I can answer tthat because it was actually almost only one intelligent post in this thread after mine... Can you show me where your intelligent post was? I've been looking and I still can't find it? I think it was "I ran my car to the store" but I could be wrong. And I first read it as "I ran my car into the store". That would not surprise me had she done that.

ETA - it seems someone that owns her own store would be more open to store policies that are in place to prevent theft. You're assuming she actually has any real store policies in place? I've read a lot of her posts about her store and somehow I find that hard to believe.

Store security will not stop a person until they exit the store with unpaid merchandise. It's not steaing until you bypass all points of payment and leave the store's interior perimeter.
(My first job out of college - store detective. No stopping a thief until they actually became a thief. And that occurred when they were outside our store. Even when we saw the most obvious signs of concealment, like in a baby stroller or under their own clothes).

Seriously - why are you pre-bagging your merchandise. What purpose did that serve other than to cause grief for the cashier? I can answer tthat because it was actually almost only one intelligent post in this thread after mine...ok and Archie's though his was out of the concept. All he cares about is my profit like if when he is old he hopes to benefit from my retirement fund! Pffff! Wait...where was i? Oh! Why am I pre-bagging? I ran my CAR to a store. I ran into the store (carring about my customer waiting not wanting her to wait to long WITH a small child)... So I run to the shelf with formulas which is right accross from the registers line. All the zoo was running with those ennourmous shopping carts. I needed to save me time so I am grabbing a bag and wiggling my butt between those people...I did not need a huge shopping behemot for only 6 cans of freaking formula. Gosh, it's too bad they don't make some kind of small basket thingie that grocery stores can offer people to carry a few items in... Oh wait, they do!

So many places to go with this thread. Wal-Mart isn't one of them. I'm trying not to LOL at this whole thing. I'm picturing Latisha the big-butt-gangsta cashier knocking Loony senseless with baby formula cans, and the cops showing up and trying to figure out THAT WAS FUNNY UP UNTIL: why Loony is buying the stuff for someone else is the first place, since she likely looks a tad too old to have a rugrat at home. TOO OLD??? WHO IS TOO OLD? If I married Archie now I could have him a tons of rugrats!! It is just my LoonyBoy is bit too old... I though you are my friend Nansiesha!

::Also I am wondering if one person (or a gang) can hold a whole WAL-MART under some sort of...I don't know what? so they all are affraid of this working gang ang just do what gang tells them to do?:: Yes, many criminal kingpins capable of subjecting Wal-mart to follow their orders also like to work there as cashiers. I heard Al Capone ran his criminal empire while making sandwiches at a deli. The current leader of the Bloods in LA works the 5am-2pm shift at 7-11.

True, but I am assuming that you start shoving merchandise in a bag that it will draw some attention & you will be watched. I am also sure that you would carefully try to watch any transaction that takes place with someone that has pre-bagged their merchandise & that the cashier could be called out if anything fishy happens.

She said I wasn't funny, so whether that's considered intelligent or not, you gotta admit she nailed it.

totally true. People coming into the store with empty bags was always a big red flag for us. Of course, this was 30 years ago, before reusable, recycled bags. And you bring up another good point. The cashier has to empty the bag to make sure that merchandise being scanned and merchandise coming up on the register are the same thing, but that there are no other items concealed in the bag.

So, 30 years ago. Was that before the cameras & everything? Did you walk the store looking for suspicious activity? I like that your title was store detective, never heard that before.

CANS were on the table or transporter. Latisha could have taken them ONE by ONE and put into HER bags!!! Why was I supposed to do double job??? taking them not OUT of the bag but just of the bag lining on the transporter... Can you see the stupidity? It was ON the bag. Just jerk the bag from under the cans stupid!

There are plenty of stores around here that have a person stationed at the door checking receipts against merchandise before you actually leave the building.
