Hey guys, just popping in. Sorry I haven't been around much, it's been just a fycking terrible week at work and I am just run down. No energy. I'm here to announce the core challenge though:
Core challenge on the 18s! 18s bridge up 18s vsit 18 supermans 18 windmills 18 steam engines
GO GO GO!
(That was the last of my energy for the day. I will now commence laying on the couch staring into space and drinking wine if DH gets me some.)

Oh yeah, and that UTI must be contagious chiver because I have one too. And I have zero time to go to the doctor. This is awesome. (That is me passing out now.)

ugh, bsb! get there soon, I've had enough of them to not wish one on my worst enemy. don't wait.
I picked a dr that was 5 minutes from work b/c I was lazy. that decision has been gold so far in 2014, because I can schedule an appointment pretty much any time they have an opening.
remind me to tell y'all about my red bandannas, if I haven't already. I'm heading to bed soon, I'm pretty wiped out.

Sorry about the UTIs ladies.
I am feeling pretty awful myself. Left work at noon... Horrible headache, lethargic, fatigues, nauseated, sore muscles all around. Came home, vomited, slept, took a hot bath, slept a few more hours. DH brought me some white rice, which I kept down. Probably going to bed again soon. UGH

found an inexpensive pedometer at the dollar tree. Not worried about it being absolutely accurate, just want to get a ballpark. TBear has agrees to be my partner in healthy eating. OH! I also found real sports bras and some new workout clothes.

I'm so sorry to hear about all of the illness and job stress! I hope everyone is feeling better soon.
Good news is I lost .8 pound this week. That's 3 weeks of (tiny) losses in a row. I'm glad. We should have lots of free time to tale walks and exercise this weekend. The weather is sunny and warm enough! I want to lose again next week! Sticking too

Goals from last week
12500 steps per day or average 12600 for the week. Average 27 ounces of water a day Cut down on sugar and salt intake.
Not a great week. Met first goal. Failed on last 2. Weight back in correct direction.
My favorite hot dog/ice cream shop open and annual church Pierogi dinner did not help.
Goals will stay the same for this week with a concentration on the water intake.

Got in 20 mins on the elliptical today, which is good because I was really at the gym to try a new class but the instructor didn't show up They have the same class at several locations so I may try another one next weekend. Still sticking to the "no pastry with the second cup of coffee in the morning" rule, and made it to the gym every other day this week.

Quick update - stood on the scale this morning and I'm down to 130. So I'm losing like a snail (7.5 lbs since September 3, good grief) but I am losing.

starting to feel somewhat human again... but I can't really do anything that has me breathing heavily because that leads to a coughing fit. Am going to work on getting steps in today and maybe some yoga. I've been eating a lot of salty soups and such so I feel puffy. My 34th birthday is in 2 months and 2 days. I really have to get rocking if I want to be at the birthday goal that I have set for myself.

the scale's been all over the map the last couple days, from a low of 197.something to a high of 202.4 this am. I'll blame the late-night beer and eats after last night's hockey game for the extra this am. hopefully the water weight from the salty quesadilla flushes out quickly. but hey - we won! and I felt way better after the game than I thought I would. between not having skated since before my vacation and having weird BP spikes over the course of yesterday, I was fully prepared to pull myself from the game if the first couple shifts didn't go well. that said, this weekend is spring cleaning around my house. literally and figuratively. I sandblasted my 2nd floor yesterday, will be doing the 1st floor today. I cleaned out the fridge yesterday and have been working through the freezer contents as well. I won't get in an additional workout today (I am actually a little sore from last night's game anyway) but I will be well within my calories today as I'm only now just getting to breakfast after running a couple errands. I did up a small tater tot casserole, so I'll have breakfast ready to go for tomorrow too (leftovers) and I will be having dinner early when I go pick up another roti chicken later today. I will deconstruct for stock/freezer portions and either put some over a salad or make a veggie to go with. easy peasy sarcasticgirl - yay for feeling even a little bit better! kilroy - baby steps are still steps. yay for continued progress! ners - how are you going to go about improving your water intake? I keep a 1L on my desk at work, that I will just keep refilling. I get through that sucker at least once a day, or I feel hungover the next day. missk - great job on the continued progress!

Despite the snow on the ground this morning (GGGRRRRRRRRR) spring is in the air! I started most of my seedings for my urban garden today. I have to order seeds for a couple of things, which I am doing today.
Herbs will be Basil, Thyme, Cilantro and Mint Veg will be Cherry Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Spinach, Jalapenos, Potatoes and something called Cucamelons.
I may add zucchini if I find I have enough space. We have two balconies, but I have to share with DHs flowers, and our grill, and our chairs for sitting outside. I need to do some spring cleaning- clean out the closet, pack away the bulky winter sweaters, clean baseboards and declutter. But that will likely wait until next weekend.
chiver- nice job on the hockey! i hear you on the water weight. The scale was up today, but i presume that is what salty soups will get ya.
kilroy- 7.5 pounds down is still weight that is gone! slow and steady helps keep it off!
ners- i'm curious, what else are you drinking during the day? you say your goal is 27 oz of water, which is just over 3 cups. I assume you are drinking other things during the day (or else i'd imagine you're parched all the time! lol)
I'm going to try and get back to the core challenge today. hopefully, tomorrow I can do the 30DS again.

Oh- and another thing I wanted to bring up. I've been struggling with eating really well lately. I have decided to seek out new recipes and try some new dishes. When I'm sick, I watch the food network or cooking channel ALL DAY LONG, so I had a lot of inspiration.
When we went on vacation we had all this wonderful food and it was so hard to come back to this boring same old same old healthy stuff. So I am putting forth more effort to liven up our food. I mean, if you have to eat less calories, those calories should be super YUMMY! right?!?
Tonight is my first night back into cooking since like... wednesday. Smoky Minestrone Soup w/ Tortellini I've made this once before and DH raved about it. I did the nutritional info on it and even with tortellini, it isn't too shabby at all.
Tomorrow I am throwing a rick bayless recipe into the crockpot for a guajillo pork and potato recipe. Going to have some green veg on the side. *crossing fingers it works out well*
and the beauty of both of these dishes- fairly inexpensive and leftovers for lunch! YUM!
SO- what are some of the dishes you guys make and love? any recipes to share?

I'm really struggling over here. Work is still insane (note: I'm working at 5pm on a Sunday and I worked yesterday.) I just housed a bag of gummy bears and half a bag of doritos. I haven't weighed myself in a week, but it's beena disastrous weekend food-wise. I haven't worked out since last weekend. And I'm pretty sure that UTI has become a bladder infection, and I don't have time to go to the doctor for at least another couple days. Add to that I am just... fried.

BSB- ugh! HUGS! maybe just step away for a few minutes and do a quick circuit. get your blood flowing and it might boost your energy a bit. That sucks, I understand... i've been there before and will be there again, i'm sure. Pick up some cranberry pills. those suckers are infinitely better than juice.
chiver- holy recipes! i'm looking through them now and pinning to pinterest! thanks!!!

Chiver --I have a glass at my desk and set a reminder on my outlook to remind me to drink. This worked for about a week. The plan was for two of them a day. Has not been working well.
sarcastic girl. I start the day with about 8 ounces of water and then a cup of coffee. Sometimes a get a second cup of coffee. I have never drank anywhere near the recommended amount of water.
This is my stress week at work.
I did not get my 12500 steps yesterday for the first time all month. Still have about 4000 steps to go today.

So, I'm creating motivation for myself... when I get back to my wedding weight/size then I am buying a new tablet for myself. It isn't that far away... only 1 size and about 10ish pounds. but I really need the motivation to keep going and get there.
It is a big big prize... I was going to buy it and then decided to use it as a motivational tool. If I use my wants as prizes... it may help out. so long as I don't give in and buy it anyway. lol

hey Pants - you hanging in? There was a sale last week and I picked up 3 pairs of "super skinny" cut pants in a 14. My pants for work were falling off and swallowing me. So, I picked these up to wear with some knee boots and sweaters. I have gotten numerous comments about how skinny I look (yeah- NO lol) and Wow- you've lost a lot of weight. I haven't lost any pounds in over a month. but I am losing inches and shrinking. YAY! I still have a long way to go, but I feel positive. especially because these pants are smaller, fitted and very COMFY! oh, and my ass looks positively rocking in them. can't wait to ditch these for a smaller size. officially 2 months until I turn 34... I want some major progress by then!

Great job sarcastic!!
I did finally eat dessert last weekend. We had a dinner party (lasagna and salad) and I had some delicious chocolate pie! But trying not to indulge again for awhile. I didn't think I ate that terribly over the weekend, but the scale was up 2 pounds. And I had exercised! So we'll see. I'm going to walk/jog after work today and get some core exercises in. I've been dping pretty well on my snacking at work, so I'm a little disappointed not to see more progress.
Keep on keeping on I guess....I am wondering what other changes I can make to my diet. Thinking about decreasing carbs maybe? I guess I should check and see how many I typically eat in a day and move on from there...

No work out yesterday. My DH worked late... I forgot that I had the jumperoo downstairs so I could have put Joey in that while I walked on the treadmill - duh! Now I am kind of mad at myself. But I did Skype with my sister who has been down lately (fertility problems). So that was nice. So I've been eating oatmeal for breakfast for awhile because it was better than cereal and toast. But now I'm wondering, what's even better? Eggs? Yogurt? What is the healthiest type of yogurt to eat? I'd love y'all's opinions - please be specific with type and brand if you can. Thanks! Also thinking of giving up my beloved iced coffee. I feel like I don't drink it that much, but maybe it is still too much. I'll finish the carton I have, then no more. I'll definitely work out after work today because DH is coming home on time. I probably need to start working out in the morning....

Hey guys, I'm here. The worst is past at work and I finally made it to the doctor yesterday. Re-engaging with this thread probably tomorrow, when I don't have a hangover working against me...

I've been eating poorly lately and drinking like a fish while out, and it showed this am on the scale. had some leftover pub pizza for breakfast (from last night's trivia) and plan to spend the rest of the week having salads w/grilled proteins for dinner. between that and tons of water, hopefully I'll flush out all the toxins and some lbs while I'm at it. no hockey this weekend, but I'm heading to the regionals for the Frozen Four and we're staying next to the arena - with a pool. I think I'll pack a suit and get some laps in. need to get my ass back on track!
