What about the mod for WIR? Is he/she still around? On the rare occasions when I've thought a mod was needed there, I've gone and hunted up chiver or Mmhmm or SL, because I can usually find them fairly easily. And usually it's helping to shut down a thread the OP's stated they're done with or posts not displaying. The WIR admin is not really an "admin" position like the others. It was meant as a group id, so that the various regional captains could create and update things, but all under the same name. It's more of a functional ID than anything.
Unfortunately, the last I heard was that no one knew what the password was, and the person whose ID it was set up under (coffeegirl, I think?) wasn't around to assist in getting it reset. I can't change the email on the account- has to be the owner of the ID. So, that's why you haven't seen that logged into for a long time. I will have to talk to nasagreen, who was the one who wrote me about the password issue, and see what she wants to do. She hasn't really been around either.
I really don't feel that board needs an actual moderator though. I think it could work fine to just use 'report to mod', or PM someone, when something's needed.
973beachbum and Ratchets, thank you for volunteering. the OP has been updated.
I may be going senile, but I would swear I have seen posts by Coffeegirl recently, maybe on Smart Spending?

I would absolutely like to continue being a moderator for YM.
I have always loved this community; having been a member for nearly a decade. I've stated repeatedly that many of my most meaningful relationships are with the folks on this board; and that I truly care about the people here.
I've done my best to be a protector as well. I have helped posters remove geotags in photos that they didn't know were there. I have privately advised posters who inadvertently posted a little more than they intended to (ex. something identifiable traced back).
I hope you will allow me to continue to serve.

Coffeegirl hasn't been on for quite awhile. she was a Northeast regional captain that chose to take a break for reasons I don't feel comfortable sharing. I'm not sure I should have been told why, either, but I was a regional captain at the time. sorry I don't have more info to share.

Ombud I don't believe they are the same. Yes the nics are very similar, but that's where it ends.

Coffeegrl here. No, I am not the same person as Coffeegirl. I did not realize when I chose my name at the beginning of these boards that someone else had one so similar, or I would have chosen differently.

So if a mod is voted out, will they be removed? How will we know if they are voted out or will the votes be secret?

I'm sorry. not trying to be snarky but i really think the answers to those questions will be obvious.
i am not 100% how i'll be setting up the poll just yet, but i will probably put it up either today or tomorrow since it seems all interested parties have come forward. then i'll leave it up until around Wed of next week, most likely.
I have the option of showing the standings all the time, not until after you've voted, or not until the poll closes. no one can see who voted for what - only how many have voted for that choice.
and just as an fyi, we have some plugin or another that interferes with poll creation, so when i do it i will have to disable all the plugins temporarily. just don't want anyone thinking things are broken.

Just my opinion, but I would keep the votes hidden until voting is over. Seeing the votes before that could make things messy. People may start trying to round up votes for or against someone based on the standings.

A. If someone here actually takes the time to go "round up" votes, THEY should be voted off island just for being an idiot.
B. What is a plug-in?

I agree, but it seems a few on here have rather strong feelings about who should & shouldn't be a mod. I could see PMs being sent about "so & so is winning, let's all vote for X to make sure they don't get to be mod"

LOL! I don't know if anyone would do that or not, Angel, but it's certainly not outside the realm of possibility. I suppose if someone felt strongly enough for or against a candidate, it's no different that banging on doors at election time! I guess I was thinking you meant the present mods might go around begging for votes, and I couldn't see any of them doing that. Your post was clear. I just didn't read well enough.

I'm sure there's already been a lot of PMing, working on stacking the deck against certain people. i can't stop that, but I CAN prevent them from seeing if it's working, at least.
Green Eyed Lady- plugins have replaced all the old header and footer codes the old version used, to do things like: the colored names extra smilies the collapsible categories spellcheck the 'back to top' arrow
etc....

No spellchecker? ? ? ? Ouch
EDIT: reread. Only while you are creating the poll, not the duration of the poll, right?

Though anyone dumb enough to try and influence voting on this site would get a virtual whack upside the head from me for doing it. Sheesh, you'd think people had better things to do.

Great to see that one of the potential mods has a huge issue with an entire group of us here...if he gets voted in will off of his rants towards me and the "desperate housewives" be allowed or tolerated?

Uh oh, I told someone I voted for them. I didn't think it was a secret to be kept. But in my favor I didn't say DON'T vote for someone else who needs to be gone from moderating.
