Currently (almost 11PM) 37° Predicted low tonight 31° High tomorrow 51°
It's starting to get a bit chillier than even I would like. Esp if I take my medication for sweats. But mostly, that's because suddenly its going to be too cold to go outside with my grands, to play on the swingset and trampoline. I turned my A/C off today, but I haven't heard my furnace come on. Oh, wait. It just came on.

Southwestern Indiana, oh my was 78 today!! Supposed to be in the 70's again tomorrow, unreal for end of October.
But starting Sat high in 50's some rain and 2 nights next week to the low 20's, so its changing. We desperately need rain here. But the trees are prettier than I have seen them in years.

I hope it isn't raining and in the 20s on Halloween. That would be miserable for both parents and kids. I'm glad you're enjoying the colors on the trees/ of the leaves.

It's snowing! I had unrealistic thoughts of being done with snow for the year. Wishful thinking!
Ugh.

I don't know if I'm happy for you, or sad for me! Some of both, I suppose. I'm freezing!

Not yesterday or today. Both had daytime highs of 70 degrees. No wicked cold or snowy weather forecast at least for the next ten days. Highs in the 50s and 60s.

Summers hotter than average and now winters colder than average.

But then, I dealt with most everything better then.

After many days of gloomy, rainy weather, this morning it has once again, turned to snow. The flakes are huge! And after cooling down over night, they are quickly covering the ground, cars and structures.
I am so over this crazy weather pattern! I would like it to be predictable, so I don't get weather related surprises.
I am not a fan of surprises, of any kind.

For a long time this morning, it was snowing huge flakes, that stuck to the ground. Now they have turned into a million tiny flakes, that are still sticking to the ground. My care has been covered and uncovered by snow 2-3 times today. It's used to the protection of a garage. Other than brief periods while I'm out, it doesn't normally sit out in the weather.
I'm glad I drove it yesterday, to keep things lubed and working.

I'm over winter and this cold weather! I'd rather have Spring, or Fall. No extremes. 🤞

Snow is on the way so I should make plans for today. Snow is supposed to start after midnight. Weather.com has increased the forecast to 4 to 7 inches from the 1 to 4 inches a couple days ago. I hope it is the latter not the current prediction, as I like being able to walk on sidewalks not moguls and ice to the bus stop.
Not sure how to get in laundry and returns and mail in today. A big part of me just wants to sleep.

Starting to listen to NJ12 to get a better idea of weather impacts here. My area might be in the 3 to 6 inches swath. While the highs will be above freezing, the lows have been below freezing most days so whatever it is might last awhile.

When I went to bed the storm was supposed to be done by 11AM t Noon timeframe. Now weather.com has it continuing up to 2PM with wintry mix in there at the end. Going to make things messier than the initial prediction but hopefully better than the up to 7 inch one. How are things for other East coast folks so far?

The sky has been dark and dreary for the last several days. I'm not sure if it's the weather or pollution. But if it's pollution, we're in trouble. Because it's BAD!

El Nino has been living up to its reputation here.
It has mostly been unseasonably warm. Not a lot of days where the high is in the -Teens C, let alone the -20s C. Lots of days where the high was near or above freezing. So far, we've had one week where temps got into the low -30s/-40s C. It was quite windy as well so the temperatures were very cold. My dogs don't have much of a winter coat this year. They didn't get night walks that week although they would have been happy to go.
There hasn't been a lot of snow or even rain. Last I heard, snow pack is down 35% to 46% in BC depending on where you look. They are already warning people to expect water restrictions to start early. My local area ended the Fall at Level 4 Drought and the Northeast corner of BC where a lot of fires are ended the Fall at Level 5 Drought (worst). On an anecdotal note, 46% seems like too small a number. I'm about 5' 3". Walking the dogs last year, if I strayed off my beaten path or the sun softened the snow during the day, I sunk up to my hip and didn't touch bottom. This year, the accumulated snow hasn't been much past my ankle because only about 10 cm has fallen at a time and most of it melts away before the next snowfall. The walking danger this year isn't getting stuck, it's guessing wrong if there's gravel or ice under the snow and falling. It makes it hard to get any actual exercise in no matter the length of the walk.
I've heard that the dam on the Nechako is holding back the river flow which is why the river is low. The Nechako flows into the Fraser here. There are places downstream on the Fraser that get their water supply from the river so they are trying to keep a supply for later for people use and the Salmon, if need be. We'll see.
BC and Alberta have both issued press notices about the overwintering fires. Normally overwintering fires don't show smoke until March or April but some of them are showing now. Both provinces have WAY more overwintering fires then usual. The average is about 6 . Last I heard Alberta had 57 and BC had 91. For BC, this is an improvement because they counted 106 in January. If you had problems with smoke from BC or Alberta last year, anticipate it again this year.
Unless El Nino does transition quickly into La Nina and then we might have a cool and wet Spring/Summer maybe. Who knows.

It's raining here today. Or maybe I should say drizzling. (Wet) It sounds kind of miserable where you are, mollyc. Stay safe! We had significant droughts here, for the last 2-3 years. I think we're finally starting to catch up again. But The Great Salt Lake is still low. Boats that normally dock on The Great Salt Lake year round, had to be pulled from the water last summer. The Great Sat Lake isn't very deep, but it covers a HUGE area. So to have to pull the boats from the marina is a big deal. I don't think they're very close to being able to put them back in, yet. But I hear the Brine Shrimp are doing very well. They make being on the lake kind of miserable. You can't see, or breathe without them going into your mouth, nose and eyes. Remember seeing ads in the back of comic books for Sea Monkeys? They're really Brine Shrimp, I've heard. LOL 0

Pollen is killer. Nose and throat. Rain doesn’t help at all but did bring cooler temps and less humidity.

One wouldn't know it, and I have my windows open, but the local weather forecast was just on tv. In the lower right had corner the current temperature read -999 degrees.
I guess I will lower my windows a little bit to keep the cold out.

It’s been beautiful for several days. Not too hot and not too humid. Pollen is gone, thankfully. I’m enjoying it while it lasts.

The rain has stopped here. But it's still overcast. It's 60°, which isn't bad.
I haven't been outside yet today. I'll go out soon, when I check my mail. Maybe I'll take a walk at that time too.
