We've all seen or read about people who have done some pretty desperate things in desperate situations. Like eating dead people to keep from starving. Instead of calling those people names, I feel so badly for them. I cannot fathom being desperate enough to fall for something like that, but I suppose in times of crisis, it's any port in a storm. Please don't change my words. TYVM. Desparate and foolish are entirely different things. I did not change your words, I changed my words to what I feel.

What's pathetic, is that even after being exposed as a fraud and charleton, and bilking people out of millions, he's still allowed to run his scam - using people's faith in miracles as his drawing card. -------------- Because we were discussing it, I watched some of it last night. His new target audience seems to be comprised entirely of African-Americans. I wonder why that is? You should have heard some of the (paid) testimonials. 'After I received the Miracle Water, my debts were wiped out!" "After receiving the Miracle Water, I got a cheque in the mail for $39,000!" "Thanks to the Miracle Water, I received a notice from the bank that someone paid my mortgage! Hallelujah!" There was no mention of where this money is supposedly coming from. Maybe people think God himself is writing cheques and sending them out? It boggles the mind.

If it magically showed up in their accounts or cleared their mortgages, then it must have been done by direct-deposit.

I have another question for us to ponder. Do you believe there are guardian angels? This would refer to a personal angel that has been assigned to each individual. In addition, do you think angels assist us when we're in trouble? How (what avenues do they use) do they help us out? If you believe in angels, what types are there? Warrior? Guardian? Helpers? Whatever you think would be interesting to hear (to me). Guardian angels? No, I don't believe in guardian angels and if they do exist then they suck at their job/s. How can those guardian angels let little children get sick or ill? Why not protect them from lil mishaps and accidents? Are the angel sleeping or on a part time contract and so allow one to fall ill? Whatever it be, guardian angels are there to guard one's health. As a child I'd communicate with angels or to the imaginary angel friends I had made. I found it nice and perhaps it was sweet but what happened to those angels as I grew up? They deserted me.

Please don't change my words. TYVM. Desparate and foolish are entirely different things. I didn't change your words. I copied another post. Please don't accuse me of something I didn't do. TYVM. And, yes. Desperate and foolish ARE entirely different things, and I'm not qualified to judge who is desperate and who is foolish. Therefore, I won't make any assumptions. I knew a mother who was so desperate to find a cure for her cancer so that she wouldn't leave her children without a mom that she went to all kinds of quacky websites and ordered all kinds of strange stuff. Desperate or foolish? One is a horrible state of mind. The other is rather insulting. I wasn't saying you did it. TYVM you simply copied it and ran with it.

I see. My mistake. Since you copied MY post and replied to it with "please don't change my words", I assumed you were talking to me.

ROSE said: I thought God promised us a Garden if we followed Christ's teachings
My impression is the garden is later. Heaven. Other than that I don't remember any promises for us on earth. I feel we are here to serve each other. That's not to say we need to be door mats or have no convictions. It's a lot of work, Rose, this understanding stuff.
ROSE also said" This is my personal realization.they suck at their job/s.
I do see a bit of humor in this statement. ;D

It's only as good as the belief of the person. Too bad we couldn't have an online book club. I'd recommend "Climbing the Mountain". Boy could we have a great conversation with that one.

I recall her buying these new-age spiritual magazines with articles written by self-described 'Green Witches' and the like, who would offer advice on how to procure the services of this or that angel, and how to 'locate your inner fairy', or something similar. Dayum… I don't need to be locating no inner fairies.

Hiya Rose! I'm a gardener, & have always had a soft spot for roses. (But haven't managed to grow anything more complicated than a rosebush. Someday I'll figure out how to keep the hybrids healthy.) My belief is God did give us a perfect world, then Adam & Eve gave the devil access to the world. So, in the world we have to deal with both the devil & God. The devil trys to destroy, and God works by repairing & rebuilding. My son has a good work ethic, and I believe will get as far as he is able to in life. He's got a positive, "can do" attitude. And, he's already gotten further in life than the people predicted during his preschool years.... ;D

Wasn't the devil (for lack of better words) also created by this god? I thought the forbidden fruit was offered to test Adam & Eve's temptation. They failed the test and were banished from the Garden.
Since most are saying that god is the creator of all things, it stands to reason that the devil (or evil spirit) is his work as well.

It was interesting.... until a short time ago. Hehe, the less sycophancy I we see, the better. •I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things. (Isaiah 45:7, KJV) Ha, I knew the Biblical God created EVIL too. So why do many Christians deny this?

SL, yup, you're right, the devil and all the angels were all created by God. Some rebelled (the devil talked some others in attempting a takeover, which failed).

Anyway, I was thinking that if the deal is/was btw God and Satan then why did God agree to it? Why not just throw Satan in hellfire for his rebellion and the act of tempting Eve? I've always been inquisitive and have asked questions re faith. Some answers seems fitting but some contradictory.

I think everybody has questions. But, I also think that's a sign of intelligence. By the way, when God finally does throw the devil into the fiery furnace, I wanna help!
