I have a question about CVS website. My quarterly spending was showing a $ amount but in the past week or so it started showing $0 for this quarter. Does anybody else have the same thing happen? Is this normal?

Great job on the Wisk stockpile. I recently stockpiled a few more myself. Now I have a smorgasbord of Wisk, All, and Purex in my stockpile. I can't remember the last time that I bought Tide. It is ridiculously expensive, but there are a lot of people that feel that their laundry comes out "cleaner" with Tide. Personally, for the type of laundry that I do, I cannot tell a difference. I've mentioned before that I have to use Tide on my husband's work clothes. Nothing else will work. But, being the Frugalista I am, I snapped up a few other types of detergent (Wisk & Gain) in the last year year or so when I got a super crazy deal. Well, I am SO thankful I have those in my stockpile. We're currently undergoing renovations at my house. I use sheets & blankets (purchased from a thrift store of course) to cover furniture to keep the dust down. I have to wash about 10+ blankets plus sheets this week from last week's mess. I am so glad to be able to use the cheap stuff, rather than the more expensive Tide.

I'm baaaaaack! How has everyone been doing? We just got back from our vacation yesterday and I am soooooo tired! I didn't read the pages I missed but I hope everyone is doing well. I didn't get any papers the past couple of weeks which I know will be a bummer in the futre but I did try and get to Shoprite today and try my hand at the Back To Schoo/Kraft double dip and it went slick as snot. ;D I got 2 capri roarin waters..................$4.00 (BTS) 4 oscar mayer deli fresh meats 7oz.....11.96 (BTS & Kraft) 4 kraft 12 oz singles............................7.96 (Kraft) 2 velveta shells and cheese.................5.00 (BTS & Kraft) Total after coupons and tax.................19.10 I got back the $5 BTS cat plus a $10 Kraft one. So I ended up with a final prorated amount of $4.10 or 0.34 cents each!!! I hope the other Shoprite shopers here have as good luck with it!

I am planning on getting some Revlon next week. If anybody has any Revlon coupons that they are not planning on using, I'd appreciate it. Thank you!

Got tired of the $5 here and $5 there stockpile upgrades. Dropped a small fortune (for me as a single) Tue but got just about all I need. Also did a MAJOR Aldi buy since I will NOT go there until at least 9/7. Link (food stamp) debit cards get loaded Fri and it’s a holiday weekend so MANY buying, stocking up and then refilling after Mon.
Leanna Personally, I find Wisk to be just as good as Tide. Have you tried it on DH’s things?

CVS RAIN CHECK ALERT: Gold Emblem Chips (11 oz) 4/$5 (9/9 ad) If you use chips occasionally, $1.25 is a stock up price for these chips. In the past the sale prices have been $1.50 and $1.88. They usually have a pretty long expiration date on the bags (months long), so getting 5 or 6 and storing them (or hiding - as is the case in my house) is perfect. My store generally does not stock very many of them even when they are on sale, so I am already planning on grabbing a couple of rain checks for them. As most of you know, I am the family clam dip and chip gal. That is one thing that I am regularly asked to bring to family get togethers. I always make sure that I have clams, cream cheese, and chips in my stockpile so that something that would cost me over $10 to go out and buy, doesn't. I usually buy the clams and chips at CVS with rain checks using excess EBs and wait until cream cheese is on sale for $1 and buy several. Note: The Nice cream cheese at WAGs isn't very "nice". It's fine for the clam dip, but not very good if you're spreading it on bagels. Hope all this blabbering helps.

Combine this with the $1/2 or $.75/2 Nabisco (8/5 SS) on a good sale and you'll have yourself some pretty cheap Nabisco saltines. Right now they're son sale at CVS for $2.50 ea. $7.50 (3) Nabisco saltines -2.50 (1) Buy 2/Get 1 Free IP -1.00 (1) $1/2 (8/5 SS) $4.00 OOP for (3) boxes or $1.33 ea. STOCKPILING DILEMMA
You guys know that I'm all about $0 OOP or pennies on the dollar, so I am doubting whether or not I should do this deal and wanted some input.
One of my ethnic markets has Downy (64 oz.) on sale for $2.50 and I have (6) $2/2 Downy coupons from last month's P&G that expire on Friday and I'm trying to decide whether or not to stockpile at $1.50/bottle.
Ordinarily I would automatically take a pass on anything where I have to put out so much in OOP, but I'm wondering if this might actually be a pretty decent deal.
In an upcoming CVS ad, Downy (44-51 oz.) will be on sale for $5.99. Recently I saw smaller bottles (smaller than the 44-51 oz) of Downy on clearance at CVS for $2.46 (I didn't buy any). I know that on a rare occasion, we have been able to get fabric softener for free, but in one case it was due to a glitch at WAGs and then there was the small bottles of Gain when it first came out and was free after coupon at RA. I have a couple bottles of Snuggle and can't remember for the life of me how I got it, but I'm sure it was free too.
The deals aren't what they used to be, so I seem to be trying to talk myself into this, put out the OOP, and forget about having to stockpile any more Downy for a very long time.
What do you guys think? Be brutally honest.

Dancin, how many loads will a 64oz bottle do?
I don't use liquid fabric softener just the sheets so I don't buy it but I do see the sales pretty often. I think I have seen it on sale for 2.50-3.00 recently but I don't remember what size. The biggest problem with remembering prices for me now is the ever shrinking products! Maybe it is an ultra type that uses less to do more loads but that sounds real close to the price my store had it on sale for without a coupon to me.
I could be wrong (hi Lena!). If I needed it and that was a brand I liked I would probably split the difference and buy a few to tide me over till it went on sale again. If I didn't need it I would probably just take a pass till I could use my ECB's to get it for less even if I lost ECB's in the deal.
Maybe I am jaded though because in my area detergent and fabric softener goes on sale quite often and for is pretty cheap. I would trade for some of those bread and milk prices though! ;D

Dancin, I thought I'd never run out of fabric softener after getting so much free Gain a couple of years ago but I'm down to my last 3 bottles. If Downy is something you regularly use, then I would get it or else wait and use your store rewards. When I run out of my Gain, I will not buy any more unless I can get it free with rewards because it is not something that I have to have. As long as I have dryer sheets, I'm good to go but I love the smell of the clothes after they've been rinsed with Gain.

It is 64 oz. but supposedly, it only does 21 loads. I won't know for sure until I actually look at the bottle. I usually water down fabric softener anyway because we have soft water, so I would only use half as much as what they say, but still. Right now I am using the small bottles of Gain that we got for free at RA. I pour the entire bottle in a large, empty Downy bottle, fill the Gain bottle with water and add it to the fabric softener in the Downy bottle, and shake well. It does the job. Unfortunately, there aren't very good deals where I live on fabric softener. For example, I can't remember CVS ever having it in conjunction with an EB or GC deal...ever.

Unfortunately, the instructions for my dryer specifically say not to use dryer sheets, so that's out for me. CVS probably would be the only place that I could use rewards to buy it, since I'm not really shopping much at WAGs or RA. I even have a rain check for $3.99 for a 40 load bottle of the Ultra Downy which would be $2.99 after the $2/2 coupon that expires on Friday. I don't have to have it either because our water is soft, but darn I sure like the way fabric softener makes the laundry smell.

Leanna Personally, I find Wisk to be just as good as Tide. Have you tried it on DH’s things? Yes, I have. I've tried most every brand, and only Tide will work. My husband works in a steel plant and the things that get in his clothes are pretty severe. I would imagine that most people would not have this issue. Other detergents work just fine for me for taking out regular dirt - even major dirt. But when you're dealing with oil, of the type they use, it gets into a whole other level.

DancinMama,
I don't actually use fabric softener, so for me, this wouldn't be under my "must have" list. That said, since you said you really like how it smells, and you are a high-level Frugalista, I would say go ahead and buy a few if you haven't seen anything at this price level. Last time I got free fabric softener was when I first joined you all, sometime in 2011. So, yeah, it's been a long time since we've seen free fabric softener.
I actually need to get laundry detergent and there hasn't been a good deal on Tide since March 2012, which is over 5 months ago. Maybe we'll see some laundry product sales soon? I sure hope so!

I guess I'm not going to know until I go to the store and verify that such a large bottle (64 oz) really only does 21 loads. If that's the case, I'll probably take a pass. If it actually does more loads than that, then I'll re-evaluate and decide right there in the store. Good thing the market is just two blocks away from my regular shopping quadrant.

I don't use fabric softener anymore either...for my washer I use vinegar with a touch of essential oil and for the dryer I just wad up a ball of aluminum foil and it takes out the static, so there is my almost free softeners lol

I am SOOO tempted. Meeting a friend for linner (late lunch/early dinner) today. It is my turn to buy so a BIG budget hit. Place we are going is in a strip mall w/the deli that makes homemade pierogi that are really good. However, it is a budget buster in price, especially since it is my turn to pay for dinner..
Looks like CVS is out to compete w/WAG. Just signed up for their new promo: DOUBLE quarterly EB on purchases 9/16 to 12/31/12. Note the start date. Guess that means I will get $1 instead of my usual 0.50. Sign up at CVS dot com.

Dancin'- I just put a load of laundry in and noticed the fabric softener I am using is the 64 oz. Gain. It really is 21 loads, although I always use less than it says. It is already really watered down though. Definitely not my favorite. I, too, am down to just one or two bottles of softener and haven't seen a good deal or good coupon at all lately. I did buy ONE Downey a few weeks ago at cvs. It was on sale for like 4.99 and I had $1/1 MC and a x/xx coupon so I added this to my order. I had so much free snuggle from that $3/1 coupon, I never thought I'd run out...

Re fabric softener: I do have to use it, unfortunately, because we have hard water. I've tried twinmama's vinegar in with the wash, but it doesn't do the trick. I, too, loaded up when I had the $3/1 Snuggle q and when Gain first came out. But I found myself down to the last little bit and had to find some fast. Thankfully, I am not brand specific and got 2 bottles of Nice 'n Fluffly last week at RA. They were $1.97 and I got them in connection with the Samy haircolor--sale price $8.99 and used a $5 man q and $6 RA in ad q. That gave me $2.01 overage so I got the Nice ' Fluffy, used a $1 and paid very little oop.
Dancin: I haven't seen any great deals on name brand fabric softener in a very long time. We also never get the Revlon q's in our inserts that everyone else seems to get. LOCC!

Wanted to share some wonderful news today! As many of you know, life is a bit tough right now. But today, God blessed us! My son saw a developmental specialist today and said that he isn't autistic, that we are probably dealing more with ADHD than we are autism and that a lot of his behavior issues is more related to the fact that he was preemie, his dad was hyperactive as a child and that hes a boy!! I am so thrilled and thankful to God. Even if he was autistic, I wouldn't care, I would love my son no matter what, but this is truly a blessing and takes some stress off of me.
