Its been bad from around June 20 through potentially July 18. I think the temps are supposed to drop enough that the heat index will be under 100 degrees for the near future.
Watching NJ12 and jealous of the people in Belmar for the annual sand sculpture competition. This year's winner looks neat . The shore is generally cooler than inland so always popular during these high temp times. Hopefully the shore businesses are having a banner year.

From my Weather Channel email today:
"Good Morning. A significant preliminary record was hit this week in Deadhorse, Alaska, a community located near the frigid Arctic Ocean, when the temperature hit 89 degrees, absolutely shattering the location’s all-time record of 85 degrees, which was set back in July 2016. According to Alaska-based climatologist Brian Brettschneider, this is the hottest temperature ever reliably measured so far north in Alaska.
To put this in perspective, this record high was over 35 degrees above average. The average high temperature in Deadhorse hits its maximum in July at 55 degrees, while the average August high is closer to 50 degrees. It’s a reminder that climate change isn’t just happening in the places we already think of as hot. In fact, the U.S. National Climate Assessment released last fall found that Alaska is warming two to three times faster than the global average."

Weltz has been reporting higher temperatures in Canada than I experience in CNJ for quite some time now. Melting polar ice is changing the dynamics at the poles but also all around the globe due to water levels etc. In more regional news, I am glad that the track of Debby has it dumping less rain on us Friday than what was suggested yesterday. Of course that all may change including the track of the storm. Four inches of rain a day or less is more than enough given current rain and the fact that my piece of CNJ is weirdly moist yet again.

Not good today, but have no idea how it will go. This is central NJ's maximum exposure to now tropical cyclone Debby. Possible tornados, rain, wind, and trees falling down due to sodden ground, wind and yet more rain. Outside there are full size mushrooms in the grass by me. I can see more that might be full grown by day's end. Its were the high heat turned most of the grass brown. Crap NJ12 is showing floodwaters in Engelwood,NJ. The warning on weather.com showing issues with NJ, Delaware and the entire Eastern part of PA. Time to make sure candles are in every room, etc.

So far OK, but I should check the updated warnings. 80s mostly for today, hopefully only low 90s for tomorrow.

Today was the best in the mid 80's with low humidity and a slight breeze. Spent the day at the park enjoying a boat ride and a walk around the lake in the shade off trees. Lots of families picnicking in the shade of trees.

At 10:21AM 9/5/2024 it is a beautiful 69° F currently. I'd like it to stay between 70-80°, but they say it's going to get in the high 80's today.
Yesterday's weather was wonderful, until the monsoon rains hit in the late afternoon.

Today and tomorrow are high in pollen according to the allergy forecast. So not that good for me. I wonder if its been high pollen for a few days already.
Should be a nice day. 70s with sun already coming earlier to heat up the front of my place.

Wow. It's only 67° F here, at 5:30 PM. The temps are cooling down really quickly.
I've had my door wide open all day, but now I'm getting chilly. I need to put on a t-shirt and socks.
Are you ready for Halloween?

Raining, Day 3, and this is not even Milton yet. All driveways and yards are flooded. Roads and parking lots, too. I am driving nowhere for the next 48 hours.

Y'all stay safe, now. Ya'hear? Please check back in, when you can. Tennesseer, are you good? Good here, thanks. The storm will be four hundred plus miles away from me. It will cross Florida and then head out into the Atlantic and only bother sea traffic.
