This morning we took Dhs little car to the body shop for a $400 repair. Then called granite fabrication company because they had not called back with a quote. HUH? quote was $7K for the kitchen. Back to the granite company to pick out something far less expensive. I think the quote will come in at about $4K.
Had lunch at Mc Donalds, then at 3PM we meet with travel agent to pick up travel documents for Sept. 15.
Lady across street is picking up her new Buick Enclave this afternoon, can't wait to see it.

Read the paper while doing laundry. Caught up on some paperwork and checkbook balancing.
Picked up a video from the library.
The past week was "do other activities other than regular exercises". Tomorrow is back at it.
Coming up is apple preparation and storage. I usually end up eating the baked goods. I need a ricer so I can do applesauce. I eat a lot of that.
I'm off to find a ricer.

Pat....I'm glad that you're seeking some respite care. Don't want to see you burn out taking care of Sue Anne and the house/yard/dogs/canning/shopping/MIL stuff etc.
I hope that you'll use the respite time as time for you to relax/recharge/have some real quiet time. What does your DH have to say about all of this? I'd guess when things get tough with your DD it's hard having him away?
hang in there kiddo....

You don't need a ricer. Just run it through your blender. That's how I make my applesauce! Not nearly so much work that way!

I didn't feel good today so I slept until I had to get up and go to work. I did clean the litter pans and fed and watered the cats. They are always my first priority.

Yesterday I worked on apples and forgot to mash the applesauce. It will be tasty anyhow. I made bread pudding out of a forgotten loaf of zucchini bread and some of the apples. Today, so far, the furnace came on . I tidied up the house. Started warm up for tennis drills; and after that I will watch a DVD from the library, while I relax and eat lunch. And back to the apples. I am really hoping the zoo will call me back and say yes, we would love your apples. Since this is a holiday weekend, probably not until next week. Then back to paring apples and freezing them.

I've sewn some quilt blocks together, and have now watched the first half of the Husker football game. DH is putting a Walmart pre made pizza in the oven. Will spend the rest of the afternoon/evening watching college football.
Yea Huskers!!!
Anyway, I've just used my new Ninja and made crumbs for meat loaf etc. from 1/2 pkg of pork rinds and 1/2 pkg. of knock off corn chips. I've also just heated my first package of ziti pasta and am letting it cool and then I will do another package and out it all into a Good Grips storage container.
Now, it's either time for more college football or a good movie on Lifetime network.
For those who care, or even if you don't, the news media is saying that Joan Rivers is on life support.

I went to our ladies monthly tea party this AM, then we decorated the club house with fall decorations. Came home, had lunch, reminded the builder that we still needed the electrician about the under cabinet lights in the kitchen. Builder told me he remembered someone needed the electrician he just didn't remember who it was.
Electrician came, checked the lights, complete junk and they don't work anymore. Spent $200 at Lowes to buy new LED ones, electrician came back and installed all 4 of them. Can't wait to see what they look like when it gets dark in a hour.
Fixed pasta for dinner, went and got a cup of ice cream. Now I need to find out if there is anything worth watching tonight on TV.

Over this weekend got some things done: Of course, rode my horse, she went well. Picked peaches and made 2 cobblers and cut up the rest for eating Baked zucchini and banana breads to freeze. Got huge zucchinis from friend...will freeze the rest. Made sun tea and mixed it with lemonade that we had....homemade "Arnold Palmers" Changed sheets, washed and hung on the lines with the rest of the laundry. Ironed pants for work. Brought empties to the redemption center(most from work)...I put this money/change in an envelope....just a silly little pastime of mine. Did food shopping/deal getting at Tops and WM Put together care package for DS before his student teaching was to begin this week. DH and I tied up the tomato plants and started harvesting....it took awhile for ours to turn red. Cleaned my bathroom, our bedroom. Swept the wood floors and polished the furniture. Layed in the hammock for awhile while DH split wood.....love watching him do that

1. Took my 14 year old cat to the vets because there was blood every where when I got up. She had tumors all through her uterus and they took it out. Now pray the tumors were not cancerous. 2. Went to work anyway. 3. Took a bag of garbage out.

This weekend was beautiful, really enjoyed it: Picked peaches again. Made stuffed zucchini with tomatoes from the garden. Cold packed a bunch of tomatoes. Baked a vanilla cake Grilled marinated chicken Made burgers from ground chicken...came out better than I expected Rode the horse....went great...again. Used the last 8 of my $1/1 Tidy cats coupons to get 80 lbs of cat litter for about 60 cents. Laundry done and dried on the lines as the weather was perfect. Walked and picked up corn on the cob from the farm down the road. Picked gladiolus from my garden and made a nice arrangement for the dining room table. Cleaned out dill plants from pot on the deck.

Monday did some trail riding with my horse which was a nice change.
After work stopped at CVS and used EBs to buy 1.0L Listerine for $0.54 which I paid for with a GC. Hit Tops for Finish dishwasher tabs. Got (2) 32 count boxes for about $1.77/box. Sale on Hefty freezer bags with coupons came to about $0.79 per box.
Grabbed more tomatoes from the garden and did some more cold pack canning. We ate leftover chicken and corn for dinner.

We left the house this morning @ 6:45 headed to the VA Medical Center. At least it's only 15 minutes away. Finally got home about 2PM. Dh had is endoscopy and sigmoid colonoscopy. He definitely has ulcerative colitis, but the real news (to me at least) is that there is another area of concern where a sample was taken for biopsy. I looked it up, I'm not telling DH what I found out as with his personality he just believes you take care of things and why worry if you can't change it? Me......tie me to the bed, I'm going to go nuts.....We leave for our trip at 5 AM Monday morning, and I'm not going to have any thing alter our special time...after all, we are celebrating our 50th anniversary by taking this trip.
We had lunch out at our favorite chicken place and have enough for dinner and a sandwich.
I'm about done for today....wake me when all this stuff is over.

Last night DH, SIL and I cut up 2 1/2 bushels of Romas to make puree today. Added our basil and hot peppers. DH will start cooking this am and after work we'll do the squeezing and canning. Harvested more tomatoes for cold packing also.
