I checked Patty's Caring Bridge page today. There was a note left yesterday. Patty has just finished her second treatment in the current round of chemo. She's experiencing increased pain and nausea, but has one more treatment scheduled for next week before she gets a rest week (week without a treatment). Please, keep her in your thoughts and prayers. She's having a rough go of it.

Patty was unable to receive her chemo last Thursday due to a low white blood cell count. She's to see the doctor again on the 18th for another evaluation, at which time it will be decided whether she can continue treatment, or not. Her pain medications have been increased and seem to be working to keep her pain in check and manageable. It's crunch time for Patty, folks, so please keep up the strengthening thoughts and prayers.

Patty received her chemo after her doctor visit on Thursday. Her white cell count was still low and she is anemic. The doctor plans to use medical treatments to raise those counts, as needed, for future treatments. The tumor markers were still high, but lower than they had been. She'll see the doctor in five weeks after three weeks of chemo and a two week rest - if things go as planned. Hang in there, Patty, and good luck!

Patty cancelled her appointment with her oncologist that was to have taken place this last Thursday. The family seems unsure why she did this, but said there have been "ups and downs" the past couple of weeks. She's rescheduled to see her oncologist on Tuesday. This whole thing has been very grueling for Patty, I'm sure, and it's not easy to keep one's spirits up when you're feeling terrible. Let's just keep that positive energy flowing towards her. Her need is great.
