I so want a butter turkey! But 1. There are only 4 of us. 2. I'm not serving anything we would put butter on. Shoot.

They are fun, at least in the Bethiverse they are. ;D It is possible I am a smart ass who wrapped up a pound of butter one Christmas with a tag that said it was from Santa and gave it to my dad before dinner. I like the turkey idea better.

Oh, and for those with dairy issues, there's a product called Tru-whip which is better than Cool-whip or Redi-whip. Found in the freezer section. It's a non-dairy whip topping.

I had never seen a butter lamb or a butter turkey before I opened this thread. Learn something new every day.

Some grocery stores sell the butter lambs/turkeys in the deli section and some keep them in the dairy section.

I thought butter was like bacon - it goes with everything.
I use it to baste a fresh kosher turkey. Melt a stick or two, throw in the chopped herbs and enjoy.
Yeah, I know...butter and a kosher bird. Not really a combo the average rabbi would eat. But it works.

I told him I got it honest and he had no response. I know the one grocery store had them with the regular butter last year. I remember that turkey box. Will have to get one tonight. I'd be proud but might make for interesting times before she develops a filter.

I had one, I think it was from recipes.com... not wedded to it, though (some of the reviews said it was a little salty). Thanks for the link! I've made a few of Emeril's recipes and they always turn out delicious.

It's also part of why I'm thinking of starting a new thread of WIR for parents of preschool and school kids. As much as I love the baby stuff, I think I moved beyond it the last few months. We're not having any more, I'm giving away the baby crap and I've managed to block a bunch of the godawfulness of the first year.

I forgot about the Wisconsin part lol.
I like the idea of the thread for older kids Beth. Of course I have no kids so my opinion means squat!

DD's telling me that one of her classmates "is mean" and I have no clue how to deal with that. And apparently the girl did take something from another kid and try to stuff it in DD's backpack. I'm thinking an email to the teacher to see what's going on might be good.

My 5 year old tells me about the mean kids in PreK. So far I've told her that mean people exist and to steer clear of them. Mom of the year right here.
