I need to paint my bedroom, and I happen to need a new Duvet cover - so let's make this one big bedroom update extravaganza.
What color is your bedroom? What feeling does it convey when you walk in? Why do you like it / not like it? Would you suggest the color to someone like me?

My bedroom walls are white - which actually looked good when I had a blue white and yellow decorating scheme. Now that I've changed to neutral brown/golds the walls just look like they need color.

Our current bedding is green, too. I found out after we had painted the kitchen that green isn't a good color to have in the kitchen (according to HGTV.) And then my husband lost 50 pounds. Do you think there is a connection?

Why do you like it / not like it? Would you suggest the color to someone like me? Blue on the walls, with shades of brown, beige, red, rust in the furniture/accessories. Bed is Mission-style. It's supposed to convey the feeling of walking into a Southwestern sunset. I think it conveys more of a feeling of insanity, but hey, the design scheme was DH's, not mine. It's getting old and tired and out-of-date. Oh, heck, no. If it were up to me, I'd go with my entire bedroom in shades of red, rose and dark pinks, with some white accents. But I don't picture that for you at all.

One wall is a dark midnight blue, the rest are white. Our bed is white sheets with dark blue duvet cover and headboard. ![](http://www.allpaintings.org/d/17518-1/Edward+Robert+Hughes+-+Night+with+her+Train+of+Stars.jpg) We've had a print of that in our bedroom for ten years and have slowly decorated around it.

We call it Palo Verde green in the Southwest. ![](http://images.proboards.com/new/wink.png) The AZ house has a sage green accent wall opposite the doorway and where the bed touches the wall. We also have a sage green accent wall in the cabin. We liked the color so much we painted the exterior of the house the same color but you wouldn't know it was the same color. It looks very different on the exterior in the forest. And of all the bad marketing names to use Ace called it "Pollywog" ![](http://images.proboards.com/new/shocked.gif) Why not slime green? Sheesh!

Walls are a terracotta orange color like this: ![](http://us.123rf.com/400wm/400/400/qvist/qvist1110/qvist111000083/11037918-orange-colored-terracotta-pot-between-water-plants-in-a-water-ditch-with-fishes.jpg) Dark wood furniture looks good with this color and mahogany wood blinds/shades (no curtains). Dark green carpeting.

Brown walls with bright blue paintings, silver blue bedspread, with walnut furniture. I'm going to paint it this summer. Or wallpaper. I have't decided yet.

In my bedroom, I have ivory walls with a khaki, faded red and olive green duvet and pillows.
Here, I think I am going to go with khaki walls and look at contrasting colors of a light and dark teal. We also have a gorgeous Turkish carpet that has those colors in it, so should play off well. It should go nicely with the new tile we just put in the master bathroom too.

We have dark brown woodwork in the bed room and the wall behind the bed is robins egg blue, the rest are white. I love the color combo. Lots of natural light in the room so even with dark woodwork it isn't to dark, just restful.

Our bedroom walls are dark blue (there's a pic in the Furniture thread on YM), furniture/trim is white. Duvet cover is sage green, we alternate between cream and mauve sheets. The attached bathroom is peach.
When we painted, DH made a huge stink about the "bright" colors (he'd paint the whole house brown/beige if given the option) but likes it well enough now. The only downside to the dark paint is that it does make the room look quite a bit smaller.

Dark blue, sage green and mauve? I can't picture those together.

Wedgwood blue reminds me of the 1980s and 1990s. That said, I have saved the comforter set that was in my daughter's room as a teenager. It was fairly expensive, and I really liked the colors she chose. With two or three (she's pregnant) daughters of her own, she may want to use it again.
My walls are probably similar to the sage green described. I stupidly bought the comforter set first (this green color and pewter in geometric circles . . . supposed to be more masculine than my usual taste) and then had to go to my ex-MIL with paint samples for her to help me find a color that would coordinate with it without being the same color. Next time I will pick the paint first.
It's ok, but I am actually planning on painting the walls an antique white this summer. It just looks cleaner to me although the green is very soothing.

here is our color. Actually it is wedgewood gray, not wedgewood blue. ![](http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7234/6926228320_d030823b89_c.jpg)

But paint comes in every color there is.
Comforters are limited.

Dark blue, sage green and mauve? I can't picture those together. It's not as bad as it sounds, I promise! What color is your furniture? Ours started as mostly dark brown but looked terrible with the dark walls, so we bought a pine bed and painted the dresser white (would've painted the rest white by now, but I'm lazy). It would be best to get something that matches what you already have... you don't want to get into a situation in which a $100 duvet cover spurs you to go out and buy $2K of furniture. Not that I'd know anything about that... ![](http://syonidv.hodginsmedia.com/vsmileys/tongue2.png)

Also known as "orange." ![](http://images.proboards.com/new/tongue.png) Actually no. It is yellow. The red undertones may or may not be visible depending upon the time of day and lighting. You think you see it but when you focus on it, you don't see it. Light pays tricks.

IMO with dark wood, light colors are best... What colors do you like? What's the rest of your house look like? Any kind of common color scheme? Do any colors inspire particular anger/rage in you? ![](http://images.proboards.com/new/tongue.png)
