I don't know what I will do today, but yesterday I made a double batch of chili. We each had a bowl during halftime of the Husker-Rutgers football game and I put 3 containers, each with 2 servings, in the freezer.
I worked on another donation quilt and have it 3/4ths quilted. Will then cut the binding and start sewing that on by hand. Doing this is my favorite part since it gives me time to sit in a nice comfy chair, turn on one of the Lifetime channels and watch movies. It also allows me time to indulge in my latest pastime on a Sunday and watch In the Kitchen with David on QVC. I've never bought any of the kitchen items they sell but it is mindless entertainment for 3 hours on Sunday while I sit and sew.

What I did today, 10/26/14:
1. Made a more detailed list of my "to-do" list. 2. Got groceries and put them all away. 3. Filled 5 water bottles. 4. Cleaned both litter pans and took the litter to the garbage. 5. Read a book. 6. Wrote in my paper journal and my online journal. 7. Knitted for 20 minutes.

The one thing I did today that stands out most is- I ate too much today.

I biked 13.75 miles this morning. I biked 5.5 miles this evening. I bought tofu. I bought chickpeas. I did one load of laundry. I organized dog beds and dog coats to be donated to a local non-profit. I did "cat rescue stuff" (Facebook, emails, applications, telephone calls, etc.) I went shoe shopping with my wonderful DH. I made some calls regarding the Check Engine light on the Explorer. I added water to the swimming pool. I watered the tomatoes. I opened 3 boxes from Amazon.

back roads out to route 122 into and across Worcester, then I-290 into Marlboro, then back roads to the office. it is absolutely miserable if I get stuck behind someone going the speed limit (or worse, slower!) which rarely happens at 6AM.....but once in awhile, man....damn. that was today.

This entire week has been nothing but medical appointments. Yesterday it started with physical therapy for me, followed by an appt. for DH with the gastroenterologist @ the VA. The Dr. was great and spent almost 45 minutes with us. For DH, we have moved into the area of excluding food types, first off is gluten.....oh this is going to be fun! So it required a stop at WMT for some additional fruits and veggies, but when you add in his diabetes this will make for some interesting meals.
Today is lab work again for me, then I'm going to get in some sewing projects.

I picked tomatoes. I hung up thistle socks for the finchies. I added peanuts to the squirrel feeder. I brought in the cushions off the chaise lounge since rain is forecast Friday/Saturday. I did rescue stuff (Facebook, emails, etc.) I watched "Scorpion" on Demand (Monday's episode) since I forgot to watch it on Monday. I filled the backyard cat feeder (for the neighbor's cat and the teenage possum who shows up regularly)

no idea on Twilight, sorry. imdb's a pretty good resource for movie information though. you might try looking it up there. so far today, I've made a huge breakfast for my sis/BIL and myself. spinach and mushroom scrambled eggs, bacon, and I reheated some leftover seasoned fries from the BBQ place in the oven. it was tasty this afternoon, I plan to find better storage options within the house for a few things that are piled on the dining room table, do some laundry (towels) and sweep the first floor - the cat hair/litter they all track around the house has been driving me batshit crazy. oh, and there's a Walmart run that's gotta happen too. whatever gets me back home for ND/Navy kickoff at 8pm.

My granddaughter came over and we went through nine 18 gallon tubs of clothes, blankets, towels and odds and ends. I have 15 or more to go through. I am down-sizing from 24 of those tubs to six 33 gallon tubs. Most of the things in them, I haven't used since we moved here 8 years ago. I am letting things go that I thought I liked but after looking at them again, I don't like them. I have 16 pair of pants that I am keeping so far. I have enough shirts to make 40 or more outfits out of those pants. That is just the winter clothes. I haven't counted the summer ones. I do know that I am not keeping the sleeveless tops because most of them I don't like any more.

All Saints Day at worship services with candle lighting and communion. I saw a couple of friends who were trying the church out. Lower body workout at the gym. Tomorrow will be upper body with some friends at a different gym. I scored the free coupon for flour at the gym so I went and bought a few extra needed groceries; so I didn't look like a cheap skate like yesterday when I bought a 49 cent onion. I decided to gather a few more items with the flour to donate cookie ingredients. It's an emergency food pantry so I don't know if that will go over well. Maybe the soup kitchen is a better choice. Home for lunch and a nap that I slept so deep I didn't know where I was when I woke up. That was in 20 minutes. Archery range to shoot 20 yd and 40 yd targets. 63 degrees outside. A lovely day. Prepare delinquent rent letter to my brother. He did pay the house taxes so his rents not going up. His girlfriend is advocating for him. I'll be preparing dinner shortly.

Ten mile bike ride on our first cold day of the year (OK 48 degrees. Not cold to a lot of you. ). Made breakfast. Showered and headed to Walgreens for their sales (had a lot of coupons to use). Came home, did laundry, cleaned the master bath shower, caught up on emails. Washed my car. Baked two loaves of bread. Made chicken noodle soup with matzoh balls (the stock was homemade, from chicken bones I've been saving, plus bits of veggies and chicken from last week's meals). The soup and bread were our dinner tonight.

This past weekend: -Hit Tops for the deals on Friday during lunch hour(saved 50% with coupons and deals). -Went to exercise class. -Had highlights done next door by my "hairdresser". -Did various cleaning and window washing around the house. -Finished laundry and ironing -Made a roasted butternut squash soup. -Cut back gladiolus and pulled the tomato plants. Started raking and turning over the beds. -Stopped for a few hours at work on the way to a regional charity meeting. -Hit this new to me store, Runners. Seemed like a cross between Tractor Supply and Lowe's with some cool snacks thrown in. I just strolled around. Bought DH some peanuts in the shell. -Stopped at Sephora to use $10 in e-gift cards from bing. Got a free mascara. -CVS for a couple of deals on the way to a concert. -Out to dinner with DS and DH. -Cocooned with DH by the wood burning stove and watched football.

I went to physical therapy this AM, then to Ruby Tuesday for lunch. After that is was a trip to Waste Management to return their new 96 Gal. recycle trash can, as we can't keep it outside and there is no room in garage for it. So, they got it back
Then it was off to a nearby junk store looking for a small cute table. DH is going to sand it down and paint it and I will now have a place for my iPad and IPhone to sit and be charged, rather than having them on my printer.
I think I'm done for today.

Pat...after all this ass busting work you're doing on the rental, maybe you could just flip it and be done? I'm certain that you'll have it fixed up real nice.

Gym then tennis. Lunch with friends followed by a locally produced documentary on Ukraine immigrants and homesteading. It was mostly interviews. The turn out was great. Home, nap, trying not to think about how much overeating I did today.

I tried to figure out why I had so much time before going to yoga. Doh! I forgot to read the newspaper funnies. Major shopping at Sam"s, Walmart and a grocer. I was home in time to kiss DH good bye as he went to the gym. I took today off. I baked a pumpkin cheese cake and ate waaaay too much of it. Just one bite at a time and one more bite and . . . Also baked Stauffer's chicken lasagne, family size.
I napped twice. Probably carb overload.
Exercise with Gilad video 30 mins.
Now I'm catching up on the board.

Decided to stay home. I have Pella windows and they are wood inside. The house is about 10 years old. I noticed that at the bottom of most of the panes the wood is becoming discolored and the wood has had moisture condense on the glass and discolor the bottom.
I'm going to clean them today and stain the bottom little piece on each pane with stain and polyurethane to protect them. No sense letting them get ruined. So won't be working at the other house today.
I'm also cooking a big pot of bean soup, will freeze some and share with MIL. Also going to make cornbead and take her some of that and some homemade fudge. About all I will do today. Just cleaning the windows and re-staining the frames won't solve your condensation problem. There's an air-gap somewhere that's allowing the colder air to come in creating the condensation due to the warmer temperature inside your house.
Sounds like the windows need to be re-sealed with putty or silicone caulking or flashing:.

We went to DD's shrink today, he approves 100% of us getting guardianship and has filled out the papers for us to request it.
DD and I went to see the new show Interstellar, it was a good movie!
What age she is?

We had an unexpected trip to the VA Medical center today for lab work for DH and to pick up a new Rx. After that it was lunch at Popeyes.
I worked all afternoon on a quilt for our local fire dept. It is all quilted and I'm now cutting and sewing the binding. I will hand sew the binding this weekend so I can turn it in to my small quilt group next Wednesday. The sewn quilt blocks hanging on the design wall will have to wait till another time. I'm going to clean up the sewing room and do something else for awhile.
Oh, and this is the 3rd quilt I will be turning in for the fire dept. for the year.
Pat, I'm glad to hear that the guardianship for your daughter is the right step. Hope the process is easy and quick.

Pats, I think I've asked before, but have you looked into safe group-homes for your DD where she could live, have her own living space, and be in the company of other people in the 'common area' if she chooses, while also under the supervision of reputable in-house staff to care for their safety and needs as well as on-call doctors for any meds needed or health concerns once your time comes and you and DH are either not able to care for her or are gone?
Many of them also have buses to take residents out for supervised shopping or appointments, or day-trips to the zoo or other attractions to make their lives more like the norm they're used to.
They also have crafting days, or movie nights, etc. There are a lot of reputable and recommended places in almost any city, state, province.
It's something you might want to research now.

Since winter weather is on it's way for next week, we went for a fall picnic today at one of the state park lakes. Beautiful day in the mid 60s, lots of sun and slight wind. We used our new picnic basket then washed the plates and utensils and put it away for next year.
I hate to see the weather change so quickly, I dread the long cold grey days and it gets dark so early. Oh well, no whining in the world is going to change things.

Cleaned up cat puke first thing this morning. Made breakfast and cleaned the kitchen. Cleaned up more cat puke after they smelled breakfast cooking. Little critics!

I had physical therapy again this morning. I know have a week off to see if the level of pain comes back or if doing the exercises at home will be enough to keep things from getting worse. Also call the PCP and told her to find me an open MRI place as I canceled the last appt. since they didn't.
Did a little shopping and bought a long red sleeveless sweater, then had dinner at Logans.
