Dancin -- I haven't had the opportunity to stack both a $/$$ and a CRT because I'm really not buying a ton of stuff. I have 3 CVS stores that I use, one on the way home from work (used most frequently), one near my grocery store, and one near my grandmothers (least frequent). I can also drive home an alternate route and hit 2 additional CVS stores on the way home but I don't frequently do that. The store that I use the most, on the way home from work, is VERY coupon friendly and I can't imagine that they wouldn't allow me to use both a CRT and a $/$$. I would be shocked if they even blinked an eye. The next time you do it (OR ANYONE ELSE FOR THAT MATTER), would you please post? Personally, I'm interested in how the game is changing at CVS and whether what I am reading on couponing sites is really true. If it is, these are some pretty big changes. If I'm understanding what I've read correctly, CVS is/has re-programmed the registers so that the only way that the stacking of a $/$$ with a $/$ any dental products (or similar type of CRT) is allowed is if it is pushed through by the cashier (as it would be with a store that accepted expireds). And if you combine say a $4/$20 and a $2/$10 off of any dental purchase, you would be required to spend $22 before coupons to use them together, but again, I'm just going by what I'm reading and some sites are more legalistic about "correct coupon usage" than others. As far as I know, you can still stack a $/$$ with a get $1/Crest CRT with no problem. Anyway, I know that personally I won't be "testing" any of this out myself, especially at a store that is pretty non-coupon friendly these days.

I was able to stack MC with CVS coupon (homemailer though, not a CRT) for overage last week. I'm not sure if the cashier realized there was overage involved, but she knew there were 2 coupons for the same product and the manager specifically told her she could take 1 cvs coupon and 1 manufacturer coupon. This is also the same store that fully realized I was getting $6 for the tresemme BOGO coupon even though they were $3.50 and allowed the autodeduct anyway. YMMV as always. There are a lot of stores that are still allowing the auto-deduct, but I'm reading from more and more people that their store managers have put a stop to it.

I was able to stack a CRT with a 5/30 on Friday. I was also able to combine CVS Q with MQ in the same transaction.
I now have 4 ECBs only and I am checking to see if I can get something fun for me.
I cleaned my stockpile and ended up with almost half a car load full of stuff for donation. I am now missing a few things only - Lysol toilet cleaner, envelopes , a couple bottles of bleach and 2.5 oz Aveeno creams. I have 15 Ups and I will probably stock up on these items.

What kind of CRT was it? I'm looking for a transaction where you use a $5/$30 and a $3/$10 (oral care for example) type of CRT.

There are now CVS internet IPs for various products that say that they cannot be combined with any other coupon. There was a $2/1 Scott Bath Tissue IP a while back and now there is a $3/1 Tresseme (sp??) IP that says the same thing. The Qs show that they are a CVS pharmacy coupon, but stacking with an MC is prohibited by the wording on the coupon. As far as CRTs from the red machine, as far as I know, you can still stack those with MCs.

The Poise CVS IPQ along with the Poise MQ were the ones that I combined without any issues and got 2$ overage.
When I have something like the CRTs that you have mentioned, I always have the total amount of products about the same amount as the combined Qs, since our registers will not allow combining a 4/20 with a 3/10 dental items on a 20$ transaction. They beep and will not allow the second one. The cashiers always say that I need 10 more - this has been happening to me for at least 3 years now. HTH

Dancinmama: No problem stacking coupons here, either. The poise CVS and Poise MC went together beep free. I used a $4/$20 and a $3/$10 makeup this past weekend and no problem on a $30 purchase. I am sorry that others are having problems, but that is what I like about SD, there is usually always a report about how a coupon is behaving.

Well, I went over my grocery budget of $65 by $25 dollars. It is okay tho. I got things I'd have to buy next month, and now I won't have to buy them. Plus, I found a great sale on meat, and I can really stretch it. The single largest purchase was 6 loaves of the wheat-free, rye-free, gluten free bread. 6 tiny loaves cost $41.70. It works out to 46 cents a slice. I'd still rather pay it, and take my lunch to work than eat food that is bad for me, and costs a lot more. Also, I got 14 lbs of fresh fruit, and 11 lbs of lean meat. Not too shabby for 28 dollars. Not too shabby? NOT TOO SHABBY!! Geez, that's is MOST EXCELLENT!! hehehe

Dancin I really know what you mean about the cost of feeding a family. I don't know how I would be able to do it these days. I might have had girls but both were athletes. I am a HEARTY eater-could eat DH under the table 8 days/week.
One of the independent grocers near my dad's place has chk leg quarters for $0.69/lb this week in jumbo packs. If the jumbos are 5 ish lb I will definatly buy but if 10 lb not sure. I have not bought any animal protein at all this month and could really use chk. I have several recioes I use cooked chk that I want to make (fajitas, stir fry, stroganoff).

I think I'm going to put one of my old cards in my purse and scan it the next time I go out, just to see what it produces vs my registered card that I used a lot last year. I'm not even close to ready to wanting to buy anything there yet; I'm just REALLY curious as to what it would produce. Did you get the $10/$30 lotion scanner CRT this week? I had to when I saw that one on the list at iheartcvs. I was almost sure that last year I used a $10/$50 with a $/$ cosmetics CRT and only purchased $50 in the transaction, but I must be wrong.

You'd have to buy a starter kit (one that has the pump that sucks the air out) and a few bags. I don't know how much it would run, but it's definitely much cheaper than buying a vaccum sealer. And of course, like a good hound, I reuse the bags. Here's what I do. I put enough meat, chicken or fish for DH and I in a sandwich ziploc and seal it removing as much of the air as possible. Then I put that into a qt. sized Ziploc vacuum seal bag and use the hand pump to suck out all the air. Then, to protect the vacuum seal bag from getting ripped or punctured, I put it in a regular qt. sized freezer bag. When I take it out of the freezer, I will take the vacuum bag out of the freezer bag and the sandwich bag out of the vacuum bag and save both of the two bags that did not touch the meat/poultry/fish. The next time you use the vacuum bag it will work just as well. I took ground beef out for a meatloaf the other day that was dated Sep/2011 and when it thawed, it was beautiful.

Dancin, Thank you for this. I know I'm going to use your method and save much moula. I've stayed away from the vacuum sealers - too much committment for my tastes. so, thanks.

We used to have a "real" vacuum sealer and it broke. Shortly after that the Ziploc vacuum bags came out and there was a high valued coupon that came out in the inserts for their introduction to the market. I wondered if we'd ever see one that high again, so I decided to "invest" hoping that the bags would do a decent job. Even DH is impressed at how well they work!!

Every once in awhile when I'm at CVS there'll be someone in front of me who doesn't have a CVS card so I let the cashier use mine. They usually give me any ECBs that generate at the bottom of the receipt. And, it kicks up my OOP total for the quarter. I also try to share coupons if I see that the person has something that I have a Q for. Hate to see people paying full retail at CVS....it hurts.

Hey misspt...sorry to hear about your situation, but I think you will be able to find a recruiter that can get you what you want. DH and I got moved (in-state) for free. Just don't do what he did and post your resume on Careerbuilder! He did not believe me when I predicted the chaos that ensued. I think he got over 100 calls in the first DAY! He still gets calls and emails. It's nice to be wanted, I guess! OMG!! herekittykitty!! It's sooooo good to see you post!! This must be "reunion week" with all of you oldies checking in. All right, DM...did you just call me old? It's ok, I feel about 70...I tried to play basketball with my nephews Monday! I've lurked for a while, but just finally remembered how to log in again!

OMG...this is the 3rd and final time I am going to try to post this! No combining $10 off $50 with $3 off $10 lotion purchase CVS CRT's at my CVS, anyway. Less "capering" due to fewer good deals and new job with longer commute (and rapidly filling storage space)!

If she still has the card, I imagine she uses it very rarely and almost never with coupons. I got a $4/20 in my email last week for that card. I don't think I've gotten a generic $/$$ on my regular card from the scanner since Black Friday 2008. I did get a survey last week with a $2 EB reward, so I guess I'll take that I was an idiot with CVS yesterday. I want to do this week's coke deal, so I went to 4 different stores looking for the coke products I wanted. I finally found a store with cherry coke and fanta, so I hauled them up to go pay and realized I left my EBs at home So I have to go back today, but at least I know where to find them this time...

In the last quarter of 2012, I used over (30) $10/$50s!! Maybe that explains why CVS cut me off!!

That's what I remember being allowed, but apparently it isn't any longer. I'm pretty sure I didn't do it a lot, but I did stack those types of coupons together occasionally. CVS used to be sooo predictable. I almost never had beeps the first couple of years that I shopped there. I had more beeps in 2012 than any other year and I have no clue why, but they were usually CVS coupons either from the scanner machine or printed off a coupon network like coupons. com and I ALWAYS bought the correct product(s) to use the Qs. Oh well, things are definitely changing. I knew it would happen eventually so I'm not at all .

Well, that's one way to get those quarterly rewards!! One of the cashiers at my CVS got fired a couple of years ago for scanning his card when a customer would check out without an extra care card. It really bummed me out. Apparently my store has a generic CVS card at the register that they are supposed to use as a courtesy, but that's not the one he'd use. He wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer, but a REALLY, REALLY, REALLY nice guy. I was really sad to see him go. Another fav cashier got fired for selling smokes to someone under 18 (the customer was a plant). That one bummed me out too. I hope she learned her lesson that being cool to "kids" can be costly.

There hasn't been a date set, as far as I know, but, it is being discontinued later this year.

Awe, you remembered!! Did you try it or did you already know they wouldn't allow it? I still have storage space, but I've filled A LOT of it. TP and PT are bulky!! Hope you're likin' your new job although longer commutes are never any fun. OMG...who could ever forget "pulling a caper"? I STILL tell my DH sometimes that I need him to pull a caper for me! And, I found out the hard way (as I usually do).
