so the needs of the one or the few ( the raped 15 yr old, the one suffering from incestuous relations) outweigh the dangers of the many?
none of you think that a 15 yr old out there will use this the WRONG way?
do we know what the effects will be with overuse?
those are my arguments.....
i like the law....but hate the age
to me that last year or two makes a huge difference in maturity of the teen
but i guess when we hear the first tragic story, the first response will be "more education" for the uninformed

Yes, they might use it too often, but if it is painful as some say, I think that's going to be a rare person indeed unless it is an incest situation where the parents are in denial and she can't get BC and the abuser doesn't like condoms.
Most teens with healthy relationships with their parents won't be using this unless BC fails or they get raped. Just because they won't need parental consent, doesn't mean that many of these teens won't have confided in at least one parent.
I think the risk more than outweighs doing nothing which is some teens affecting their life before they are ready and likely starting a track of welfare usage and low-paying jobs. And should there be a rash of over-usage the law can be amended that pharmacies keep records and if someone gets two, or three per year that parents and/or a doctor be notified before it is dispensed. Are you willing to fund with your tax dollars BC pills for those in incest situations instead of the more expensive welfare and child tax credits?

sure...and i want the person involved (brother/uncle/father) arrested and charged at the same time
i dont want to leave her in the same damn situation she is in.....she needs help, not just a freaking script
if you are asking would i be willing to just give BC pills to a 15yr old without her acknowledging the incest though, the answer is no
anyone under 16 should be required to get a parents permission before getting the prescription (unless as noted above)
at 16, i think most kids (again most) are old enough to understand the issues, and i wouldnt need a parents permission at that point
