22 Record low. I feel for folks having to deal with rolling black outs. That has to be a pain in the a@@ and people on oxygen and such. I won't complain since so much worse going on in areas and I at least have power and sunshine. Take care folks and stay safe During the blackout several hours ago, the temp in my home went down five degrees in 45 minutes. What pisses me off is I have to pay for the electricity to re-warm my home. Not my problem our utility company turned off my/our power.

Are your temps any warmer today? we had a second blackout from 8:30 to 8:50, so looks like ours will be 20 minute segments. The first one was 6:50 to 7:10. Slightly better: high of 27 and a low of 15 tonight. Warmer still tomorrow: 31/21. Then back to 40s, 50s, and 60s for a bit. No second blackout yet. You? Our forecast is roughly the same on this side of the state, although we are still in the single digits right now. We haven’t had a 3rd blackout yet.

Not to mention the sudden power surge when everyone’s system powers back up at the same time. oh, and it took only 20 min for the temp in the house to drop 5 degrees during the first blackout.

After not being without electricity or any heat for seven days this past February due to an ice storm here, I am starting to really dislike winter. Normally they have been relatively mild winters these past years. But with the second hottest summer on record this year and these wicked cold snaps, it sucks. I'd tell you to move to Florida (I DID have amazingly good neighbors), BUT, my old neighborhood was ordered to evacuate twice this year for hurricanes, so maybe not... I have a house in Hawaii picked out for when I win the lottery. It seems to be a safe location from volcanic explosions.

Volcanic explosions and hurricane prone locals are my choice of natural disasters. You get plenty of warning and you can haul A if so inclined. I have a HN plan in place if necessary

The weather for Sandy Eggo and environs: Today it will be 75o and sunny and tomorrow it will be 80o and even more sunny. I will think back to my time in Niagara Falls and shiver once for y'all, then be on my merry way to the sundeck to work on my tan!

80F? You are welcome to keep that down there with you. The local wildlife and I don’t do well when it’s much hotter then +26C.
We deal with it when we have to but we don’t like it

Finally got above 32 degrees today. Our utility company stated we no longer have to drip our faucets. But we do have to boil our drinking water because some of our city's water main pipes burst due to the cold. Fear of bacteria from entering our drinking water due to busted pipes.
Much of the city, including me, have had very low water pressure due to the busted main water pipes. Don't know when water pressure will be back to normal. Soon I hope. Cannot wash laundry until water pressure returns to normal.

Sorry to hear about the busted water mains. There were a number of them up here too. I hope it doesn’t take too long to get things fixed. Take care

Tonight's overnight temp will be 50 degrees warmer than it was last Friday morning. Warm up continues-hit 62 degrees today.
Water pressure back to normal. Laundry done.

But I hope you enjoy it! It snowed lightly all night here, but increased early this morning. I've heard the snow plow go down my street 4 times in the last approximately 9 hours. That's a lot. There's a winter storm warning in effect, through Monday morning. Supposed to get up to 12" on the Valley floor.

Rain started about 8:30 a.m. And continuing. At time very heavy.
This is probably part of the atmospheric river hitting CA.

It's still snowing here. But not very hard, at the moment. Still, I wish it would stop. Although we do need the water.

I live in a fourth floor apartment. I have no garden, I have no grass, I have no flowers, and my car is parked in a garage UNDER the building! My greatest joy is working on my tan on the sundeck. WTF do I need with rain??!!

So I'd say, yes, we need water.

Sixty-two degrees with a tornado watch until 0400 hours.
And after our extremely cold weather last week, my daffodils are breaking ground.

I can't get warm tonight. Freezing rain is supposed to turn into snow between 2-4AM tonight and continue snowing throughout the day tomorrow. Heavy, cold, wet snow, they say.
We've had a lot of snow this winter. Do you suppose it will refill the Great Salt Lake and Lake Powell? Lake Mead is another important one.

We got the "official total" for our area: 14 inches of new snow. You should see the pile by the street! If this keeps up, I don't know where we'll park the snow when we clear the driveway. I hope the rest of January and February is a lot kinder.

I hope the rest of January and February is a lot kinder. We had several apt carports collapse onto cars this last weekend, due to the amount and the weight of the snow that came down. One of them came down and not only crashed the cars under it, it also blocked the entrance to and from several Apts. It required the fire department, tow trucks and various other people to dig them out, remove the damaged cars,as well as the structures that had collapsed. The roads to the ski resorts were closed for snow removal for 2-3 days, so the resorts were closed. Tractors were brought in to the city, to clear driveways. And there's no end in sight, yet. Lots of towns have sevier flooding and even in SLC there have been water and sewer line breaks. I hope we don't end up with major flooding, turning main streets into major, high flowing rivers again, with many roads closed. And bridges built for pedestrian to get across the street/river. I can't remember for sure, but I think it happened in either 1982 or 1987. I'm glad I lease a garage to park in!

It is March 30th and I have 4 inches of snow in my back yard and it is still falling. I am so over this garbage winter. Yeah, yeah great for the draught but I want some sunshine.

Well, March is SUPPOSED to come in like a lion, and go out like a lamb. Not this year. We're supposed to be getting another snowstorm beginning either tonight or tomorrow, and running thru Saturday.

Tornadoes a possibility.
Much like last week. And the week before. And the week before that. Etc

According to the Weather Channel, a very high risk of tornadoes for my area tonight (9 out of max 10 TorCon rating).
Power outages assured.
