I wish her a loving time with family and a peaceful passing. I'm glad that hospice is now with her at least she will not be in pain.

I hope her family will decorate the house for her, so she can enjoy the Christmas holiday.
I'm glad they're giving her morphine for the pain. When you need it, morphine really is a gift from God.

December 13: Update
There is not much to update today. Patty is sleeping more and more during our visits.
Her Hospice Nurse visited yesterday, she did not change Patty's medications as her pain is under control again. The new medications are available to us to use when her pain increases next though.
Patty's son Nate was able to spend some time alone with her today in between other family members visiting, which was really nice for him.
The Doctor that oversees Patty's case through Hospice will be visiting Monday, we look forward to meeting with him as Patty is noticeably declining each day.
Thank you for such kind comments of support for Patty and us, her family. Patty is no longer able to read the comments and is not awake long enough to have them read to her, but please know we cherish each word and appreciate the support!

I'm so sad she didn't make it to enjoy one more Christmas with her family. RIP you beautiful, brave soul. You were always so full of grace during this horrible struggle and I'm so sorry you lost your battle to this disgusting disease. Many prayers for you and your loved ones, Patty. Poor Rose - losing two of her girls in such a short time. It's times like these I have to have faith that her sister and other loved ones that have passed will be there with their arms out to embrace her and comfort her. |

So horrible. She fought hard against this cancer. And Moon, you're right, she was a down to earth, tell it like it is kind of person. I always enjoyed that.

What a sad thing to hear of, yet a joy to know the pain is done and she has wonderful company as she goes on her next adventure. All who loved her in this life will miss her, but those who awaited her can now take her spirit and soul, pain-free, and show her what is theirs for all of eternity. |
