and clearly the most partisan of all major news organizations. by far. they don't really even pretend any more. Have they dropped the Fair and Balanced™ thing? I hope that they haven't; it's always been good for a chuckle. I'm afraid not. It's still there under their logo. They need to hang a curtain over it, or something. ![](http://images.proboards.com/new/wink.png)

I did read Dr. Spencer (the doctor hospitalized in NY with Ebola) is continuing to improve. He's playing his banjo and using his exercise machine in his room. They're hoping they can lift his isolation soon. Good news! ![](http://images.proboards.com/new/smiley.png)

LOL - FUX - errr FOX news is one of the most unreliable sources of accurate news coverage. and clearly the most partisan of all major news organizations. by far. they don't really even pretend any more. One thing about conservatives, they don't have to pretend ! Like your master, Obama ,the biggest pretender of them all.

I believe the Maine nurse's 21-day watch period is up today too.
I know her 'isolation' is finished .... and I also know I don't want her on any medical team that treats either me or family. If she can't obey medical orders for herself for 3 weeks, then what other orders does she choose not to obey.
Wonder what her employment future is like?

Wonder what her employment future is like? She obeyed 'medical orders' via the CDC guidelines. She didn't obey political orders.

Wonder what her employment future is like? You may never know who is tending to you while you are under anesthesia. So I suggest you remain awake during any surgery you may require in the future.

I believe the Maine nurse's 21-day watch period is up today too. And her and her boyfriend promptly left Fort Kent, where they had received a mixed reaction to their situation, and he was essencially barred from the campus where he was taking classes. Another black mark on us.
They are staying within the state, however, and hopefully the town of Freeport will give them a much heartier welcome.
Maine as a state has a demographic problem- we are aging. We need more young people to stay and to locate here. Ironically these are just exactly the type of people we should be welcoming with open arms. Smart, motivated, caring and talented people, maybe we can start to give them a bit of respect and dignity?
Fort Kent is like at the end of the known world. They cannot afford to lose anyone.

Fort Kent is like at the end of the known world. They cannot afford to lose anyone. I'm in Maine, and New York City is closer to me than Fort Kent. Yeah, it's up there. When I worked out of Bedford, New Hampshire, I always dreaded the thought of maybe having to drive to Ft. Kent for work purposes. Fortunately, the furthest I had to drive was to Bangor which was far enough, especially during the winter months.

Indeed. Maine is the size of the rest of New England combined. Yeah, what's up with your states being the size of our counties? I left the hotel one day in Southern Maine and was still looking for the border of New Hampshire when I passed the Welcome to Massachusetts sign. I hadn't even gotten my GPS set up yet and I was in my third state of the morning. ![](http://images.proboards.com/new/tongue.png)

You folks from the "Geometric" states out west are in a whole different category. You're not happy if your state isn't larger than most countries. ![](http://images.proboards.com/new/wink.png) I just find your tiny-ness confusing. I had a terrble time the first time I had to plan a driving vacation in NE in the fall. I assumed we could only cover one state in our alloted time. I kept adding states when I discovered you could cross a whole state in like 3 hours. We ended up touring 3-4 states. It's efficient, at least! ![](http://images.proboards.com/new/grin.png)

Hey, my mother is from Holland. You wanna talk about small? Their army used to travel by bicycle (efficiently)
Of course that didn't work well against German Panzers. ![](http://images.proboards.com/new/sad.png) No it didn't but it is a great mode of transportation. And if you start in the right place you can be in your third country of the day on your bike by lunch time! Not-your-mom but BTDT ![](http://images.proboards.com/new/grin.png)

So the tax dodging criminal Cliven Bundy stands up to the government and he is a hero. A nurse that stands up to government bullying on the other hand is insulted and should be arrested. The GOP media really know how to pick their heroes.

He'll be in the right place once he gets back. Wish we had more information on the stage of his illness, whether he has family here, etc. Hope he recovers as the others have!

I do not see this as a bad thing (if anyone thinks it is) bringing this doctor to the Nebraska Medical Center which has the best facilties to treat Ebola. He is also a legal resident ofvthe U.S.
This gives the medical and scientific fields a (covered) hands-on oportunity to study the disease without having to travel to the infected countries.

Value Buy, I'm curious. I recall you had a trip planned. Did you ever reinstate those airline tickets you were talking about cancelling, or did you end up cancelling them?

People are horrified when they find out I work for UNMC. DH had a co-worker tell him he should demand I quit my job.
The biohazard unit is a locked door floor in the hospital. Not entirely sure how I am going to contract Ebola while sitting in the College of Pharmacy. ![](http://syonidv.hodginsmedia.com/vsmileys/crazy.gif)

after round 20 or 30 of this, we will learn that this disease is somewhat less threatening than AIDS. ![](http://images.proboards.com/new/wink.png)

Well if you think about it, if Ebola were to break out in Omaha. .. where is the best place you want to be?
Here! If I am going to get treated and treated fast then being across the street from the leading ebola hospital at the moment is my best bet.
People look at me like I have three heads when I say that.
