welcome Saving4Norway! feel free to jump in. Our thread has died quite a bit, but there are still a few of us around. congrats again missk82! I hope you find something that works for you to keep mom and baby nice and healthy! I've got 2 body weight workouts in this week (planning another tonight), kept my steps at over 10k, even when working late. My Dr. gave me some great exercises/stretches that will help with the muscle tightness I'm still having (though my progress has been AMAZING!) and i am hopeful they will have me feeling even better soon! hope everyone has a safe halloween and a great weekend!

Not my best week. Felt ill most of the week. Only 76992 steps. No strength training.
Goals for this week--steps back up to 87500. Keep water intake up. At least one attempt at strength training.
Welcome Saving4Norway,
Have a great week everyone.

I just cannot get my head in the game. Stress eating- I can't get control. I've been working so much and am frustrated and miserable so I eat something to make me feel better, but duh. That doesn't work! I am working hard to keep my steps up... But it surely isn't enough. Ugh!

I have been self-sabotaging my progress. I get in my steps but do not eat properly. I sometimes think I am afraid of losing weight. Today is the anniversary of my sister’s death from cancer. She had lost a lot of weight, thinking it was because of breast feeding. One of the last conversations if she could go back to being heavy but no cancer she would. I think this is one of the reasons I struggle.

Now that the weather is colder and I can't do as much outside, I feel like my motivation to get up in the mornings is coming back. Weird, I know. But before it got cold and crappy out, I would take an hour or longer walk outside each day and could rationalize that I was fine. Now that it's getting cold enough I don't even want to walk to work, I'm back to getting up in the mornings and working out more consistently. We'll see how long this lasts.
And yes, I know, the weather is only going to get worse before it gets better! UGH!

I haven't lost an ounce since summer started. I'm actually up two pounds. I also find that with warm weather, soups and stews filled with veggies are really hitting the spot. So it tends to be a little healthier in that regard. I just have to keep away from the bread that pairs so nicely with it!

I can completely see why you'd subconsciously self-sabotage given that situation. Don't be too hard on yourself. Set your goals just keep going. That's all any of us can do.

Since I got back from my Disney cruise in October I have been drinking a lot more water (still not enough) and eating many more fruits than I had before. I hate the fact that my belly fat pooches out over my pants and my neck has gotten more fat on it. The stomach I can hide but the neck I can't and it really bothers me so I am trying to eat healthier and exercise more. I actually find that I "want" to eat fruit instead of chips, cookies, etc. some days.
I am 5'8" and weigh 143 lbs so I am not overweight just out of shape.

This week it's been unbelievably cold and windy in the Pacific NorthWest. Our town was out of power for a couple of days so I broke my streak of going to the gym daily (M-F). As a consequence I registered a .6 pound gain at WW this week. It was actually probably less than that because I also switched to a long-sleeve and long pants wardrobe but still, I would have gained.
I fear that now that I've broken my streak, I'll start getting lazy about going 5 days a week. It's enabled me to lose 13 pounds and 1.5 dress sizes so I really want to keep it up. I've set out my gym clothes for the week which helps me get out the door. We'll see how it goes.

It may not be a 10 week streak yet, but I've got 2 days in a row now for my new streak and I have everything set up to go again tomorrow morning. Hopefully I'll be firmly back in the saddle by the end of the week.

Wtg Norway! I have been working hard to get my 10k+ steps in, despite the weather and long hours army work. I am short today... Will make up for it tomorrow. Hopefully the cold weather will kick me into gear... 3 months until vacation!

This thread has been pretty dead lately... I am battling a sinus and bronchial infection and have been mainlining chicken soup loaded with salt and bread... Lots of bread. I am up 6 pounds... Hoping that most of that is water weight. Started a dietbet today... That should get me back on track. Hope everyone had a good holiday!

I am back to using my fitness pal and wanted to lose 8 pounds by Christmas. It's not going to happen because I love food. But I have been better at staying close to my calorie limit.

8 pounds by Christmas seems tough... But I am aiming for something similar. If I can just get and stay well, that would help. I am winded from just walking a few blocks and have zero energy.
I think it could be possible for us!

Ugh! As if getting motivated isn't hard enough! Chronic fatigue syndrome sounds awful! Do you find you have more energy when you've be been working out? I just had bloodwork done a couple of weeks ago and I am a mess... Super anemic, deficient in vitamin d and b-12 as well as having some other issues that contribute to a crappy immune system and a grand lack of energy. Working with my Dr. To get everything balanced again... But dragging ass in the meantime! I have 8 pounds to lose for dietbet this month... So I am in it to win it. Sent from my Nexus 10

Working out does help some. I worked 7 days in a row with rotating shifts and then stayed up late the night before Thanksgiving and then got up early Thanksgiving, then worked Friday and ran errands with my mom so by Saturday I was sick from being so tired. I slept from 10am to 2pm in a deep sleep. I need to get back to working out on a regular basis to see if it helps.

hugs to those struggling.
I have not been tracking my weight. Got on the scale this morning. I would like to get my weight back to 150 by year end which means I have 7 pounds to lose. What an eye opener. Goals for the week 87,500 steps. Get water intake back on track. Watch stress eating.
Off to get in some steps.
Have a great week.

I can't decide if I want to spend the $35 a month for the fitness center or not. I could use the elliptical and bike whereas I only have a treadmill at home. I like to use the treadmill there also because it goes up higher on speed than mine does. But I usually spend the money and then get sick or don't have the time to get there. So I guess I will see.

Just an idea, dolphins, maybe see if you can get into a regular routine on your treadmill at home... Once you are successful with that, then join the gym... You'll be more likely to use the amenities I'd you are already in the routine.
I am going to do yoga tonight. My entire body hurts from laying around and coughing for several days.

It is a nice Colorado day today so I think I am going to try to take my somewhat overweight dog out on two walks - that will give both of us exercise.

I decided to go ahead and go to the fitness center this month. I thought having the elliptical and bike to work on might motivate me to go and give me extra workouts so I can meet my goal.
So today I took the dog for a 20 minute walk, went on a 30 minute walk myself, walked on the treadmill for 15 minutes (I tried to run but realized I didn't wait long enough after I ate to go), and did 30 minutes on the elliptical.
I also ate 500 calories over my 1200 calories (that myfitnesspal says I need to meet my goal) because my mom gave me a basket of goodies (fudge, peanut clusters, etc) and I ate my fill of them.

Are you logging your workouts on myfitnesspal? If you log workouts, it adds to you coloric need. 1200 is the base assuming you do basically nothing.

Yes, I am logging my exercise on myfitnesspal also. It seems like 1200 calories is a small amount but I just eat high calorie food I guess.

weird. Mine shows me 1200... but then adds in calories when i work out. it syncs with my fitbit so it automatically gets calories burned from there usually MFP allows me between 1400-1500 a day when it accounts for workouts.
