Mine are way too small for my DH. They would hurt him. I also don't think I'd like him with a squeaky voice either.

What in the heck are these "feminine things"? If we're talking about figuring out the best method for giving birth yourself, I might understand. Deciding which tampon serves your needs best is probably a "feminine thing". Since those are things boys don't have to do, you can't be talking about those. So ... what "feminine things"?

It removes some of the ideas that feminine things are weak or unworthy of male participation. And you think that is not at the expense of the little boy? Are not feminie things unworthy of male participation by definition? Wow. I made peace with the dictionary definitions of feminine and masculine as to pertaining to those things female and male respectively. I have decided that means anything a man chooses to do therefore is masculine and likewise anything a woman chooses to do is feminine. Obviously you believe in some very strongly typed gender roles. I'm not entirely sure I want to know how you choose to define them. My thought is if there really are these inherent gender differences we do not need to create them artificially.

"I'm not ashamed to dress 'like a woman' because I don't think it's shameful to be a woman." Iggy Pop There is an accompanying photo of him wearing a dress, but I can't figure out how to post it, so you'll just have to imagine it, or Google it yourself.

Let me just add that I am a very girly girl in terms of dress - tons of skirts, dresses, heels, etc. Long hair. But I am probably the opposite of what anyone would consider a "good woman", except in regards to enjoying sex with men. I got that down. You must be my long lost sister I must be a long lost sister too.

I wanted them to wear a dress at least once a week when they were young. And lastly, all the important people in my life are females and I think they and all females should have every opportunity that men get. --------------- Except wear pants seven days a week. Got it.

I do like to wear dresses. My SOs wearing my panties is their idea, not mine. I don't know why some of them like to do that, but they do. I have virtually no interest in wearing theirs. It doesn't make me feel "naughty".

For frak's sake.. why do we (as a society) give such a crap about what people wear at all? As long as it's clean and doesn't show their butt crack, let people where whatever they want and stop judging them!

I'm not entirely sure I want to know how you choose to define them. My thought is if there really are these inherent gender differences we do not need to create them artificially. I don't believe in strong gender roles at all, and don't know how you could come to that conclusion from what I wrote. The three things I have said on the subject are that a 4 year old boy should not be dressed as a girl. The three girls who I raised, I wanted them to wear a dress at least once a week when they were young. And lastly, all the important people in my life are females and I think they and all females should have every opportunity that men get. How I came to that conclusion, this statement: Are not feminie things unworthy of male participation by definition? Since you declined to explain that and seem fixated on making your children to wear dresses I am still inclined to think you have some strong gender stereotyping in your beliefs. If you had boys would you have required them to wear a tie at least once a week so they knew they were boys?

I'm having a hard time focusing on the discussion because I got distracted with the kilt thing. I had to go google Gerard Butler in a kilt (possibly the sexist man in a kilt ever) and what should pop up but a picture of naked Gerard Butler with the caption "must have forgotten his kilt." Now I can't remember what we were talking about....

Are not feminie things unworthy of male participation by definition? I agree with you in the sense that you make a kid's life more difficult if you let them dress in a bizarre manner. But it doesn't reach the level of bizarre for a boy to wear a pair of wings over his normal street clothes. As for the unworthy bit, now you're just trying to get me going!

wow, I can't believe this thing has gone 11 pages....and you're discussing who's DH wears your panties??
how many men here have worn their wive's underbritches??
I haven't....I'm sure I wouldn't fit, and I'm sure she wouldn't like it if I did....
But that's great that some women like to share their under-things... :-)

I think Latebloomer isn't into the idea of sharing her own panties. I don't care if DH wants to wear female underwear, but please don't expect me to share mine. Buy your own.

I agreed with you a while back about not dressing a boy as a girl in general. But a princess or fairy costume in specific is not a problem. It is a costume. As long as Freddie Kruger is fair game so are princesses and fairies.

Of course! I've never owned a pair of those so I wasn't considering them.
Sit down to pee? Dang. Sounds like a big mess to me.

I have been trying to get DH to dress up like a woman for Halloween since I met him! He has incredibly long legs that would look great in a mini skirt and a pair of heels. I have been shot down every time for the past 19 years. Maybe next year will be lucky #20!! ;D
