I never stole or borrowed the car, but my brother did... a lot. Like before he even had a learner's permit. My mom would always bust him, and he could never figure out how (she sleeps like the dead, and he would replenish the gas back to its original level). Turns out she was setting the trip meter at a random point on her drive home and whenever it was 20-30 miles higher the next morning (or zeroed out), she knew something was up... Made me glad I never tried it

My mom is a ninja. I'm pretty sure it's because she was a partier in HS and knows ALL the tricks She would tell us all these hilarious stories from her teen years, always followed with "If you ever do that, I'll kill you!"

Can kids these days still get away with crap like we could? For example, I was arrested a few times for doing stupid shit as a teen, but all I ever got was a legal slap on the wrist. A petty misdemeanor conviction, a few hours of community service, and maybe having to sit through some behavioral counseling session. Do they still do that, or do they actually pursue higher charges now? It seems like cops in general are more hard nosed than they were when I was kid. Everything is so serious these days. Police responding to elementary schools for fist fights and whatnot.
Am I crazy, or have we gotten like hyper worried about normal childhood/teen stupidity?

A certain family member (not saying who to protect the guilty!) went joyriding with her friends in high school when they were all blackout drunk. My favorite part of the story? They turned off the headlights, figuring that if they couldn't see anything, no one would be able to see them.
Any five year old could have told them that doesn't even work in hide and seek!!

We were busted a few times by the cops but they never even took us to the station. One cop actually told us to get our drunken asses out of there before he DID take us to the station. I think it is much tougher now adays...then again, my husband WAS arrested back then so maybe the cops were just easier on the females in short skirts

I feel like these aren't even your best stories. Don't hold back, guys. I need to live vicariously through your teenage careers as miscreants.

Our society has criminalizes teen stupidity. If I were a teen today, I would have a criminal record.

Should I feel left out - I never got invited to my 10 yr reunion Probably does not help that I am friends with one person from my class on FB (out of 350 graduating). I don't know if they even know I still exist. Oh well...

Would anyone have had your mailing address? I only learned of my ten year reunion (I didn't go as I had just given birth and I looked fat and nasty!lol) because I ran into a former classmate that was on the committee...it was a total fluke or I would never have heard about it. That was before FB

Oh no, they honestly probably don't even remember me. I was the transfer student as a senior (and I HATED my parents for making me move my Sr year). So the school I went to from 4-11 does not invite me since I didn't technically graduate there (but those are the people I still talk with regularly - I could just crash the next reunion & no one would mind). I really don't feel left out at all and would probably prefer that any random people from there don't try to contact me!

Have you SEEN the ugly shoes they make the members of the military wear? Dude, I was rockin combat boots way before I joined the military. Getting them for free was like a plus.

Combat boots look good on women too. Exhibit A; That's actually like Exhibit H, but google likes giving me things I can't post here when I search for things like hot women in combat boots.

"Unless you go work for the man. Sealed record my ass, they can see everything. " Have you SEEN the ugly shoes they make the members of the military wear? I can wear sexy shoes but they can still see everything in my background. My ten year is this year. I doubt I go. My stepmom was uber strict so I didn't have a lot of friends. I rarely met up with anyone outside of school unless it was for a club activity. That stuff I was allowed to do. I lost touch with the few I did try to stay in touch with freshman year of college. I was one of the only ones in my group who went away to college. There's a facebook group for the ten year but meh I won't be making some huge effort to go. If I'm in town maybe I'll think about it.

I'm with Dark, I like combat boots. Does agreeing with Dark require a psych eval?

Unfortunately I agree with him a lot and even started adopting one of his pet expressions. So if single occurrences are cause for a psych eval, I should probably be hospitalized immediately...

Does agreeing with Dark require a psych eval? Not about shoes. I have fantastic taste in shoes. Men and women's.
