ses: thanks for the laugh at the antics of Onyx. I too was "punished" because I did not clean out the litter pan yesterday. Tinker peed on my bed. She only does that when I don't clean the litter pan every day. And she laid in my arm last night after I went to bed and turned out the lights. I can't punish her because it was my fault. update: 12/30 NSD, 2/30 CSD, 12/30 NEO, 0 in savings. I do have 2 more paychecks this month bur they are cutting hours again at work. I had 18 hours this week and I will probably have 12 hours next week. There is one more week but I don't know how many hours I will get that week, hopefully 24. That is what I need to make all my bills and put something in savings.

SES - had to laugh at Onyx's escapades.
miz - glad no MRSA!
azmom - babies are doing well, both around 6oz. They're getting so big! And no signs of pre-term labor for me, which is great news. I'm due Novemebr 26th, but they will likely come 2-4 weeks early as they are twins.
I'm excited to tell my family this weekend on Father's Day. I'm ready for it to not be secret anymore!!

I haven't spent a dime today, nor have I left my house I do have to take my son to football camp later but I plan on staying strong! Little Story: My BIL's kids (two girls) have so many toys and playthings they rival any big box chain toy store x 2. This is just a fact. They have EVERY toy imaginable. Our kids have very little if any toys. My youngest daughter has a few dolls and barbies that were never played with before hand me downs from my oldest daughters. It's rare we buy our kids any toys. They make up plays, skits, write, color, paint, play with each other, go outside (when its not 1,000 degrees out), read. My older kids are content with this set up and have accepted it as life. They only get one gift for their birthday and three for Christmas and that's it. Anyhow, our baby girl who will be five seems to care more about "things". She loves to get gifts and dress up and shop. None of which was taught it's just who she is. She will say things like, Why does B get to have such and such and I don't. BUT TODAY... she asked if B can come play at our house because there is nothing to play with at B's house (you know the Toy Store House). I asked if she thought there were more things to play with at our house and she said yeah. There is so much more to do at our house. That made my heart happy. I try not to compare what we have to others, especially when it is our choice NOT to buy our kids things. I'm glad to know that they are content with what they have.

Azmom- that is so cool that your dd thinks there is more to do at your house. I love it. I think you were the one who asked, I am due new years eve! Crazy!
Ses- crazy cats. It sounds like a 2 year old.
Mizbear - glad your mom's infection is gone.
Vacation is going well. I think my parents paid for the float trip - I'm not exactly sure. I had to go sign something and we mentioned something about paying and my dad said all paid. The float trip went well. We let Ben do the whole thing. Our cabin was about a quarter of the way through and we had talked about him and my mom staying at the cabin, but he was doing so good we decided he could continue and he rocked it. The cabin is awesome. The food has been great. Tonight we sent ds and his youngest cousin to bed early after being on the water all day. I've was feeling pretty good, but tonight I feeling pretty nauseous. Anyway, good times. ;D have a good weekend all.

Muttleyn: New Years Eve, just in time for that tax deduction Update on My Legs: So I had x-rays taken on Wed and they called me today. The lady said, "Good news you don't a stress fracture or any signs of any type of stress on your legs just a benign tumor on your right leg!" She said it is not in any area of the leg I showed the doctor I was in pain. I am pretty sure it is in my calf muscle. The doctor rubbed over it at my exam and said 'There is a knot right there." I knew about the knot because I have been trying to rub it out with my rolling stick for weeks. So i'm guessing that is where it was at. She couldn't tell me anything else and said the doctor is out today will be back in on Monday and will call and let me know if I should get an MRI but if it is not bothering me nothing needs to be done. Obviously something is bothering me because I hurt when I run. So not sure now what the game plan is. I just want to run again.

muttley - glad you are having a great time and that Ben is enjoying himself!
mizbear - great news!
azmom - kinda scary but glad it's benign! And good luck figuring out a game plan. You obviously need to be able to run so don't let them tell you not to do anything!
So excited for tomorrow and telling my family about the twins!

3cats- After so long you may have to ask a mod or admin to delete a post- usually you just click on delete though.
Well, we will see if my father can work his wonders on DB today. I got a phone call just after 7am. My DBs van burned with all of his possessions in it. he was lucky he wasn't in it. All because he didn't get things fixed.

okay I think I was better off NOT knowing how hot it is here. I knew 90s but it's actually closer to 104 now, 108 at the peak today. By 7pm it'll cool down to a balmy 101.
Luckily I'm inside all day just sitting in front of the fan working on a project. Also, I feel like crap so no energy to do anything.
I did take a shower to cool off and dragged the little dog in for a quick bath. He didn't like it but is much cooler now.

Rocky Mtn Saver: 5/30 NSD, 4/30 CSD (<$5). The weekend was relatively quiet, although I spent some $ on unnecessary items. My fire evacuee is still staying with me, so we had a girls' movie night at my house and I bought some snacks. Her evacuation order was lifted Saturday evening and then they were re-evacuated on Sunday afternoon when the winds shifted. Sigh...

start - you are insane for not putting on the AC! I could not survive. I get nauseous when it goes over 80 in our house so we use the AC a lot. Power to you!
mizbear - good luck with DB.
I had a spendy weekend. We went to dinner twice and movies twice. I figure we probably won't go at ALL next year (except for Oscar Best Picture Showcase Day) so I'm okay doing more fun stuff with friends right now before babies. Put our pregnancy/twins news on FB and got great reactions. Feeling so loved lol. also got great reactions from my family yesterday. My aunt shrieked for like five minutes she was so excited for twins. It was a great day. Except for the traffic on the way home...

Well red, I'm equal parts stubborn and stupid lol. It was icky hot on Sunday too but I managed to move a little furniture around and get some things cleaned. So so much to do today I can't even take time to list it out. I'm heading out for a client meeting soon and really looking forward to meeting the client for the first time although we've worked via phone for a few months.
Also submitted another invoice which is big and hoping to get my check asap!
Next up: finding a way to keep my plants from dying while I'm out!

startsmart: my friend uses watering spikes for her indoor plants, and she has good success with them. They're like this: www.gardeners.com/Watering-Spikes/Watering_VacationWatering,38-619RS,default,cp.html For outdoor plants, can you have a neighbor stop by and run the hose on them once or twice a week?

Rocky Mtn Saver: 6/30 NSD, 4/30 CSD (<$5). Got myself an NSD yesterday and hopefully will again tomorrow. I have to pick up some food items today, but that's expected. I cooked up some chicken & dumplings in the crockpot on Sunday and froze it all in individual-size containers for midweek work lunches. It was a new recipe, but I tried one yesterday and it was yummy!! I'm trying to bring my lunch to work more often, as I still don't do that as much as I should.

I have one NSD since I last seriously posted but I am okay with that because my only spend days come from the grocery store. I have my first physical Therapy session tomorrow. Good thoughts and prayers would be appreciated. This is my first plan of action to get back running. If the pain continues of gets worse after PT then I'll get an MRI and second course of treatment plan for the tumor. IDEAS/HELP: I don't know if I said this but I did decide to continue on with my MOMs group. I am excited about it because I will get to teach every other week. Anyway, this year we are using Rosie The Riveter as our theme/image to go along with the verse Deuteronomy 6:5-7. We normally name each table something to go along with our theme/verse but I am drawing blanks and thought you all might come up with something clever. We have used the fruits of the spirit in the past and just used different fruit to name the tables like banana, apple etc. (clever, I know). Last year we used the F.R.O.G. acronym and used words like hoppin, ,leapin, etc (again, cheesy I know) so this year we are hoping to redeem ourselves but my mind is blank. Anyhow, any thoughts or suggestions would be great. Rocky: Great job with your lunch. I have a friend who just had surgery and the last three nights I have just been doubling up our meals and freezing the other to stock up her freezer for her and I then I thought "why in the world don't I do this for MY family" It really didn't require extra work because I was already making the meal-I just made extra....Yea, I'm a little slow on the uptake

I'm like you, not too quick to pick up on the fact that it's really super-easy to put extra portions in the freezer. Duh! I've been doing it lately even with things like spaghetti or meatloaf. Just add a little more to the pot and toss one serving into a Tupperware bowl when I'm serving the meal. Quick freeze and I'm good to go. It's also great for me because I don't get home from work until 6:30 or 7:00 and sometimes I'm just too famished to take the time to cook something. Voila, I've got something in the freezer. It's like magic! Tasty, tasty magic.

ROCKY: I have tried freezer cooking before but of course being the over achiever that I am I did too much too soon and thought it was too much work. Making an "extra" seems to work best for me. I also make a big batch of breakfast burritos and freeze them. They are super life savers. All of my kids will be in school next year so I am hoping to do more freezer meals and crock pot ready meals. I have seen people who do once a month cooking! That just doesn't work when the kids start sports because sometimes I only have a half hour to make AND feed them before we are out the door and it normally takes that long to bake a freezer meal (at least).

I'll definitely be freezer cooking, and doing a lot of prep for crockpot meals. There's a website out there that has great recipes, I think someone on here turned me on to it. I've yet to try doing it, but I figure a freezer full of meals that are good to go or easy to prepare come babies will be a good thing.
Spent $30 at the grocery store and was really pleased with the amount of stuff I got for that price. Of course I got home and Blue goes, "Can we get pizza instead?" So I made him pay for it out of his fun money. He'll make quesadillas tonight instead. Silly man.
It's so hot today. Going to feel like 105. I hate the city in summer (I like many aspects, but not the sticky heat of it), so being preggo is just going to make it more fun. Going in the pool the second I get home.
azmom - good luck at PT!!! I hope it is effective for you!

AZmom-- how many table names do you need? You could go with the words used to describe Rosie---loyal, efficient, patriotic, pretty, strong, worker. Or ideas that describe the women and ideas of the era--contributor, war effort, war bonds, rationing, victory...
My supervisor was very gracious about replacing my paycheck. Actually she laughed for a long time and thanked me for providing such a funny break from working on the year-end budget.

HELLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO .... yes, I know - I went MIA. Largely because of a dental issue, detailed below. It is painfully hot here today - with humidity the heat index was at 100 degrees. And it is supposed to be hotter tomorrow!!!! Someone just kill me now.
The cats are all downstairs which is the coolest level of the townhouse. I am dreading having to go upstairs to my bedroom.
muttley - Glad to hear there was only one baby, I am sure you are relieved.
sheila - I sent you a response to your message.
dakota - If you want to talk about some specifics of making a hankie quilt let me know. I have a couple of small books I can copy for you if you tell me what sort of quilt you are considering. I think you also have my phone number - feel free to use it or my e-mail address.
red ruby - I am sure it is not truly funny but the idea of a toddler being scared of a toilet is not that uncommon.
mizbear - I also think you need to institute some Tough Love with your mother, let me know if you want me to script out something you can say to her. And regarding your brother - I really have no idea what to say.
SES - OH NO on the paycheck!!! I am sorry to say I was laughing reading your post, because it has happened to me in the past. Glad they were able to replace the check for you.
azmom - Some names that work with Rosie the Riveter: Rivet, Bandana, Coveralls, Assembly, Effort, Icon, Strength, Resourcefulness, Patriotic, Feminism, Power, Tireless, Historic, Victory,
Quilts - Thank you for all the nice comments! It is nice to hear from people other than my parents, who I feel HAVE to like the things I make.
And on a down note - neither of my last two quilts were accepted into the exhibits I submitted them to.
Dental Woes - One reason I have been MIA has to do with my mouth. Why is it that dental pain always seems to be the worst kind? I was just one with my sofa over the first weekend - and when it was 6 days after and I STILL could not open my mouth wide enough to eat a PB&J without massive pain...and even trying to put my makeup on hurt when I touched that side of my face ... I was back at the doctor. Among other things they think I got an infection, had massive bruising visible on the inside of my cheek, and a partially dry socket. Good news is that things have finally turned the corner.
Printer - So a couple of Christmas' ago my father bought me an all in one printer/scanner/fax/copier. However it "died" a few weeks ago. When I called the manufacturer's number to ask about getting it fixed I was offered either free repair OR a new replacement - for FREE. Gee ... that was a no-brainer!!! So yesterday it arrived - all black and shiny and new. I got it set up and configured today. No more trips to Office Max to print off three pieces of paper.
Job Search - So I finally had a real interview on Monday. By that I mean AT a real company with a REAL person who can actually make a hiring decision, and not just talking to a head hunter on the phone where I never hear back about meeting a real employer. So fingers crossed on this one .... It is only 8 miles from my house which would be great

Okay - I had to share this Weird Cat moment... last week I was sitting outside on my back porch - and for a long period of time the chairs are not that comfortable so I had put a throw pillow on one of the seats. Then when I came in that night I tossed the pillow onto the kitchen table. Well, the next morning I came downstairs and what do I find?? My cat Jericho sleeping on the pillow. I told him to get down and off the table and he ignored me .. finally he looked up, yawned and I swear this is the look he gave me .... " Mom, would you chill out - I am not ON the table .. I am on the PILLOW!!!"OY

honey: Cats always find the best spot! Rocky Mtn Saver: 7/30 NSD, 4/30 CSD (<$5). One NSD yesterday (woo!) and maybe another one today. It could go either way, spend or no-spend. But I'm giving it the old college try. ;D I brought lunch to work again, so things look good so far. My fire evacuee should be able to go home today. The problem she is having is that you have to be able to prove that you are a resident there because there is still a Natl Guard roadblock. She is new to town, doesn't get mail at her address, and didn't evacuate with a copy of her lease. Sooooo the moral of the story is that in your emergency supplies bag, you should make sure to include something showing you live where you live!

ROFL! I love the cat stories here! Honey- I think she got it when I told her she had to move out when she gets her inheritance instead of waiting for the other apartment.

prayers and good wishes needed for Sunday because I am going to see my Mother's son for the first time since her death. I can't stand to be in the same room with him.
