I didn't get a proper workout in tonight... DH and I made a quick trip to walgreens to return some netflix and his cousin was getting a movie so we all started chatting... an hour later we finally walk out of walgreens and walk home. By that time i was starved and couldn't muster a workout first. I did briskly walk in place while watching TV after dinner. Got over 12000 steps in for the day, so not too shabby. fitbit is still giving me a pretty decent calorie deficit, so i feel okay.

Sigh. My exercise was good yesterday, as was my meal eating. Then last night I ate half a box of crackers. Today is a snow day. It's too cold for walking, and i don't plan to clean off the car for the mall. I do plan to do my kettle bells dvd, which really beats me up. I just can't eat too much. This morning on the scale...130. Boo.

hilariously, I weighed in this morning and was 187.8, just like acemom. Unlike acemom, I am thrilled to see that number as it means I'm back on track since the holiday shitshow! This is the least I've weighed since early pregnancy, and I am down 20 lbs now from when I started the carribean bet. 10-20 more to go in the next two months (which, eek, DH needs to step up and start losing a proportional amount of weight to body size here...) I didn't manage to swim last night, instead I found mouse droppings IN OUR SILVERWARE DRAWER and spent the night disinfecting everything. Getting traps is on the list for tonight. So gross. Hoping to get a big swim in tomorrow. Have a great day everyone!

Ewwwwww on the mouse droppings, bsb. I had a similar ewwwwwwwww moment recently when I opened the medicine cabinet to get my toothbrush & there was a giant water bug (looks like a cockroach but isn't) ON my toothbrush!!!! *faint* We sealed up all the holes in the cabinet after that.
I didn't make it to the gym today, but I walked through plenty of loose snow; I definitely believe it burns more calories than regular walking.

I'm amazed how some of you with kids can work out! Yes, I'm looking at you bsbound!!
I weighed in today - 204.8. Yikes! My focus is more on food right now, and yesterday and today (so far) I've made good choices! Oatmeal and milk for breakfast, coffee with a little bit of milk and sugar at work, and an apple for a midmorning snack. Lunch is a turkey sandwich with cheese wrapped in a flatbread and greek yogurt. Dinner is baked chicken with roasted red potatoes and I am going to try roasting some carrots too.
So far I've had 5/33 WW points today.

missk82 - B is almost 20 months. She sleeps through the night. In fact, she goes to bed at 6:30pm every night. It's a completely different thing than trying to work out with a baby who is only a few months old!

On the bright side, I can lay him down on a pallet on the floor for a couple of hours after he goes to sleep at night (usually around 7:30 or so) and do other things. So I walked on the treadmill last night, and I'm going to start doing that more often.

Do you plan to keep cosleeping once you stop nursing?

Do you plan to keep cosleeping once you stop nursing? Not sure. We initially didn't plan on cosleeping at all, but it was what worked. We're not anywhere close to done with nursing as C is still a milk leach, so I haven't really thought about it.

Since I started tracking my weight loss in August I have lost 16.6 pounds. The last 2 months have been a struggle. Now that the holidays are over time to eat better and keep up the exercise.

OK, I suck. I really needed to get to the gym today but didn't. No excuses, just let the morning get away from me.

hi all! i was around at the beginning of last year & see some familiar names. last year was difficult as i had so many changes and had a hard time adjusting my life accordingly. i did end the year 5 pounds and 4 inches down overall. it probably doesn't sound like much of a victory to many of you, but for me it is HUGE. if i had experienced everything from 2013 in any of the years previously, it would have totally derailed me because of the severe depression and emotional & mental wreck i used to be. i'm not without my moments, as 2013 proved that to me, but i was able to handle the challenges of 2013 without turning to food as my comfort at every single negative thought, feeling, or event. that being said, my goal this year is to get down to 200. i am 5'11" with a large bone structure (my fingers do not even come close to touching when wrapped around my wrist) so getting to 200 is a good goal for me for this year. ultimately, i would love to get down to 180-190 range but i'm trying to be realistic in my goals and know that there are more lifestyle changes i have to make to get to the ultimate goal.

welcome or welcome back to everyone!
tcu - one more thought - does C nap? DH and I will take turns going to the gym/running/etc. or go on alternate weekend days while B naps. It helps because one person gets workout time, the other gets personal-fuck-around time, and someone is there if she wakes up...
jdnstl- 5 pounds may not be "much," but 4 inches sure the heck is! I have fought to lose every single pound I lost last year due to weird hormonal crap - 5 pounds is nothing to scoff at either. Welcome back, and I hope your life calms down and things go well for you this year.
ners - do it!
I swam today for the first time in a couple weeks. Maybe even 3? I dunno. Anyway, I had my dad send me some interval workouts, where you swim different intensities in different configurations. Since lately I've been able to do 2 miles in the pool without really even breathing hard (I was tired after, but obviously not pushing myself enough) I was really surprised at how this "short" (just over 1 mile) workout KICKED MY ASS. I was exhausted by the time I was done, and am ready for some lunch. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

I went to the gym with my husband this morning. I really didn't feel like going out in the cold, but I did. Star for me!

I did make it to the gym today, which on the weekends involved schlepping a ton of stuff (long story), so I feel like I got a little extra exercise to go with my 25 minutes on the elliptical. I would also like to report that I have yet to use the Starbucks card I got for Christmas Also got a GC to a local coffee place with amazing pastries & haven't used that one either. And I found a way to get rid of the 1 lb. box of chocolates I got Temtations be gone!

Did heavy cleaning yesterday while blaring music and dancing around. That was my only "work out" as my ankles were hurting from the treking through the snow. I had a friend over for dinner last night and indulged a bit but made sure i at least had some sort of calorie deficit... even it if was only 200.

Just wanted to share a link for one of my go to desserts. It is 99 calories for one 13g carbs 2g fat 7g protein if you use 0% Fage greek yogurt and follow the recipe exactly with no sugar substitutes. Personally I like them best when cold. I either melt a little dark chocolate and drizzle it on top or have it with berries. julesfood.blogspot.com/2012/10/greek-yogurt-souffle.html

No workout for me yesterday, but we did spend all day playing local tourists to take advantage of the awesome weather. We visited (ie walked around) a Presidential Library and then the zoo. And of course DS didn't want to ride in his stroller, so I ended up carrying him through part of the zoo when he wasn't walking, so at least I was active.
I went grocery shopping today and stocked up on veggies and fruit for the week, so hopefully we eat at least relatively healthy.

Sarcastic, that recipe looks awesome. Thanks! it really is. it is very cheese cake- esque without being quite so rich. I love it and I'd totally eat it even if I weren't trying to drop some pounds!

FYI, for you spaghetti squash fans - along with some spicy turkey chili and a little bit of cheese, that dish does a bang-up impression of some 3-way Skyline chili. I am totally doing that again! oh, and I will be leaving for my hockey game in about an hour. that's my workout for today.

But, I've been jogging in place while watching tv. I did about 3 miles that way according to my fitbit. will be doing my Combat DVD later, using my new HRM... interested to see the calorie burn for that workout.

No link. just roast the squash and pour some chili over it. Top with cheese. I watch Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. Guy hit a place in Cincinnati that does up the chili over spaghetti with various toppings. The plates looked like they all had about a pound of spaghetti as the base! still, it got me thinking about how to make a healthier version. sent from my electronic distraction

Oh okay... i've never heard of spaghetti and chili before. Sounds interesting. I'd try it with spaghetti squash. It's really big in Cincinnati for whatever reason. Two famous places for it are Gold Star Chili (https://m.goldstarchili.com) and Skyline Chili (http://www.skylinechili.com/m/index.php). I've had Skyline (because that was my cousin's favorite when he and his wife lived there), and it's only okay to me. The spaghetti thing was weird, but not horrible.
