sure why and my blood sugar isn't acting up either, very odd. So tonight I had another large mango, I really like them plus they have fiber!! I may nibble on something else before the night is over and likely drink part of another diet soda. I ate half a bag of popcorn at the theater and threw the rest away, that's a first.
I started today at 185.6 and ended up the day at 185.8, now that's something. Tomorrow I have some chcken breasts to fix, I need to marinate them, then bake and make rice. DD and I both love rice. I should sautee some peppers and mushrooms to go with it. If I don't have protein, I will drink a protein shake, need to be careful and not lose a bunch of muscle.
I do really like fruits and veggies so that is no problem for me to eat.
The difference is I haven't been eating cookies, drinking milk, I love milk and strawberry milk is a big downfall for I and DD. Love that stuff. Also eating little bread, no pies, cakes, or other sweets.
Eating fresh fruits and some sautéed thing like cauliflower, mushrooms, bell peppers, broccoli, snow peas, carrots, tofu. All kinds of fresh fish, not frozen.
I can find plenty to eat and stay way below the calorie requirement and so far not be hungry. I hope I can continue being able to do this and continue to lose weight. I love fruit but am so picky when it comes to veggies. Life would be so much easier if I liked more veggies! Your meals sound yummy! I also had shrimp tonight... Yum! @patstab: Maintaining over time is so hard! It really does take a lifestyle change. For me that meant adding in exercise and cutting out some sugar. I've maintained the exercise over 8 years now. The food, however, has been SO.MUCH.HARDER. And I've found that I can exercise like a maniac, but if i don't control the food, my weight itself won't be controlled. I may be healthy, but I'm not lighter. Good luck! sarcasticgirl: We are going to Puerto Vallarta. Got such a good deal, we couldn't pass it up. We were there 6 years ago, so I'm interested in seeing how much it's changed. And I live near that Target. (which means near Macy's, DSW, etc) Talk about dangerous!!

sarcasticgirl - huh, interesting relevation from the fitbit! If my memory serves me (and it might not so correct me if I'm wrong) you work a TON. During the times when I have a ton happening at work, I toss and turn like mad. Do you think your work stress and the restlessness might be related? You aren't moving backward with the weight....silver lining! You'll find your groove. @patstab - welcome!! Do you know how long it will be until you're back home and into a routine? Good weight loss further down the board. You should very motivated to make some changes. Good luck with your journey. kcladyjane - welcome!! Drinking pop, eating chocolate, and not liking to cook.....I think those of us already on the board are struggling with at least one of those! You're in good company. What's your plan? Do you have a short-term goal? flamingo - wohoo for temperatures not in the single digits. Looks promising out there in the midwest. Have a great walk(s)! Update: that weight hump I couldn't seem to get under: I'M UNDER IT!!! Trying not to get too excited until it's maintained for a week or so but.....it's about time after two years!

Hi All, I'm checking in. I slept thru my Watchers meeting this morning but since I'm consider a "Lifetime" member I don't have to pay extra for the missed meeting.
I went to the gym 4 out of 5 weekdays this week and am still currently in first place with the gym challenge. When I eventually get out of my pjs I figure I'll go today, too.

I hopped on the scale the other day (the last time I was in the same house as my scale in the morning) and I was up a few lbs. I think it's water retention in advance of TOM. today I'm dehydrated - I hadn't eaten or drank anything from breakfast around 10AM until I cracked a bottle of water when I got home about an hour ago - and my pants have been falling off all day. I'm not really going to stress about the number on the scale until I'm at least moved into the new house. closing's still up in the air as to whether it will be Wed or Thurs, and I leave for my cruise on Friday. my mtg broker actually suggested we plan for a Friday closing to give everyone breathing room on the USDA funding release, which made me a little nuts. for everything I've ever answered him as a "yup, whatever you need" I didn't let him finish his sentence. as soon as he said Friday, I interrupted him with a loud "NOPE, no can do" so keep your fingers crossed that USDA comes back quickly this week and I can close on Friday. I'm still splitting my time between my sister's and my parents' house, and I need to pack up the shit I have here as well as things I need for the cruise.....as well as make time for the puppy, so yah. stress. cosmos tonight with the tacos I fixed from leftovers of last night's dinner while I wasn't around. tonight's going to be an early one, I have a long day of packing ahead of me tomorrow before I get to watch the Pats mop the field with the Colts!

I have started lifting weights because my mom fell the other day and I feel like I need to be stronger to help her more. I am only up to 7 lb dumb bells but I started out at 2.5 lb so I am progressing slowly. I was going to exercise tonight but I started feeling sick at work so I think I will rest today and go in the morning.
There is a half marathon/marathon in a town 60 miles from me in September. I would like to try to run in it but I don't think I will be ready. There is no time limit on it.

Pat- you helped me figure out what to do with the half pack of mushrooms I have left. I love them sauteed and I love sauteed peppers too! I guess I won't mention the first half of the pack was put on homemade pizzas...
I haven't weighed myself because of hormonal fluctuations. I should be able to trust the number that shows up on Wednesday or Thursday. I don't feel bloated anymore, but it sometimes takes a few extra days to really get back to normal.

I just got back from the fitness center - did 1 hour of weights and half hour walk/run on the treadmill. I love how it makes me feel. Today I used the 7.5 lb dumb bells. I was a little worried that I wouldn't be able to do each set with them but I did. And I even did a couple sets with the 10 lb dumb bells. Then I used a few of the weight machines. I am feeling stronger but so far my body doesn't show any difference. But its only been a week and a half and I hope to continue to go.
