Hello all! I do in fact exist! Been busy with the kids. Yesterday took DS#1 to the amusement park for the first time. Were there 9 HOURS! I could hardly walk this morning. We had a blast and I don't have to do a kids birthday party. I also had Pepsi cans which saved us $25 getting in (I also had one for my sister and niece who also came.) We rode most the rides, ate a bunch of junk food bought DD a bracelet and I found sunglasses that will work for only $13!
3cats: Lots of prayers and wishes for you! Hope things go well.
mizbear: You can borrow my children anytime you like!
honey: Sorry about the teeth issues but glad you are on the mend. Good juju for your potential job!
I have been dealing with some extreme anger lately and really having a hard time getting over it. To the point where I would have loved to have smashed something but didn't since I didn't want to tramatize my children or clean up the mess. I wrote about it in my journal and it did help a lot. Has anyone here ever dealt with this? My doc says I am WAY too early for menopause, although my mother was dealing with it by the age of 42. She was so bad I moved out at 19, my kids won't have that choice.

MK; I have been dealing with anger issues for about 8 years now. Actually it has been over 8 years. I have 2 journals filled. I wrote one person a letter and took it to his grave and read it out loud, stomped my feet and burned it on his grave and cried. That is what my psychiatrist told me to do. I also copied the letter and gave her a copy. It did look a little funny but it worked for awhile, and now I am dealing with another issue but this person isn't dead yet. Maybe Sunday, JK. I have been through menopause since I was 45 and I am still dealing with hot spells and really bad mood swings, sometimes minute by minute swings. And the tears are still coming when I least expect them.

Update: 2 NSDs and 3 CSDs
Just a quick pop - in to say hello. Just returned from vacation and haven't had a chance to catch up on the news as of yet. i spent everyday but came in within budget so I am happy for that. Most of my vacation expenses were on food. Had a great time and am beginning to save for future trips. Also it is time to get back on track.
Hope all of you had a great two weeks.

yesterday was a NS but today was a spend. I went out to get groceries. Back at home I got some of my projects finished and just relaxed most of the day. Made a veggie/chicken/pasta dish and pretzel bites - yumm!
I picked up some spray paint for the swinging bench project. If I can just get the last 3 boards off (the bolts are rusted pretty bad) then I can wash it down and sand it.
Almost done painting the bookshelf white and then I'll be able to start on the headboard or nightstands.

Made it through the reunion and no one died. We had family from Arizona, West Virginia, New York and parts of PA. I did spend but the food I spent on became part of my groceries because what is left over I can use for my meals. So I am at: 21/30 NSD, 21/30 NEO, and $0 in savings.

Rocky Mtn Saver: 9/30 NSD, 5/30 CSD (<$5). I had a pretty frugal weekend, which was intentional. I got rid of my houseguest on Friday, so I spent much of Saturday and Sunday doing some housework & yardwork and having some much-needed Me-Time! ;D It's going to be a busy week at work, since it's the last week of the fiscal year, so hopefully I won't have any time to spend money I don't have. Bring on the first and PayDay!

3cats - Hugs to you. Glad you managed ok.
I've not been doing real well this month. The nausea and puking has done nothing for me staying on track without eating out. I try leftovers whenever I can. We just kind of make do a lot around the house, but lunches are the worst since i'm typically sickest between 10 and noon and then i just want to eat what I think I can keep down in the afternoon. After gaining 3 pounds fairly early in this pregnancy, I'm down to my pre-preg weight. Based on how I was with DS, I'm guessing I have at least another month of this. Add in the fact that it is going to be over 90 all week and more like 100, I'm just miserable. I'm going to start pre-natal yoga this week. DH resigned from his position on the church board; so his Thursday nights are free and that is the one night they have prenatal yoga. DH has a doctor appt with his GP this week because we think he is dealing with depression. I'm swamped at work. Fun stuff. I guess the bottom line is that this too shall pass, but until then I guess I just have to put one foot in front of the other and try not to throw up on my feet while I do it.

Hang in there! I guess I just have to put one foot in front of the other and try not to throw up on my feet while I do it. I think this could be a life motto for so many of us at times!

Update: 6 NSD, 4 CSD
Wow this month has sucked on the spending control! Officially I knew it was going to be a busy month but spending 5 days in the bay area, coming home and going back to the bay area for 3 more days I knew it was going to be a struggle.
Hoping for 4 more NSD this week which will work if I can combine all my chores on Friday (chiropractor, printing, shipping a package, buying light bulbs, etc)

start- If you haven't gotten those bolts out yet- you can use a grinder or dremel tool to cut them.
Anger issues- I have been dealing with those a lot lately. I know that mine can be helped my music therapy, exercise, yoga. meditation, aromatherapy, herbal tea- or just getting some space ;D.
Leg cramps- Any of you ladies have any clue what might cause lots of leg cramps? (Other than the fact I am sleeping on the love seat in the living room?) Any suggestions on how to prevent them?
Funny/ not so funny story- not for the faint of heart- my apartment is apparently being haunted. When I first moved here, my purple coffee cup would move from time to time- it was the only dish I brought from my DGMs house. I used to have coffee with my DGF before he passed away- I just figured he was picking on me and moving the cup. No biggee. Now that DM has moved in- particularly in the week since DBs van has burned, there have been mysterious knocks at the door, my bed has moved with no one in it- in fact- the first time it did it- I was asleep on the love seat in the living room, etc, etc. My mother is freaked out. Any ideas??

SES/Honey Thank you for the help. I am going to pass them along to my team. We need six table names. I'm excited about the concept of feeling empowered as a mom. The study that I get to teach is from the book The Power of a Positive Mom. I already LOVE, LOVE the book. It's the kind you can keep and read and read and read again and find new meaning pertaining to whatever stage of life you are in. 3 Cats: So happy you survived the visit with your "Mother's Son" I know from experience how gut wrenching those ordeals can be. Honey: Congrats on getting an actual interview. How did it go? Sorry about your dental woes. I'm about to have my own in the late fall. Just saving up the cash to get it all done. Miz Bear: Achy legs can be the result of being poorly hydrated. Make sure you are getting enough water. Red: How exciting to be able to tell all of your family. Love the post on FB. I can't say it enough to first time to be mommies "Make sure to spend plenty of just you time, just DH and you time and REST!" AND ME... I have this crazy idea to take the family to Disneyland for my soon to be five year old little girls birthday on July 18. It will be a whirlwind. Two day park-hopper at Disney and a stay in an economy hotel with very, very limited spending money. The hotel and Disney is averaging right around $1,700 without me researching anything cheaper yet. To come close to making this happen I only have $200 of spending money for groceries, gas and any other expenses between now and next pay day on 7/6. I'm super motivated now and if it doesn't work out then hey we will have money in savings. It's been forever since we have been and the baby doesn't even remember going because she was well a baby who slept the whole time! My only hesitation is we NEED to get my oldest DD braces and I have $350 medical bill. BLAH-responsibility stinks. Rant: My mom sent me a friend request on facebook. While I know I don't want to be friends I find it super hard to block her. My brother is friends with her and her account isn't blocked and I stalked her one night....not good for my emotional fragile self. I don't want to give up on hope but she hasn't changed AT ALL. Maybe this is an intervention to keep me off of facebook. I only really go on to post to my blog account www.facebook.com/anotherhousewife (shameless link if you want to like my page) Anyway, that's really all the drama in my life. That and trying to squeeze in physical therapy with a DH who works during their hours of operation and no sitter. Hope everyone is doing well. Anyone watching the Olympic Trials? ~Happy No Spending~

Azmom- I'm watching the olympic trials. I have the DVR set up to record so I can watch them in about half the time. ;D Did you watch the track and field trials? For the men's 100m, for the victory lap the 1st and 3rd place finishers took their toddler sons on the lap. The 2 boys gave each other high fives and it was almost like yeah this will be us in 20 yrs.

I'm back from vacation. Minneapolis was nice, but it rained most nights we were there, luckily the tent didn't leak. DH & I did spend one night laying awake listening to the storm wondering if we should wake up mini-D and go to a hotel, but decided that if he woke up we'd go and of course he slept through the whole thing. We did lots of cool things, for those in the area the Bakken Museum and Mill City Museum were some of our favorites. With the rain we didn't end up cooking at the campsite much only 2 nights, I was hoping for 4 at least.
Azmom- Good luck on the PT.
Honey- I have my mom looking for handkerchiefs now. My grandma would not like the idea, so I have to come up with a creative way of getting them from her.
Start- Wow no AC. I would melt.

Today we are going to the Library. I am so happy my kids love the library. I am currently reading the Glass Castle...anyone? I have NO need to go to the grocery store until Friday and by then I hope to have a plan for the next four days of food. Hoping to pull of a NSD today. There is no reason, except self sabotage, that would prevent me from getting one.
Mutytleyn: YES, I saw the two little boys. So cute! I have been a crying mess. The commercials that say behind every athlete is a loving mom...or something like that, gets me every time! I LOVE the Olympics.
Dakota: Thanks. I haven't been on a run in almost four weeks and my legs are tight and cruddy still. My insurance only covers 12 sessions and I have only been 4 times so I hope to have this resolved soon.

muttley - sorry you're still feeling miserable. the heat doesn't help. And I still don't know what I'm going to want to eat for lunch - that's still an iffy time for me. Hugs.
azmom - sorry you're having mom stress. You can just "pocket veto" and ignore it. That's what Blue does for people he doesn't want to friend who friend him. He feels bad hitting "reject" or whatever the option is.
Had an ultrasound yesterday, all is still well! Updated the blog if anyone wants more info.

Rocky Mtn Saver: 10/30 NSD, 6/30 CSD (<$5). Well, I was right about being too busy this week to spend any money. My NSD goal is reached, so I just need some CSD's to finish things out. So my goal is nothing but CSD's until the end of the month on Saturday. Bring it on! ;D

okie dokie, the rest of this month is going to be a bit chaotic. My parents just left for a car tour leaving me to watch their two dogs along with my three.
count 'em 5 dogs, 1 human. I am grossly outnumbered.
thankfully they're mostly low maintenance but going out for errands is going to be a chore! Mostly because I'll need to bring a few along with me or cage them while I'm gone.
In other news I am determined to work on the ceiling and get it painted asap so that I can finally move back into my bedroom. Thus a trip to Home Depot is in order, maybe tonight, so I can get the supplies and get moving.
My dad did get the rest of the slats off my bench swing so that I can sand and spray paint it but only if it's not windy this weekend. One more coat of stain for the bench slats and those will be ready as well.
It's so exciting to see the projects almost done!

mizbear: potasium helps, I usually eat more bananas when I get that problem or take a supplement.
dakota: Glad you had a good time, too bad it rained I don't think we had much here. Funny how different the weather can be 45 miles apart.
My DSIS took DS#1 today and tonight. She also took him (with my permission) to get his hair trimmed and part of it colored, so the bottom half of his hair is red. He is wearing it long and it doesn't seem to bother him if people think he is a girl. I figure it is his hair, as long as he takes care of it I don't care. Tomorrow he turns 9, where did the time go?
Had a great grocery shopping trip. I spent $55 and got 5 12 packs of Pepsi and 3 bags of groceries. (I won't bore you with the details but I saved over $100!) The van was hot without air conditioning but I survived! AC is broken right now although I did try to get it fixed.

Update: 7 NSD, 5 CSD
I am hoping that tomorrow afternoon can be my errands day and the last spend day of the month. Speaking of end of the month what's our July thread name? Every year we have to figure out 3 J names, it's just not fair lol
How about: enJoying July Controlled Spend Joyful July Controlled Spend Jubilee July Controlled Spend Just Do It July Moxie Mid Year (July) Controlled Spend Halfway Hootennny (July) Controlled Spend
cast your votes, oh wise no spenders!
Muttelyn- sorry the heat is getting to you this summer! Alas, I have no "surviving a pregnancy" tips so just internet hugs to you
red- when do you find out if babies are boys, girls or one of each? Can we vote all proper like?
mk- how is momcat doing? haven't heard an update from her in awhile and I was just looking at my Vegas pictures awhile ago.
azmom- my policy on FB is to block anyone who would use details I post to make me miserable in real life. it's why my brother is still in friend purgatory. If they're not a close enough friend to call and ask you why then accept they're probably going to complain and gossip behind your back anyway you're just not giving them ammunition. Oh, and why not plan the Disney trip for Christmas or your DD's next bday if money is tight? If things get stressful you want it to be a good memory of a planned holiday, not a regret.
Honey - read your post and have some thoughts for you. I'll gather them up and post today or tomorrow. Until then, hugs!
Website jazz- yesterday was a big emotional hurdle for me as the boys (blue eyes and his brother whom I've adopted. formally.) convinced me to put up the media box on the front of my website featuring some of the places I've been published. MAJOR stress. I can't even describe why but if blue had not insisted and helped me overcome the fear it wouldn't be done but ta da! it's done. if you know the URL then you can see it today all pretty and shiny...
Okie dokie, my parents dropped off their 2 dogs and took off in their 1931 Model A yesterday for a tour so while they're exploring and staying in an antique hotel, I have a total of 5 dogs here that need to be fed, watered, played with, walked, groomed and entertained. Oi vey.

Update: 4 NSDs and 5 CSDs -- still have no idea how today will play out. MK -- Please wish DS#1 a Happy Birthday from me. I can't believe that a year has gone by since we celebrated his birthday in the Black Hills. Honey --- from all of us! AZ Mom -- Thought of you yesterday -- I visited the WWII museum here in town and the gift shop had Rosie T-shirts on sale as well as other items. It has been several years since my last visit and the progress made has been extensive and it is still growing. I highly recommend it for anyone who might be visiting the city. There is no way that I will reach my goal this month. I really over estimated my abilities in the NS areas -- forgetting that the two weeks that I was out of town would all be spend days. A girl has to eat -- it is the desserts that made them spend days. I am ok with it as I had so many things on tap this month. I do so much better when school is in session because I am too exhausted to do much of anything.
