Taken from the Viagra site. Are those symptoms for DF to worry about, or Zib? Oh, and princess is riding in atop her gilded carriage, is she? Should we start a betting pool on how long it will be before she asks Daddy for more wedding money, hospitalized though he is? I would not put it past her to use his convalescent state to pressure him for the bucks. "Oooooh, Daddy, I'm soooooo happy the surgery went well. I'm sooooo glad you will be at my wedding...if there is a wedding." (insert whiny-girl sniffle here)"It's just that things are getting soooooo expensive, and of course, my daddy wants me to have my dream day, now that he will be here to see it..." (insert fake little sob here) "Mommy has given us money, but we've just used it all up somehow, and we know you want us to start our married life wonderfully..." (at this point, Zib picks up Princess by the scruff of her neck and drops her out the window)Zib looking down from the window: "Funny, the hospital staff claimed these windows don't open. Amazing what you can do when you have to."

They just have him a bath. Too bad he wasnt awake to appreciate it! But I will be sure to tell him, adding a few things that didnt really happen!! Like how his new heart was pumping blood to all the 'wrong' areas during his sponge bath?

Although it'd have gagged me to do it, had she been civil last night instead of ignoring me I'd have accepted the olive branch even though the snake is on it. She's only sucking up because until her dad wakes up, I have all the power.

Ooh, he had rhythm! Wonder how his golf swing was? Golf was probably too bourgeois for Jimi. Be happy with the new guitar skills. No one was better.

I've heard that a new heart recipient sometimes craves the foods that the donor used to love. Might be interesting to see what DF wants to eat when he regains his appetite.

Not at all. He owes me a LOT of sex! He knows it, too! After my dad's transplant and recovery, the Dr's told him to get as much physical exercise as he could handle to build up this strength again and keep that new ticker pumping.
Just a thought you might want to plant into his head (or heads).

If someone wants to merge the threads, that's fine with me. I don't need two of them. It's REALLY not all about me, I promise.
Okay I'll merge them for you.

UPDATE! Both of us had a good night. I slept from 9:30 to 6 and feel human. He's doing well and they are going to start weaning him off ventilator. Gradual process. Amazing the drugs running in. I count 11 that I can see without getting too close which I don't want to do in case I have the crud and don't know it. No temp but I want to make sure.

Ugh, some things they do to you, it's a good thing you're "out." Just watching and listening was a bit stomach jumping.

Yay! Happy to hear your DF is progressing well and that you got some rest.
Yeah, anesthesia is a wonderful thing. You might feel like crap when they finally bring you around, but at least you don't know why.

I wouldn't leave DH's side when he was in ICU after heart surgery. I finally got kicked out for fussing at his nurse for waiting way too long to give him his pain meds. She was always off in a corner gossiping with other nurses and not watching his med timing. It was hard to bite my tongue and leave him.

None of that here. This place is first rate. I've heard they don't treat their nurses well but if its true, they don't take it out on patients. I'm doing a HUGE fruit basket when we leave here. Yes, it does look like all in one vein but there's so much going on that I'm not positive of it. He's now at level 2 on ventilator. They're checking his gasses, which sounds funny, and then they go to 0.

When DH woke up but was still on the ventilator, he was sooooo thirsty. He wrote the letters in my hand COKE. He got ice chips.
