I wouldn't want my kids to see me like that, either. We weren't leaving until we knew he how he was doing and that Mom was ok. As I said, different family dynamic. Doesn't mean one is right or wrong, just that they're different. I find how different families operate/work interesting. Plus I'm nosy.

Zib, I agree with not wanting family to see me like that. My Dad had bypass surgery some years back, & when they let me in to see him after surgery, I didn't know they'd put a blue oxygen mask over his face. For one scary moment, I thought he was turning blue! He was hooked up to an entire roomful of equipment. We knew he was improving when piece by piece, that equipment gradually began to disappear. I'm not sure I'd want to see myself looking like that...

I wish they'd be more considerate about him being naked. They uncover for whatever and then just leave it. Besides being cold, it's not a peep show. Now I know I'm less worried, I'm complaining about the care!

So glad to hear the news continues to be good. Also glad to hear that security saw you safely to your car in the wee hours of the morning. The unhelpful security personnel you encountered earlier must have been defective.
Sending more good thoughts that everything continues to go smoothly and your DF's recovery progresses as hoped for and uneventfully.

I wouldn't want my kids to see me like that, either. I think families vary a lot on that. One of my good friend's their family is more like what WB describes.
I have no idea how I'd feel if I had kids.

This is wonderful news, Zib!!! So happy for you and DF. I pray his recovery is smooth. I am sure his team of doctors will be looking out for any issues, but be sure to keep an eye on him later as depression is really common for those going through this.

I recall some years ago when it was my Grandfather who was in the CCU, that they wanted him uncovered. The only thing I remember was my Mom getting mad at her older sister who kept covering him back up.
You might want to check with the nurses to see if that still applies.

I hope so, too. They've given life to so many people. Other than the duggars, how many can say that?

Aw, a new heart, and now all cleaned up, too. Just wait until he's got his energy back and running circles around everyone. You may recall this current time of peace and quiet somewhat fondly. Not the sickness or surgery part of it, of course. Just the quiet part of it, as you are racing to keep up with DF.

The fact that she has no control and its all in my hands certainly was a shock to her. She's used to calling the shots.

I went home at 2:30. Came back at 8. He had a good night and his lungs are clear. So far, so good. As far as Princess, I brought my medical POA. She won't be sneaking in anymore because I said no visitors until he's awake and can decide for himself. The staff was uncomfortable with it but I pointed out it says medical directive, no telling who made the call. She just showed up and was told to leave. I missed the story on the Princess, so don't know what it's about, but glad to hear she didn't run you over.
