Missk- most work days I have yogurt. I eat Fage 0% Greek yogurt. It seems to have more protein than most other yogurts. You can go 2% or 4% sometimes I do. I add strawberries to mine ( I get a giant bag of frozen berries unsweetened from Costco. So I can have them year 'round) I also throw in some slivered almonds and maybe some craisens. It is a pretty hearty breakfast with a great balance if protein carbs and fat. And it is super easy and quick!
I like eggs too, which is what I have on the weekends.

I've been eating poorly lately and drinking like a fish while out, and it showed this am on the scale. had some leftover pub pizza for breakfast (from last night's trivia) and plan to spend the rest of the week having salads w/grilled proteins for dinner. between that and tons of water, hopefully I'll flush out all the toxins and some lbs while I'm at it. no hockey this weekend, but I'm heading to the regionals for the Frozen Four and we're staying next to the arena - with a pool. I think I'll pack a suit and get some laps in. need to get my ass back on track! LUCKY!!!
I'm doing well staying on track with my half marathon training. The scale hasn't budged either way, but I feel healthier and I'm more motivated to avoid the candy aisle nowadays. I did a simulated 5K race this weekend and ran it in 33:35. That's on track for a 2.5 hour half. I'll take that!
I'm also super duper excited because my hockey league starts again on Sunday, so I get back on the ice after a year hiatus. YAYAY!!!! I am switching my cross training day from Saturday to Sunday and moving the long run day to Saturday. I tried running long then playing hockey later that night. Not so good.

Great running times genericname!!! I really need to work on the protein intake. the day after I do circuits i am STARVATION CITY. seriously. I keep buying bags of jerky from walgreens but they are pricey and full of salt. I wonder if I can manage to make my own. I need to find some protein snacks that I can keep around. Otherwise I am totally not going to make it through this alive... I will end up eating my desk.

sarcasticgirl - what about nuts? roasted unsalted almonds or pistachios? when I was 100% paleo, that's what I was using for extra protein and calorie boosters. and they are healthy fats, too.

I already eat nuts (HAHAHA! ) I keep raw almonds, sunflower seeds and pepitas at my desk... I have slivered almonds with my yogurt every morning but i need more protein than that... it just isn't cutting it.

Good news is I got my walking/jogging in last night! Nothing crazy, I did just over a mile and then a few core exercises. The scale is still higher than last week - is this because of the lasagna and pie still?? Well, we've been eating the lasagna for dinner but it's homemade and not too bad I thought...boo. Tonight is book study, so no exercise planned.

sorry....have had a lot on my mind the last couple days. was just under 200 this AM. looks like I was able to minimize the damage from the past couple weeks. woot! cranking back the water lately, waking up feeling hungover isn't cool when there wasn't any boozy fun the night before. I think my body has just had enough of the dry heat in my house for the winter. it craves sunlight, fresh air, and warmer temperatures!

My update : up a freaking pound from last week and TICKED. Sorry for the lasagna and half a beer! Geez! Not sure who I'm mad at, the universe? I admit that my work outs are weak post-baby, but I worked out twice! Which is 2 times more than I have for a freaking year. Gah. Guess I need to look at my diet. And keep on working out...I do plan on upping the intensity gradually. I'm going to walk/jog every day this weekend. I want to do a workout video too, but we need a DVD player downstairs first...

Do you have a computer downstairs? or even a tablet? Youtube has workout videos!

Just about all of Jillian Michael's dvds are on youtube. I am currently doing 30 day shred. If you search Jillian Michael's, you'll get the list.
I know there is also Walk away the pounds with Leslie Sansone...
Also, you can search Sparkpeople and the workouts that coach nicole from sparkpeople posts on the website are also on youtube. There are bootcamp videos, ab videos, chair workouts etc.

Update
The last few weeks have been a little stressful. One of my siblings asked to for a short term loan. On my way to drop off the check a rock hit my windshield. Last Saturday I did not hit my step goal for the first time all month. Then one day this week i lost my temper with my supervisor and supervisor has been very cold to me since. Water intake has been low this week.
Scale has moved in the correct direction
03/29/14 147,00 03/08/14 147.8 02/22/14 148.0
Only 32513 steps left to hit 400,000 for month.
Have a great weekend everyone

I had a rough start to the week. My event planning teacher lost my half pound midterm I UPSed to her. UPS gave me the delivery confirm. So I have been sorting that stuff out

Oh geez, Mizbear, that sucks. ((Mizbear))
Why is it that it takes me 6 months to lose 5 freaking pounds but if I slip up just a little the stupid scale goes back up 2 pounds overnight? I'm on the verge of saying I don't give a crap anymore.

I found that standing in a nice steamy shower a few times a day really helped. Also tons of sleep, soup and hot tea. Sent from my Nexus 10 using proboards

Took advantage of the near 60 degree weather and sunshine today. Took Dh and the pups over for a walk along the lakefront. 3+ miles in and it was so nice!

I've been in and out, keeping up with people even if I don't post encouragement. It's nuts with a 3 year old and a 5 month old!
Can I say I love DH? He takes the kids and never complains when I sneak in my workouts. He is happy that it makes me feel good.
I've been doing well sticking with my half marathon training program. I've had to switch days here and there, and I've missed a couple, but I've gotten right back on the horse when I missed. Sometimes it isn't physically possible to do all that you would like to during the day.
So this weekend rocked the house. I did my 7-mile training run on Saturday (all sub-12 minute miles!) and I had my first day back at hockey in a year on Sunday. I can't believe how much I've missed hockey. It was so much fun last night! Can't wait for next weekend: a 12k trail race and hockey on Sunday. Gonna be tired!
All the stuff I've been doing, and zero movement on the scale. Hmphf. Stupid numbers.

Generic- have you taken measurements? It is totally possible that even though the scale hasn't moved, you've lost inches. I haven't really lost any pounds in about 6 weeks. I've bounced around within a 2 pound range. But I've lost several inches. Also- i bet you are doing much better with mileage and time. I have several friends that run marathons and I all of them say that weightloss when training for a run is practically impossible. But the body tends to change quite a bit.
BSB- hope you are feeling better!
miz- hope your paper turns up!
ners- Great job!

Thanks! I started a new job 6 weeks ago and thought it would finally allow me a routine where I could better plan meals and workouts, rather than my previous consulting gig that frequently had me in hotels and airports, eating out every meal. Instead, I've gained like 8 lbs. Wth? I have PCOS, which causes insulin resistance, so I really need to watch the effects of foods on my blood sugar levels.
I would really like to tone up, as well. At 29, I should not be embarrassed to wear shorts or tank tops. However, the last few years, I've been running around in jeans and T-shirts during the lovely Houston summers.

I've been great about drinking water all day at the new job, although I really, really suck at it on the weekends. I quit drinking soda cold turkey on 8/12/13. I was having at least 6 a day, but usually more than that. I started having a cup of coffee in the mornings to get some caffeine and none the rest of the day, but based on how I like my coffee (lots of whole milk and some honey), I may need to cut that out, too. Luckily, I love green tea with spearmint (Allegro teas makes a good one available at WF) so I may just have a couple of those in the mornings in addition to the cups I've been having throughout the day.
