I've seen my sister Peggy now three weekends in a row. I'm satisfied that she has all the hospice, physio, home care & pharmacy that she needs. A couple weeks ago doctors told her that she could go at any time now. Peggy has two different cancers, stage 4 kidney cancer that's in her lungs and brain as well as her kidney and she has very aggressive bone cancer. The bone cancer started in her left tibia. It's now in her lower spine area and we feel it's actually up her spine further.

I went up to see my sister again today.
Yes it's up in her left shoulder blade, but doctors have given her 5 radiation treatments in the last two weeks. They are more concerned about the secondary site of her stage 4 kidney cancer, her brain.
She's a real fighter and she will not go down easy to cancer. It's going to be a full out battle between the two.

CT scan today and Dr visit next week. Planning on another clear report.

My sister is dying, the light is out of her eyes and her mobile skills are about 20%.

My sister has a lot of help, homecare is there twice a day, a regular nurse, a NP and a pharmacist all show up too. Basically so many health personal are coming and going from there every day.
I'm hoping to get up there again before next weekend.

I glad someone is there almost all of the time. Everyone has a different conversation mode and she can hear things that keep her mind stimulated.

My sister is nearly gone, her husband and a nurse practitioner will decide tomorrow morning if she will be transferred to either a hospital or a hospice. Her motor skills are completely gone. She's aware sometimes, but other times she seems completely lost. Her doctors took her off chemo yesterday. She's refusing all food and drink and she told her husband that she's ready to die.

The news is sad. She will be moved to a hospital bed as soon as one becomes available. Confusion & dementia has kicked in. She has a IV access in her arm now so that NP can deliver a morphine shot to her. NP gives her just hours to live.

Ouch. Hopefully she won't have to endure the confusion and dementia too long. Hang in there Sugi.

Well it's an hour by hour situation, she's stopped talking. She'll blink her eyes for yes. And that's yes to she needs pain meds most of the time.
