April 1,2013 - U.S. Stocks Fall as American Manufacturing Index Slips (same source)

Anyone have one of those Cracker Jack decoder ring thingies? I seem to have stumbled across the mother of all market news but I have no freaking idea what it means.....
"Another cash cow that works on the same principal... ...as long as you have monkeys installed that will work for climbing the bars and eating banannas as pay, things of the following don't make it out and the blinders stay on a lot of folks. Part of the monkeys job you know.
While String puppets and monkeys jump and dazzle, the majority are simply enjoying their great antics and humour. As far as the string puppets and monkeys and REALITY goes..."

USA WON > Yes we have rain here and at the ranch (Kermit)...Esp at the ranch the sand drinks up the rain and fill the under ground lakes with fresh water. You have to keep the duck pond full for the deer and antelope. It looks like the Eagle Ford will be working the Frac Trucks hard this year.. I got six deals to read and study for Oil and Gas in the area. We can tell Iran what they can do with their Oil!!! Revenge is a tasty soup best served Cold Just a thought , Bruce

Good enough to post here too.......... "Within the next five years, the United States is expected to experience a manufacturing renaissance as the wage gap with China shrinks and certain U.S. states become some of the cheapest locations for manufacturing in the developed world," predicted global business strategy firm The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in May 2011.
"All over China, wages are climbing at 15 to 20 percent each year because of the supply-and-demand imbalance for skilled labor," says Harold L. Sirkin, a BCG senior partner. "Net labor costs for manufacturing in China and the United States should converge by 2015. As a result of the changing economics, more products will be made in the United States in the next five years."
www.inboundlogistics.com/cms/article/is-us-manufacturing-coming-back/
The number of firms known to have “reshored” manufacturing to America is well under 100. Doubtless many more are doing so quietly. Examples range from the tiny, such as ET Water Systems, to the enormous, such as General Electric, which last year moved manufacturing of washing machines, fridges and heaters back from China to a factory in Kentucky which not long ago had been expected to close. Google has attracted a great deal of attention for deciding to make its Nexus Q, a new media streamer, in San Jose.
www.economist.com/news/special-report/21569570-growing-number-american-companies-are-moving-their-manufacturing-back-united
By offering subsidies, cheap labor, and lax regulations and rigging its currency, China was able to seduce American companies to relocate their manufacturing operations there. Millions of American jobs moved to China, and manufacturing became the underpinning of China’s growth and prosperity. But rising labor costs, concerns over government-sponsored I.P. theft, and production time lags are already causing companies such as Dow Chemicals, Caterpillar, GE, and Ford to start moving some manufacturing back to the U.S. from China. Google recently announced that its Nexus Q streaming media player would be made in the U.S., and this put pressure on Apple to start following suit.

Good stuff, Frankq.
Certainly, eveything's NOT fixed and coming up roses (probably never will be) ... but the direction this slow recovery continues to be heading in, is encouraging. Still lots of potholes and hiccups along the way, though. Keep the faith, brothers and sisters.

Still lots of potholes and hiccups along the way, though. Keep the faith, brothers and sisters. SSG, Yes but what i fear are the Black Swans in the EU Banking!!! Recall the Rothschild bank (Creditanstaltin) Vienna in 1932.. Started the increasing amplification disaster of the world banking system. It almost started in 2008 with Baxia Bank. The Federal Reserve had to infuse more money then any American Bank to keep the system from self destruction.. And almost no one in America had heard of Dexia Bank.. I know I had not. . Bank for buying sovereign assets.....Just a thought, Bruce Reuters) - JPMorgan Chase & Co (JPM.N) has won the dismissal of nearly all of a lawsuit accusing it of misleading the Belgian-French bank Dexia SA (DEXI.BR) into buying more than $1.6 billion of troubled mortgage debt. The decision made public on Wednesday by U.S. District Judge Jed Rakoff in Manhattan is a victory for the largest U.S. bank and its chief executive, Jamie Dimon, eliminating an estimated 99 percent of the potential damages. Dexia's case that gained notoriety after emails and other materials were disclosed that suggested the bank and its affiliates knew the residential mortgage-backed securities they were selling were toxic, but sold them anyway. Rakoff said he would explain the reasons for his decision "in due course." In a statement, JPMorgan's law firm Cravath, Swaine & Moore said the dismissal of Dexia's claims on all but five of the 65 RMBS certificates at issue reduced potential damages to about $5.7 million from $774 million. Dexia was not immediately available for comment. A spokesman for its U.S. law firm declined to comment immediately. JPMorgan spokeswoman Jennifer Zuccarelli declined to comment. finance.yahoo.com/news/jpmorgan-wins-dismissal-most-dexia-171453807.html

We all have positive as-well-as negative concerns. We can reason past events as being "no-way-out repeatable" or "we-know-enough preventable" ... or somewhere in between. We all learn a great deal "after the facts" and we all play "what if" scenarios for the future. No decision made today guarantees tomorrows outcome. Sometimes we have to rely on the unknown. It's just the way it is. Your comment about Baxia Bank and the Federal Reserves action tells me that we should maybe be glad that someone somewhere had the smarts to do something, no matter how drastic, to avoid the system from destruction. Like I said ... everything's not fixed ... a far cry from it yet ... but we seem to be pointed in the right direction IMHO. I expect more problems ... but I'm also optimistic that there will be more solutions as well.
