I will be calling the police on anyone carrying a handgun I think is real that is not in a holster- and on anyone carrying rifles/shotguns in a grocery store, on my street, etc. Common sense.
And if I feel creeped out I will call them on someone that has one in a holster walking around my neighborhood. As far as I am concerned if they are dumb enough to walk around like that where anyone can see they are armed then they probably need to be questioned.

I assume you are joking. This is the problem in the big inner city neighborhoods now. Not enough citizens calling the police on the open carrys The young males have them in the pants now. Some showing, some hidden, some hidden under the seat in the car while cruising for a quick retrieval. And this is why you have police pulling the trigger way too fast in some situations. They do not want to be the next statistic in the next day's edition of the paper.
Yeh, I know, I am just another conservative making big unfounded statements, but we all know it is going on. I cannot tell you how many under 19 year old kids have been killed in Chicago so far, but it is probably over 100, and most are drive by's or are loose shots going into homes killing innocent children.

I am not joking one bit and I have no idea what the hell you are talking about. I don't give one shit about politics- you walk around my neighborhood with a gun hanging out I am sending the police to talk to you- and if I was a dick I would spice it up by telling dispatch you were waving it around. We have the right to carry concealed in this state- so maybe if these idiots have enough encounters with the police they will quit doing it. No reason at all to open carry unless you are some short dicked loser looking to intimidate other people- the kind of person that needs a double barrel AR-15

IF you thought it was a real gun. to me, that is the entire point. It sure looks like one and I'm not sticking around to find out but getting the hell out of there. but the guy with a camera did. right? for 8 f(*king minutes. that is approximately 8 minutes longer than the cops gave him.

... Did you note how long he sat and observed Tamir? ... I see 5 seconds from the time the car enters the frame until the kid hits the ground. What did you note as the time they were observing? Five seconds? Bless your heart. The cop came out of the door shooting.

That's what makes zero sense. I almost wonder if it was some kind of set up to just cause trouble for a kid or a cop? Plan very successful. There's no way in hell a normal person just sits there while anyone plays with a gun . The whole situation is bizarre.

Let's see here, EVT1 is concealed carrying Costco, when he bends over to pickup an item someone spots the weapon that EVT1 is carrying. Because the customer is terrified of guns tell the manage that a man is waving a gun around. the manager calls the police. So someone just like EVT1 call the police on EVT1. What do you think is going to happen to EVT1?? Oh, think that that could not happen?

There was no reason to shoot within 2 seconds of driving up. Absurd.

The cop came out of the door shooting. Just to clarify, I said "car enters the frame" and "kid hits the ground". Those are clearly observable on the video. The video, without sound, does not show "shooting". That being clarified, I do not disagree with your assessment.

And I said if I was creeped out- somone bending over to look at a product is not carrying a weapon to intimidate and no cause for alarm. If they are walking around like a cowboy then I make the call. Or this:
If they choose to make other people uncomfortable then I am going to make them uncomfortable and send the police in for a chat. Ridiculous.

Cleveland officer who shot Tamir Rice had 'dismal' handgun performance for Independence police CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Cleveland police officer who shot and killed 12-year-old Tamir Rice had issues with handling guns during his brief tenure with a suburban police department. A Nov. 29, 2012 letter contained in Tim Loehmann's personnel file from the Independence Police Department says that during firearms qualification training he was "distracted" and "weepy." "He could not follow simple directions, could not communicate clear thoughts nor recollections, and his handgun performance was dismal," according to the letter written by Deputy Chief Jim Polak of the Independence police. The letter recommended that the department part ways with Loehmann, who went on to become a police officer with the Cleveland Division of Police. "I do not believe time, nor training, will be able to change or correct the deficiencies," Polak said. www.cleveland.com/metro/index.ssf/2014/12/cleveland_police_officer_who_s.html#incart_m-rpt-1

Ah, I thought the guy who made the call sat there for 8 minutes watching the kid wave a gun around. That sure didn't make any sense.

It looked like the guy in the gazebo sat there for a long time watching the kid wave his gun around. To me, that made zero sense. A rational person would get the hell out of there.

Video starts at 15:12:47. There is person in the gazebo at that point. Runs until 15:13:27(ish). Indicates kid not in frame for 3:35. Runs again at 15:17:05(ish). Person still in gazebo. A couple of 30(ish) seconds kid out of frame. Person still in gazebo each time. 15:20:53 kid out of frame for 5:44. When video starts again person is not in gazebo.
So from when kid walked into frame until at least 8 minutes and 7 seconds later, person was in gazebo.

No doubt- sounds like he wasn't cut out to be a cop. So at least a part of this is the fault of the agency for hiring the guy in the first place.

Instead of maybe scaring the shit out of him and expecting him to react properly in a second or two as an adult might.

Is it the guy in the gazebo that called the cops? Here is a link to the call: www.latimes.com/nation/nationnow/la-na-nn-tamir-rice-911-call-20141126-htmlstory.htmlWish it had a clock on it. That might help with the question of who it was from. Also a map showing the area. When Rice is off camera, are there swings close at hand? Was it in this block of time the call was placed? The caller indicates he is leaving. That fits with the gazebo person being gone at the end of that break. I am going to see if I can find more.

www.cbsnews.com/news/cleveland-officer-shot-tamir-rice-within-seconds-of-pulling-up-in-patrol-car/ Loehmann and Garmback were dispatched to the scene Saturday after a 911 call, made by a man who can be seen in surveillance video sitting not far from the spot where Rice and Loehmann would have their deadly confrontation But the article has this which is a little tough to believe: As their car pulled toward the gazebo where Rice stood, Loehmann yelled from the moving car three times, "Show us your hands," (Deputy Chief) Tomba said.
