I biked 8 miles this morning (and stopped and worked out with my personal trainer in the middle of that!)

Dinner: spinach, kale, chard, spinach, chipotle yams, lemon-herb tofu, orange pepper and mushrooms. Yum!

 NOTE TO SELF: If you are sitting on your brand-new exercise ball (and you're klutzy like me), get OFF if you suddenly start sneezing, otherwise you will fall off onto the floor, freaking the heck out of the cats when you start laughing hysterically as the exercise ball shoots across the room and knocks over a lamp. <snort>

Next shopping excursion = new lamp? Your discussion of things you buy at Trader Joe is making me want to make a trip.  Need to wait until after Passover and store up some $$.

The lamp survived! (The bulb did not!)

85 degrees outside and we biked 25 miles!

88 degrees and biked 16.1 miles today.

TOMATOES! We picked up 18 tomato plants from Gazebo Gardens this afternoon and just planted them ALL over our front flower beds! YUM!

In my town we cannot plant anything but grass, trees, bushes, evergreens, flowering plants or green plants in the front yards.

Holly, our city is happy when people refrain from dismantling cars on the front lawn   They do have rules about weeds not growing taller than 4 ft, though. We have a fair number of flowering bushes in our flower beds (euryops, geraniums, azaleas, rosemary, lantana, daisy varieties, mums, etc.) and we just sort of place the tomato plants in between. As people zip by, I assume most people don't even notice. (People who walk by sure notice ... I've caught some eating my 'maters)

This morning, I went (yet again) to be tortured by my personal trainer. This concludes my 8 visits with her ... so I decided to bite the bullet, shell out another $400 and get another 8 visits. Because I have absolutely NO motivation to start doing weight lifting or resistance bands or pushups/situps at home on my own. Nope. Just not gonna happen.

After lunch, I decided I wanted to buy carrots and zucchini, so I biked there. Picked up salmon for dinner, too. Total miles biked today: 17.25.

My left foot isn't sore. I mention this only because I think every OTHER part of my body IS sore! LOL!

Today marks 10 months since I started my "getting healthier" quest and started to pursue "health enhancing behaviors."  So far, so good.... I haven't killed myself with exercising or biking and I'm still eating my veggies. I will say that my weight seems to have stabilized ... and I'm staying within the same 5 pounds AND able to do wild and exciting things like eat out sometimes ... yay! I go back to the doc on May 9 to see how my blood sugars/cholesterol are (and to get a referral for my annual eye exam and mammogram, oh joy!)

my town is WAAAY less tolerant about the height of grass and/or weeds. You get a notice WAAAY before they reaach 1 ft and a fine if not gut down REAL quick.

Day #5 of vertigo ... so no personal trainer this week, and no biking. (My allergies are running amuck!) My wonderful DH also has the flu ... and I'm doing my darndest to keep the heck away from him (well, as much as possible given the fact that we live in the same house!)

Just didn't want anyone to think I dropped off the face of the earth.

While your vertigo my be alergy based it can also be a sign of an ear infection. Been Checked?

I biked 26 miles on Sunday.

I worked out with the personal trainer today. More on Wednesday. (It's a twice a week thing)

It's already getting HOT here ... we're forecast for 90 and 91 this weekend.

Worked out with the personal trainer on Wednesday and biked 5 miles.

Went to the gym on Thursday and did 11 minutes on the elliptical and about 35 minutes on the exercise bike.

We biked 12.75 miles tonight after dinner!

Met with the Personal Trainer on Monday. Plus 12 minutes on the elliptical.
Met with the Personal Trainer today. Plus 13 minutes on the elliptical.
Biked 13 miles today.

And I'm eating my veggies.

We went out of town this past weekend and did a fair amount of walking.

Personal trainer yesterday.
Biked 15 miles today.
Personal trainer tomorrow.

We biked 15.5 miles today (not too shabby for the 90s!)

Doctor visit update ~ My doctor was VERY pleased with how I've been doing. My blood sugars (A1c) improved from 6.2 to 6.1 since January. My "good" HDL cholesterol improved 6 points since January. My triglycerides improved 65 points since January. And (not that it's a measure of health in an of itself), my weight is lower than it was in January. She said I was the "poster child" for working hard to improve my health and I didn't need any more coaching from her ... and said to come on back in 6 months! YAY!

ADVENTURES IN BIKING ~ We fed baby Canada Geese, we watched a hummingbird feed her babies in a nest (at lunch), we helped total strangers carry a couch from their truck to their apartment, and we biked 22 miles! (And it's getting HOT out there!)

I decided that hanging out in our super cold swimming pool would be a refreshing and simple way to "ice" my toe and help with the pain. It was a pretty afternoon, and I had a book to read.

I was happily cooling down in the pool when I looked down and THERE WAS A BIG, HUGE, SCARY BLACK SPIDER CRAWLING ON MY SHOULDER! (Yes, I freaked out, screamed, splashed it off, dropped my book, then stripped nekkid because I couldn't figure out where it went! AAAUUGGH! My wonderful DH fished it out and stepped on it for me.

EEEEEK! (That wasn't as helpful as I'd hoped it would have been)
