I would like to stay on as an IBB Mod.
Also, I would like to put forth that MOD E90 be kept on (if he is so willing) at IBB. He is one of the old hands & well liked.

laterbloomer, i can't answer the question until i know who's interested to begin with. if, say, i wish to have 2-3 mods per major board, and the only 2 interested are the existing mods, then what do you think is going to happen? and you ARE still stirring the pot because everyone knows you hate SL. so it's perfectly obvious you want her gone, without taking the extra step of asking "How do we vote to get rid of bad mods?"
I worded that as nicely as possible without singling her out and you don't even appreciate my efforts.

I volunteer to be considered as a mod for YM, since that's my favorite board. I'm retiring at the end of June, and it would be a new interest for me. I also try to be pretty reasonable most of the time, although I admit that once in awhile, I slip out of line. I'm not a bad actor, though, and am pretty compassionate. If I'm on vacation for several days, I probably wouldn't be able to do much moderating. I think YM needs a good crew of mods because it's a very active board. Also, bribes of free lottery tickets for a million Barsooms backed by the Interplanetary Ruling Congress of Mars are offered.

For those who apply, a willingness to commit 60 minutes a week would probably be a good baseline. The actual amount of time spent will typically be less than this on any given week, but it pays to be prepared. Really? I always got the feeling that it was a lot more time than an hour. That's probably bc some mods made it seem like they are spending tons of time trying to keep up this place. Some people like to let everyone know of their "accomplishments" moon/Laura - I know each board has it's own mod, but it seems that some are moderating EVERYWHERE. Can you explain how that aspect suppose to work? The reason I am asking is bc while I don't visit certain boards and theoretically wouldn't really care who moderates them, if that board's moderator heavily moderating in places where I do yo, I will certainly be more choose about how I vote. Does it make sense?

I'm down with Nazgul as a YM mod. MidJD too - even though that means I will lose a frequent ally in our fight against the darkness if she has to be neutral on stuff and stuff...

As far as moderating? Of course. Although in all honesty some of the peeps there know far more about our political process than do I.
I'm good with that. The day you stop learning...

Anyone that gets elected to Moderator, I'll start a learning forum so you get the hang of the Admin Panel.

I think different people are here for different amounts of time. I'm here a lot more than an hour a week, but I don't work and am pretty much house-bound with mother's care. Others have lives!

I have a test forum that can be used for that. There's also the help guide on the support forum that can -and should- be referenced. sent from my Galaxy S4

I don't think that's particularly important, really. It's more about seeing the ToS and CoC are upheld and people don't start verbally tearing one another's throats out.

whoisjohngalt- the reason that everyone is everywhere right now is due to the shortage in certain areas. YM is a good example. But, even if we take care of that problem, there will still be times when something may blow up and no assigned mod for that board is available. Therefore, someone else may have to step in. sent from my Galaxy S4

I'll throw my hat in, though I dunno where I'll fit in, since P&M ain't really me.
UPDATE : Specific Board for me either YM or EE.
I've been a Admin/Mod on Boards on Proboards since July 2011. I'm more technical than anything else. I have my own Boards on Proboards, 4 of them actually, but their for coding.
All the best to everyone putting their hat in the ring. Moon is a fantastic Root Admin.

The OP has been updated with who mods where, who's being replaced, how many are needed, and who's expressed interest thus far.

I read "down with" as in "I'm ok with those two" vs throwing in herself as well since she mentions losing an ally. Pants might want to chime in!

I spend most of my time on YM and Smart Spending, so I'm willing to do YM. Back in the days of mIRC I was a mod on a couple of those channels.....oh what a time that was! Also retired so usually around during the day. However, I may be old, but I never forget!!! Now, what did I just volunteer for?
...I'm also cheap and will not condescend to offer anyone a bribe to vote for me.

I will volunteer to continue to moderate P&M and it's sub boards if people so desire. I could also mod Current events (or anywhere) as needed. As others have noted, we could use conservative P&M mod(s) as balance. The original line up was ideologically balanced in theory, but a couple of them dropped out. And, if elected, I promise a chicken in my and pot. There, fixed it for ya. Now you'll get *many* more votes

I'd like to have plenty to choose from. We need more for EE and PM, and we have no one for current events (though deminmaine said he was willing)..

I volunteer for PM (although I may be considered too liberal) or YM if there are more mods needed.
I don't really want to run in an election though because I don't feel I am more worthy of the role than the current mods or those that have already thrown their hat in the ring. I would hate to take one of their spots.

If you need another I could likely do EE. I'm not really too argumentative, and the few times I've been to EE, it seems like a nice place for varied topics. I'm also a bleeding heart conservative, but I won't talk politics with anyone.
