Ah, so that's where the use of hubris may have started. ![](http://syonidv.hodginsmedia.com/vsmileys/lightbulb.gif)
I know I shouldn't be surprised that some politicians can't think, but heck why would you believe nurses contracted the disease in the air given the reported heavy contact they had with him and his body fluids?
Plus, these are the kind of mistakes that might happen. And guess what, not to the general public. To healthcare workers who hopefully have a clue of the risks involved. How hard is that for some to figure out?
Probably good I am not the President now. I'd be showing up giving my patented eyebrow look for each and every idiotic statement uttered. Then I'd probably clear my throat and be mean. Readiness does not mean zero chance of contagion to healthcare workers. Readiness means we believe we are fully prepared so healthcare workers are fully protected if protocols are followed. Readiness means we have a plan if healthcare workers do contract the disease. ...

yeah. there is a saying on the populist left: when the people lead, the leaders will follow. amen. In this case, I'd say it's been the sensationalist press leading and both the public and their "leaders" following. ![](http://images.proboards.com/new/rolleyes.gif) corporations are people too, my friend. ![](http://images.proboards.com/new/wink.png)

Both nurses have been released. Do we even have any active cases in the US at this time?

There was the NY doctor that was infected. Haven't heard much about him lately beyond the bowling controversy.

It's medical lingo for pretty hopeful. ![](http://images.proboards.com/new/wink.png) Seriously, if it goes to unstable, or deteriorates to critical, that would be a bad sign. I'd expect anyone hospitalized with this disease to be classified as, at the least, serious but stable.

I think it's good. If we don't hear, that means there's been no real change. If his condition were to deteriorate it would put him in critical condition. We'd hear about that. The press isn't about to miss that opportunity. The only way we wouldn't hear is if he specifically requests all information concerning him and his condition be kept confidential. If he made that request, we'd hear he'd made it. In the case of the doctor, no news is good news at this point in his illness. ![](http://images.proboards.com/new/smiley.png)

LINK TO ARTICLEawesome. so, he is isolated until the 13th, or until he is virus free? also: the article said he is the only hospitalized patient in NYC, but i think he is the only hospitalized patient of ebola in the US, right?

I imagine he'll remain isolated until he's virus-free, dj. He's the only patient currently being treated for Ebola in the US, though. ![](http://images.proboards.com/new/smiley.png)

According to THIS ARTICLE there's a woman in Oregan who's from West Africa and is awaiting lab results of tests for Ebola. She's currently being held in isolation in a hospital ICU because she has a fever. She has had no known contact with anyone sick with Ebola, reportedly.

The patient in Oregon has tested negative for Ebola. There's currently one patient being evaluated at Duke University Hospital. Patient is from Liberia but is considered very low risk for Ebola.

The patient at Duke University Hospital has been confirmed to be Ebola-free. She ain't got the stuff either. To my knowledge we have no pending tests on any patients anywhere in the US.

ROFL! The New Yorker
NEW YORK (The Borowitz Report)–Fox News announced on Wednesday that it is terminating its coverage of the Ebola virus effective immediately, because, in the words of the host Sean Hannity, “Our work is done.”
Hannity commended the work of the Fox Ebola team, which provided non-stop coverage of the virus during the month of October, but added, “This story is officially over.”
Fox’s decision to bring its Ebola coverage to such an abrupt close raised eyebrows in media circles, but Hannity offered an explanation for the move after his broadcast concluded.
“There’s like, what, one case of Ebola in the United States?” the host said. “At most, two or three. The point is, the chances of any of our viewers catching Ebola are next to zero. We’re not in the business of scaring people for no reason. Let’s all move on.”
Hannity added that if there is an Ebola outbreak in the U.S., Fox would offer in-depth coverage of the crisis, probably in the fall of 2016.
