What, you can't be attractive and a radical feminist? <Waits patiently for Welts.>

As far as I know there are no rules against it, but to look at most feminists you would think there was.

Montreal is a city of stunning, exquisitely-dressed women, kind of like Paris. They're all feminists, so ...... pffft!

"Lol! I'm a girly-girl in that respect as well. Heels, blonde hair and crimson lipstick. That doesn't stop me from baiting my own hook, fixing the roof, being handy with tools AND enjoying sex with men. I'm also a radical feminist. Go figure." Hmmm, I have a hard time imagining you as attractive or girly Weltz. Now being a radical feminist I can believe, since you are a radical leftist. And I don't know what your age is, but I imagined you to be older. I guess I'll take your word for it, but I'll admit I'm skeptical. ROTFLMAO!! Why? Because I have a bear as an avatar, and not something a little more prurient? Hey, if you're you're skeptical, it's no skin off my dainty, mineral-powdered nose. :::bats eyes::: Glad I could make you laugh . Maybe it's the bear avatar. Your batting eyes won't work on me though, you're probably a bit too old for me.

Pretty much. It's kind of like the people who tell me they go to nudist beaches or resorts. They are seldom the most attractive people. Not that I've ever been.

And keep in mind we're talking about "radical" feminists. When I think of radical feminists, I think of the militant "men are the scourge of the earth and need to be killed or locked up" feminists. And the "women wearing bras is degrading" feminists.
So I probably have a bit more extreme idea of what "radical feminism" is than those here.

I've put on my Halloween costume. I almost wish I could get Virgil to craft me some purple wings in a show of solidarity ... but I'm not sure purple wings would look good on the pumpkin.

Black leather and rivets... interesting. Do you like to be tied up, or are you the one that's handy with knots?

What, you can't be attractive and a radical feminist? <Waits patiently for Welts.> All depends on what you define as "radical." My definition of radical will be different than yours.

I don't think that way about radical feminists. I think of my self more as just a garden variety women are capable people too feminist. Isn't the bra thing and the man-hating thing like decades old by now?

I feel like I don't belong in this thread anymore. I prefer to go out to eat with a man as a companion. Wine and dine. Tasting after the meal is optional.

By radical feminist, I mean that just because women have what we want in MY country, ie equal pay and opportunity, access to birth control and reproductive services, doesn't mean the fight is over. I will not become complacent, and I will fight for my sisters everywhere.

Why does a boy wearing purple wings have to mean anything about feminism? They are wings. Its not like he is wearing two coconuts or a pink ballgown.

10 pages about a 3 year old boy wearing wings? Really?! He's 3 and they're wings.

I don't believe in archetypal gender paradigms. If a boy wants to wear wings or play with an EZ-bake Oven, I have no problem with that. If a little girl wants to dress as Batman or play with tool belts, I'll support that as well. Now, being a political junkie, I have to go watch the debate, so if you'll excuse me.....

It removes some of the ideas that feminine things are weak or unworthy of male participation.

Also, when I wear pants, I'm not dressing like a boy. If my husband wore a dress, he MIGHT be dressing like a girl. Or he might just be wearing a dress. A four year old boy wearing a dress might be dressing like a girl...of course, if he has an older sister and wears her hand-me-down gender neutral clothes, he would also be dressing like a girl. And wings do not make a princess. Princesses do not have wings, except in some roleplaying games, and that a function of their species, and not their princessness. I would also love to see my husband in a dress. Not one of mine-he's slightly larger than me and a very different shape.

DH looks really good in a kilt. He's definitely got kilt legs. Which is probably why he also looks good in black, thigh-high stockings. I'm jealous! (And trying to figure out if I can talk DH into doing that for me!)

LMAO!!! I could only get my DH to wear eyeliner when he was lead singer in a rock band many years ago. But he did let me put make up on him once. He gets stubble and a shadow an hour after he shaves so it wasn't really a good look for him. But it was still fun - for me! ;D
