Dakota- Regarding Open Houses- Some Realtors just use them as a way to sell themselves to potential clients and drum up more business. But some Realtors use them successfully for the homeowner. I know the Realtors here do monthly Realtor day in which they will have Realtor only showings at half a dozen or so houses. Great way to market your house to other Realtors that my have interest clients. When we were looking a couple of years ago our Realtor mentioned several properties that he had been through on the Realtor only days and suggested we look at them. The house we bought was one such house, plus the day we turned in our offer they had had a regular open house and the next day someone called and wanted to start a bidding war with us but the owners had already officially accepted our offer. Around here open houses are pretty popular and usually pretty successful.

CSD today - I had to go back to the post office because the postage I bought last night did not print. Sigh. Refund and rebuy. Thankfully I saved $5 because it was able to go Media Mail so I bought a coffee didn't get ahead but I did get coffee so that's a win. Then home to work work work - lots of good calls today and got a lot accomplished. back to back calls with blue and his brother and then with my assistants. Next up I need to actually leave the office and eat some dinner. I'm also sadly excited to have found a segment on the planet earth DVDs I'd never seen before! I love those, it's like traveling for free.

Woohoo got another proofreading job. Not a heck of a lot of money, but more experience and a little more money to throw at a credit card! Plus it's a reprint so I'm expecting a fairly clean read, aka not too time-consuming. Which is good, because it's due Wednesday and I'm busy all weekend.
Okay, back to work...

Just got home with pharmaceuticals in hand. I had a wisdom tooth and another molar pulled this morning. NOT looking forward to the Novocaine wearing off. But thank goodness for prescription medications.
Have to keep the gauze in for another hour. Between that and not being able to feel my face or lips I think I sound like a cross between The Godfather and someone who has had a stroke.

lol red - cute nerdy dress Actually the co-founder of modcloth is in my closed networking group. No I'm not buying you the dress either lol I was actually browsing today for partnerships and came up with an impressive list of colleagues there that I'll be reaching out to promote me. This week alone I had 2 guest posts and a ton of traction on my website and social media traffic. Today will be a planned spend. I'm dropping off boxes for sbcalimom and then picking up apples, jicama, almonds and such at the co-op. I'm also meeting a friend for lunch!

I may not be around much this month- nothing anyone here has done- we may have a sale for DGMs home; DM has ANOTHER MRSA infection, and I have to another female surgery atthe beginning of July- therefore- I have to have everything prepped by then.
Oy vey.
Hope everyone here is having much better luck.

Cute dress Red, but nope, not buying it for you. Honey - Ouch. I hope you get some relief. mizbear - Sending thoughts and prayers your way. Yesterday was a spend - I have a UTI and had to pick up my prescription and then picked up some chewable prenatals because I can't seem to swallow pills (which means taking my antibiotics is a challenge). Today was a spend. We celebrated the bonus by going out to lunch and splurging just a bit by buying queso dip and sodas. Tonight is Relay for LIfe and we are going to go for just a bit and have supper there.

red- lol no. all discounts are members only today was a spend but I feel good about it. Dropped off boxes, picked up food at the co-op, got coffee, and found some great deals at Salvation Army. The haul included a new gym bag for $2 (one I've been using is too small), a large silver picture frame with glass for $7.50, TWO nightstands to be painted for $25 and a large pot for beans or baking that matches my mom's set (passed down from grandma) for $3. I did pass up an open shelf that might be perfect for my bathroom remodel. We're taking out the cabinet so I'll want something for towels and toothbrushes. It was only $20 so I might go back and buy it next week if it's still available. So far though my "to paint" list includes about 60 feet of baseboards, ceilings in 3 rooms and a hallway, a bookshelf, a headboard, a bench, two nightstands and two chairs. Basically enough projects for another 6 months!

Blue moved my "office" to the bedroom today. So weird to see my old office half empty. But progress is being made! I also have my new, smaller filing cabinet. Not looking forward to going through everything and paring it down to two drawers, but it must be done. I think a box of older documents will end up in the attic.
Do you guys keep manuals for things like toasters and vacuums? I think I have a drawer full...

Rocky Mtn Saver: 3/30 NSD, 2/30 CSD (<$5). Well, no new CSD/NSD's to report. I did get the tires I needed on Friday and went out with friends both Saturday and Sunday. But I ended up spending only 1/2 the cash I brought with me yesterday to the Ren Faire. It was a big group and I think everyone had a thoroughly good time. Some of the wives made gorgeous new dresses to wear and even managed to get their hubbys in costume. ;D The mid-week should be pretty cheap, since I'm prett low-key until next weekend. So time to and make up some time on my NSD's! Happy Monday, y'all!

Blue :I keep the manuals because I can never remember how to reset the clock on the microwave after the electricity goes out. Dumb stuff that you don't do every dayI sometimes forget how to do it. I also tape the cost of appliance on the back of the appliance. I find it interesting to see how much the price of something has increased since the last time I bought it.
Honey: Feel better
MizBear:Thinkin of you
My goal is to watch my spending and tighten the belt. I am traveling a lot 7 no spend days for a start.

Greetings all! This weekend was definitely spend days! Today I'm in San Francisco and Berkeley meeting with colleagues - lots of good collaboration and meetings going on. Plus shopping! Not much of course, less than $20 at Old Navy for some summer clothes and I picked up a gift. I meet with another entrepreneur here in another hour so I'm just chilling at Starbucks with a lemonade, watching the cable cars go by and the homeless men with sagging pants sit outside the window. Eww.
Anywho, just popping in to say hi and hope y'all are having a fabulous Monday!

Rocky Mtn Saver: 3/30 NSD, 3/30 CSD (<$5). Had a CSD yesterday and probably again today. The smoke here in No. Colorado from the High Park Fire is getting pretty bad today, and I'm now housing an acquaintance who was evacuated. Maybe I can finagle a day off work for it! ;D

Stay safe Rocky Mt. How far away are you from the fire? update: 10/30 NSD, 10/30 NEO.Thanks! I'm in the smoky area, but not in any danger of the actual fire. I have a couple of friends who were evacuated over the weekend, but both homes are still there as of last night. I hope the fire crews start making some headway on this thing today! It's at 43,000 acres this morning. I've never seen a fire grow so much so fast!

I am considering telling my DM that when she gets her inheritance money that she will have to get on the waiting list for her own apartment. She refuses to stay on a budget and is costing me money. I don't know what else to do.

I'm here and staying on track, otherwise just boring day to day stuff. Reading along just nothing much to contribute.

Rocky Mtn Saver: 3/30 NSD, 4/30 CSD (<$5). I'm going for a NSD today, as I usually do on Wednesdays. It's still pretty darn smokey around here, which is annoying. But I heard they are starting to make some headway containing the fire, so that's great news! A few evacuated people got to go home yesterday. I know of one lady at work who lost her home.

Appreciate any positive vibes today. I have my first check for pre-term labor and hoping all signs point to babies staying put for a long time. I so do not want to be on bed rest...

Yesterday was just an all around fabulous day with one tiny glitch.
I went into San Francisco and met a colleague at his office in the Mission District. I did NOT have any bad encounters with the homeless which is a minor miracle. It also helps that I know how to walk looking very tough and confident.
We had an amazing meeting, so much good stuff. He's also connecting me with a few great opportunities to guest blog with someone who has 30,000 plus on her list.
Ended up having dinner with my mom before driving home with 2 of my dogs. Mom is keeping the third pup around for a few weeks to get her dogs more exercise.
THEN I found out my client from South America is coming to California and wants to finish out our coaching hours, plus add more, in person next week! Very good news to meet a virtual client in person and get a testimonial.
Of course all of that good stuff was slightly mitigated by me being an idiot and touching my eye when I had chili powder on my finger. The eye was swollen nearly shut this morning and through hot steam, ice and tea bags in rotation, it's almost back to normal.
At least life is never boring!

Hey all sorry I've fallen off the thread. I'm going on vacation next week and my boss has decided that all kinds of little things just have to be done before I leave. So I've been coming in early to get things done and when I get home am working on packing for the trip. Anyway hope everyone is doing okay and I'll talk to you all when I get back.

I have really been trying to get on here and keep up with you all but it doesn't make it so easy when I keep freaking spending money! I'm having problems planning. It's not that I don't know how, I mean I conquered this habit once before it's so hard now not "having" to rack up NSD to make sure we are able to pay things like the electricity and rent. I mean we aren't making THAT much more money but just enough to have some wiggle room. You know were I start to have the dang mindset that $5 isn't a big deal and then $200 worth of $5 later I am so furious with myself. I NEED accountability. Not it's okay it happens. I need a get yourself together woman. There are no excuses. I was at the mall the other day and I actually called to tell my husband "I miss the days when we didn't know better and lived on cc" It was a tongue and cheek comment because I was looking at shoes and purses on clearance. Don't worry I didn't buy anything AND we still have not used a cc in over three years. Perhaps these stupid lapse in mental thinking is why. Anyhow, I felt like I needed to confess that to those who have helped get it together, figure out our spending, make a plan of action and actually execute it. So I need to go back to basics and just start tracking my spending again because getting NSD are too difficult at this point. I need shock therapy and that starts with the black and white truth. As of today I will track everything and hopefully be more accountable here on these boards. RED: I hope all goes well with your test. Keep us update. When is your due date? Muttlyn and Gin: What are your due dates? So many babies, crazy! I remember when I was the young family, now I am "Mentor Mom" Oh- and I wrote about being injured again on my blog anotherhousewife.com It sucks and I am trying to stay positive about it but it has been hard. I did break down and go to the doctor well really because it was time for my yearly exam but even so I went. I am waiting on x-ray results of my legs but I was told just a few minutes ago that my blood work show my Vitamin D is low. BLAH! So I need to take a supplement and get it checked in three months AND I feel like a super dweeb because I have been taking calcium supplements thinking it was vitamin D! So far today I have spent money at the movies and at taco bell. I WILL make dinner here at the house...I WILL, I Will, I will Sorry for barging in with my rant filled post. ~Happy No Spending~

Grrrrr!!!!!!!! I have to vent. Tuesday Onyx brought me a dead half-eaten bird. I carefully picked it up, wrapped it up and stashed it in the trash. I think she found where I put the bird. She was ticked off with me and ignoring me. I can deal with that. Then she knocked the paycheck I had received off the table where I put it in plain sight so I would deposit it in the bank today. I picked up the mail and bank stuff and realized the check was missing. I checked all over the table--no check. Then I checked the floor and found it. After she knocked it off the table she peed AND p00ped on it. I wouldn't pick it up let alone deposit it. So after everything was cleaned up I realized it is too late to call my supervisor and explain this fiasco. Tomorrow will be a very embarrassing morning.
Guess who just crawled up in my lap to curl up and snuggle and take a nap!!!! As if nothing ever happened. I guess I have been punished enough.
