Former high school classmate of mine (who's life is so drama filled I keep her as a friend purely for entertainment purposes)
"Can my daughter have a short notice play-date with someone today? Anyone? I got a last minute appointment to get my tattoo worked on and I need a play-date for her"
No one responds so she comments "maybe I can buy her an app on my iphone and she can entertain herself at the tattoo parlor" Finally someone says "so and so can babysit if you can pay him"
She responds with "no thanks, I can't afford that"
Um- you can afford the tattoo and the iPhone but not $10-$20 for a babysitter for your 6 year old?
WTF. Priorities, some people just don't have them.
Last year I opted to not donate to her "go fund me" site to send her older son to a private school after he got expelled from public school.

What's sad is that she doesn't have any close friends on fb that are brave enough to call her out on her bs.

Nope- they all pander to her. It's a continuous thing of them patting her on the head and commiserating with her.
She had a post about having to do a psych evaluation as part of her nursing license last week. She pretty much failed and said the bad evaluation could prevent her from renewing her license. 94 comments from people patting her on the head and bitching about the "Man" and bs tests and what a wonderful person she is.
DH calls her "community towel girl" since as part of their hippie dippie movement they find toilet paper to be bad for the environment so they um, use towels and rags and keep a bin in the bathroom next to the toilet to collect the dirty ones so they can was them and re-use them. Makes me throw up in my mouth a little bit every time I think of it. Hope, no thanks.
Don't even get me started on her "open marriage" and intimacy issues that she shares with everyone and her grandma (literally)

Rukh- I'm about 6 of her posts away from deleting her. But our 20 year reunion is in August so I may wait until after that so I am current with her story before I run into her.

It's similar to the ego boost I get every time I shop in Walmart.
No matter how bad my day is I know that I don't have to use a "family towel" instead of toilet paper and I instantly cheer up

I've been afraid to ask. Last time she explained it she called it a "family towel" so I'm thinking maybe? I honestly don't know. It's her, her DH, her 16 year old son and her 6 year old daughter.
I really try to block that but DH finds her trainwreck story fascinating and will ask "any news out of family towel lately?"

Isn't it worse for the environment when you use a shitload of soap and water to clean off the skid marks?

Just unfollow her for awhile and then when you need some entertainment you can stalk her page I may or may not have several family members like this. Hahah!

There's a lady on extreme cheapskates that lives near us actually and uses the "family cloth" as well as reusable feminine products. No worse than washing cloth diapers, honestly, and a lot less waste, but I can't get over the ick factor.

The "cup" she had a link one time talking about the new colors she ordered and a lengthy discussion on how long they last, pros and cons of different brands, etc.
To each their own I guess.

I had one moderately entertaining though essentially annoying Facebook friend who used to post rants about the skanky behavior of her RL friends, but then she found Jesus (apparently he had wandered off somewhere), and now she's annoying in a different, less entertaining way.

DH has this fb friend from high school that back in the day (Anne Rice, Interview with a Vampire) was convinced she was a vampire. Now she's a super religious, hs teacher and calls her students her "kiddies" and wears only pastels. He keeps wanting to ask her "so does this mean you aren't a vampire anymore?"

I used to work with a girl who was a member of VLARP (I think that is the right organization). Anyway, after she stopped working there her name some how came up in conversation when my whole team went out to lunch one day. Another co-worker and I were telling our supervisor about how this girl was a member of VLARP and her response was "OMG! I can't believe she was a vampire."

I hope this chic does not brag about her "family towel" on FB. That is about an 11 on the upchuck factor.

Yeah, but we're uber cheap not uber gross and I've not heard of them either! I've heard of people who don't flush every time to save on water in various countries - but not that.

When I lived in the dorm in college back when dinosaurs roamed the Earth, there was a weird girl on our floor who believed (or at least claimed) she was a vampire. Fortunately, she was rather stupid, so she was not so much sinister as she was just ... odd and a little baffling. She used to wear a long black cloak and hide in the utility closet, then leap out at people. Her timing was bad, though, or she got tangled up in the cloak or something, so her "victim" was generally several steps past the closet but the time she managed to pounce. It wasn't long before people started surreptitiously watching the utility closet to see when she went into it because apparently she was the only one who had not noticed that the door locked from the outside.
