I have one more strip of quilt blocks to attach to a quilt under construction. Then I need to get the batting & backing laid out and get it ready to sandwich together. I usually do 4-5 tops first then do all the other work as the 4x8 table has to come down from the wall in the garage to get them ready for quilting.
These quilts are all donation ones and will be given to my small quilt group and turned over to the local fire dept. in the town where we used to live.
But I digress, then after I finish this top, I'm going to make myself a little name tag to wear to our community activities. I'm tired of wearing an old one that look awful.
And we're still waiting for the tree company to trim a tree of our neighbors that is hanging over our fence and backyard. Should of been here Friday but didn't show as they were convinced we were going to have thunderstorms all day. Yea right, they just wanted an extra day off for the weekend. Who know they might make it a 4 day weekend at this rate.

Gee thanks, BG, you just reminded me I have to finish my quilt block for DD's quilt. I don't get it done (ok, started and completed) by Tuesday evening it's not getting into the quilt. My great aunt has a quilt group that meets every Wed around lunch time and they're about to put this quilt together. It's everyone's name embroidered by them on a block and the aunt decided family should have theirs in it too. My mom even got hers done. <<sigh>> This is DD's IDK what number quilt. She spent lots of time over summers and after school with the "old ladies" from toddler sized forward.

Okay what I done today.......I got up early and headed to Ikea, found out that they do have a parts section, it's in the return area and they will mail me the two needed screws to finish my table for FREE.
Then I headed out to Costco to look at HDTVs.
I'm home and pooped.

As I was turning off the lights and unplugging the iron to leave my sewing room.....I discovered 10 more lengths of fabric that needed to be cut into smaller pieces. I still have about 60 more blocks to sew together into 4 strips, then sew the strips on the top.

I made some important phone calls today. One was with my tax season employer and they want me back. I said yes. Another was to order a prescription medication that if I order online costs $80. Since it is the mail order pharmacy making the substitution of a name brand drug for the generic ordered by my doctor, I only have to pay $15. Now I can't remember what the 3rd one was, but it was important. Got my Swagbucks goal done early today. May or may not hit it tomorrow because I will be busy most of the day. Also did my volunteer rep payee work for August. That always feels good. Got two Amazon returns ready and now it's time to get the trash and recycling out to the curb. After that I need to make my grocery list for when I go to town tomorrow.

I killed a skeeter in the shower BEFORE it could bite me. HA! Take that, you dead insect!!! I spent a good 5 minutes getting on and off the scale. (Don't judge, it's an official weigh-in day and I was going for best 2 out of 3)
I went and got my hair cut. (Yes, I did contemplate getting weighed AGAIN) Came home, breakfasted. Been Facebooking, etc. The radishes in the fridge are calling my name for me to come prep them ....... I may have to silence them with a sharp, pointy knife. Dang, I never thought of that.

I jumped in the pool to get all those little tickly hairs off when you get your hair cut.
I prepped 4 bunches of radishes. I shucked 5 ears of corn.
(Random comment ... I like that word, "shucked.")
I got a phone call from my wonderful DH ... yay. (He's deployed, so phone calls make me especially happy!)
I got completely muddy trying to adjust the hose sprinkler set up to water the tomatoes. So I rinsed off my muddy shoes and they are now drying in the garage, where it's astonishingly similar to the surface of the sun.
I dragged the trash can and the recycle bin out to the curb, all the while wondering if I've got the world's heaviest garbage and cardboard, or if I am a complete and total wuss. Then I glanced in both and saw all the heavy trash/recycylables I'd tossed in for the last week and had completely forgotten about it.
I went swimming.
Of course, I did various cat rescue things ... Facebooking, adoption applications, emails, phone calls, etc.
I listened to the soundtrack from the Musical, Cats. Yesterday, it was The Book of Mormon. On Sunday, it was Les Miserables. Apparently I'm on a Broadway Musicals kick at the moment.

I did 2 letters of my name on the quilt block last night. Only six more to go tonight. It'll look like a 6 year old did it but it'll be done.

I went to 2 grocery stores, unloaded the SUV and put them away. Amazon delivered my food care package of things I can't find locally, unfortunately, my pantry is getting full. I may have to break down and use the very top shelf before long. That's the one that takes a step stool to get me up there.
I worked on my quilt again today, an as yesterday, I started thinking something wasn't right with it, I shouldn't be running short of fabric.....well, it seems as though this old quilt lady put the outer blocks on like piano keys rather than running them length wise. My choices are to rip the whole thing apart and resew it, or, not put on the very outer blocks and call it done. I'm seriously thinking I'm going to call it done. It's a fire dept. donation quilt and no one will ever know. I've made this pattern 2 times before, I just don't know where my head was.
I fixed dinner tonight: sweet corn, celery sticks stuffed with crème cheese, cucumber, garlic roll and mini chicken pot pie.
OH, and the plumber didn't come to fix my sink and the tree people didn't show to trim the tree.

Oh goodie. Somebody cares.
I woke up way too early 5:45 a.m. Prepare for the day. Gym, tennis, home, compose letter, lunch, shower, nap, read book outside while laundry runs, stay out of DH's way on his project, meditation program part 2, k/a nachos for dinner. Try to find additional burned calories for my logging and I did.
Cruising my PEEPs thinking I need to be outside or elsewhere than this computer.

Hmmm, today I went to my job to pick up some important papers. Went to the doctor. Came home to pick up some items I needed to return. Dropped off a prescription. Returned a pair of shoes. Witnessed a fender bender just as I got in my car to leave the store and waited until the police arrived because the young lady whose car was hit asked me to. Went to another store, returned some items and purchased some more. Picked up my prescription and came home.
Dragged the trash can from the curb, checked the mail and introduced myself to the new neighbors next door since we were outside at the same time. Unloaded the car of the things I bought and other junk I had in the car. Put a load of clothes in the washer. Unloaded and reloaded the dishwasher. Put most of the the things I'd bought away. Made copies of the important papers from my job and put the ones I need to return to them in my car so I won't forget them tomorrow. Sat down and started reading the boards. Moved the clothes from the washer to the dryer. Chatted with my Mom on the phone. Gave DD her mail when she stopped by. Read the boards some more. Now I'm going to bed because my alarm will go off at 4:45am tomorrow. The clothes will spend the night in the dryer.
Very boring day, but if I hadn't typed that out I'd have thought the only thing I did today was go to the doctor. I still didn't do much, but maybe my lazy days aren't quite as lazy as I think. I'll try to do better next time.

I filled the bird bath. I filled the bird feeders. I filled the squirrel feeder. I filled the hummingbird feeder. I watered tomatoes out front. I watered tomatoes out back. I brought in the garbage can and the recycling can from the curb.
A friend's husband came over (twice) to change my programmable sprinklers because I am (a) inept; (b) technologically challenged; and (c) stressed because my wonderful DH is deployed. The City just changed the watering rules and there's a $500 fine for watering on the wrong day. EEEEK! Anyway, that's taken care of.
I swam twice, and will hit the pool again in a bit. It's been HOT here (upper 90s today) and without a/c, it's nice to get cool in the pool. (We have a/c, but I am in conservation mode during the daytime. I do reserve the right to turn it on to sleep, or if it's 105 or over outside)
I checked the credit card balance and did some other online banking-y things. I also checked online for my mail order RX status.
Of course, I did animal rescue things on Facebook and online. And emails. And phone calls.
I made a grocery list for Thursday.
I ate breakfast, lunch and dinner and cleaned up afterward. (I never forget to eat, LOL!)
I spoke with my wonderful DH on the phone .... SQUUEEEEE! That ALWAYS makes my day!!!

Let's see.... Overslept, preened, packed ice water, snacks and coffee for the office. Drove to the office. Opened the office. Checked caller ID, put food and water into the mini fridge, posted a daily picture on my agency FB page, lurked at 3 competitors FB pages, checked in here, when through 10 email messages, emailed the ATV club logo to a member, checked my bank balances, refined the grocery list by checking out today's sales, looked for applicable coupons, finished my coffee, made a difficult phone call to a title company re: a client's check, emailed my corporate office about the difficult phone call because it's their fault, wrote in my food journal.... My computer was basically down for two days, and am now behind. Next up: 8 quotes, and a huge stack of files.

We went out for breakfast this morning. Then later this AM I did the stitch ripping on the donation quilt and took off one side I had already sewn on. I've decided I will go back and put the outer border on correctly to make it just a little larger, and no one will ever know the difference.
Had leftover breakfast for lunch then took my car to the dealer for it's weekly wash. While there, a big storm hit, thank goodness mine was still in the service bay after washing but it sure got dirty again on the way home. Straight line winds were really something.
Stopped at the Fresh Market and bought a 6# boston butt roast to make into pulled pork, and 4 first cut ribeye steaks that were on special, just got those in the freezer along with the roast.
The rest of the day I plan to do as little as possible.

Artemis....we care, we care....we really care. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Usual morning stuff then yoga class. Archery range and I finally got a good close pattern. Tonight I am half nervous/sad because of a property dispute with my brother. Healthy mindset is I will quickly and easily prevail at twice what I expect to receive in assets. I hope I can get to sleep and stay asleep tonight. I thought I whipped that insomnia into submission but it gets up every once in a while.

Up before my alarm. I know! Preened, coffee, ate a few boiled eggs, confirmed lunch w/ mom via phone, put her BD present into a gift bag, commute to the office, opened the office, messaged two friends, ended up calling one for a 30 minute gossip session, the office line started ringing by 8:15 AM, started taking calls after 9, processed two receipts from last night's shopping, checked in here, with 3 Facebook pages, and my bank accounts, doc's office called to reschedule today's appointment but their calendar system was down, read through 10 email, signed mom's BD card, checked voice mail, followed up on a few quotes, doc's office called again, bound a new auto quote (YAY ME!!!), listened to the same client have a meltdown for the 3rd day in a row, processed ID cards for a client's new vehicle... **inhale** ...checked Donna F's page, and one other money related website, took a request for a 10 million umbrella policy (again, YAY ME!), processed and faxed evidence of insurance for a client's new rental property, texted my sis, mom, a client, and a fellow ATV club member, chatted with the phone book delivery dude, accepted a small and reg size phone book and gave him an iced tea to go, checked in here, talked to sis, processed snail mail, attempted to fax a client's insurance certificate but no fax or human is on the other end of the line.... And now off to the big city for lunch w/ mom, sis, and the nieces.

I changed the sheets on the bed and did 2 loads of laundry. I then spent the afternoon working on this dumb name tag. I've made this pattern before and it still sucks!!! I made it because we wear name tages to our monthly community dinners and breakfasts. I hate the paper things that fit into a plastic thing with a clip that damages clothes. And it only took me 2 days to do this thing.

Are you still doing the "What I did today" thing? If so, I'd like to add my "things" to your page.
Today 8/1/14, I:
1. Filled 5 water bottles.
2. Got the spaghetti out of the freezer for supper after work. I work 5-9 at a grocery store.
3. Had breakfast, Red Rose tea and a peanut butter sandwich.
4. Changed my table setting for August.
5. Cleaned the two litter boxes.
6. Fed and watered the cats.
7. Had cottage cheese and fruit for lunch.
8. Showered, got dressed and went to work.
9. Had the spaghetti.
10. Doing my computer thing.

A blogger I regularly read suggested making a list of 3 priority, get done today things. So far it has worked for me (2 days) AND I have even done a couple smal 2-5 minute things NOT on my list both day.
Will have to see how this goes but a couple other things I have tried I did not keep up with.

As long as I keep posting what I have done, I can get it done. If I don't post, I don't do anything because I don't think anyone cares what I do. Today, 8/4/14, I: 1. Had to take off work because my granddaughter went to camp and there was no one that my son and his wife trust to take care of the 4 boys, twin 7 year olds -3 year old and 6 month old. I started out at 7:15 this morning and haven't had a rest until about 5 this evening. I am bushed. 2. Cleaned the litter pans before I went over and made sure the cats had water and food. 3. Punched holes in my notebook paper because I wanted colored paper and no one has any. I found tablets with colored paper and that is what I got. 4. I still need to spray Dawn on everything because they have fleas and he won't get anything natural to get rid of them. He insists on getting flea bombs and putting them off. I have to tape my door off so it doesn't come over here and make my cats and me sick. 5. I am going to bed shortly after I finish my journals and reading. 6. I have to watch the kids all week. Pray for me that I don't lose it.

It is late and I am tired. I have been watching the kids and working and nothing else is getting done. I will be so happy to see my granddaughter when she gets home Saturday and will be with the three boys on Monday. I just have to watch the baby when she is there. She does everything else.

Yesterday I was going to do a simple sewing project. That somewhat ended when I spent an hour fighting my machine and finally took it into the dealer. I received a short lesson on exactly what I had been doing wrong. Of course DH had to be sitting there laughing the entire time.
I eventually finished a little quilted case, including a buttonhole for my iPhone & iPad cords when traveling.
