sbcalimom- Nice thing about waiting until August on the car is that you will start to see 2013s coming out and dealers trying to clear 2012s off the lot-
look for a deal.
I am just flying by. DM is ill and in danger of not starting chemo now. I am not having a good health week myself- although dealing with it so far.

Question - I need to offer some advice to a friend and I'm not sure which way to go on this one so I thought I'd come to you for some insight. Friend has $5000 that they can use to pay off some debt. They have about $9000 in debt on 2 CCs. Card #1 - 4400 at 18% Card #2 - 4600 at 23% Their question was should they pay off Card #2 completely since it is the higher rate and be done w/that card (and in the process gain a great utilization score for that card) or should they split the payment between the cards so as to have a better utilization on both cards even though they would still have a balance on both cards. My first instinct was to split the payment but then I started second guessing. Quick question. You mentioned their utilitzation ratio above. What's the most important goal to them? If it is simplicity and saving the most amount of money, they should pay card 2 off completely. If it's increasing their credit score, they may want to consider splitting the payment to reduce their debt-to-limit ratios. If it's having available credit, they may want to consider cutting up the cards first!

Rocky - Good questions/scenarios to present to them. Again I just want to help them make the most informed decision - I try not to "tell" anyone what to do (well except Lil' Smokey - I tell him what to do all the time); just give them the knowledge and see where they take it.

Hey ya'll! I know, I know, I've been gone for ever. I don't see me coming back on a regular basis just yet, but I thought I'd give you the cliff notes version of what's been going on for me the last couple of months. Overall I'm doing fine.
BFF and sorta-nephew moved home mid-March. I wasn't 100% happy with that, but I let her know I thought it was too soon and left it at that. They seem to be doing ok, but I still want to kill him about once a week. The guy I had started seeing in January proved to have too many issues to have a healthy relationship with. We broke up in April. I'm sad about it, because I could see the potential with him, but in the end preserving my own sanity and self-confidence had to take priority. On a happier note, I re-connected with a guy friend I hadn't seen in over a year. He broke up with his crazy ex-girlfriend (who was so jealous/possesive he wasn't allowed to stay friends with me after she and I had a falling out) and we ran into each other right as my relationship was ending. We're sort of casually dating, more of a comfortable friends who happen to make out occasionally thing. LOL.
Let's see... what else? Oh! A couple of friends and I starting talking about starting a clothing line, and it's actually going to happen. We've found wholesale suppliers for fabric, thread and elastic, I've made 8 sample garments, we've figured out what we need in the way of equipment and start up funds, we've got a blog and a facebook page, and we did a photo shoot over the weekend. I could go on and on about it, but I won't take up too much space with it. Our blog is flyingpigapparel.wordpress.com if you want to check us out. We should have photos up sometime this week.
Work is irritating the h3ll out of me. I've already used up all of my PTO for the year (that's supposed to last me through January 2013!). I did have one victory though, I managed to wring an acceptable score in one area of my review out of my boss. Tell me why we have a scale of 1-5 if 3 is perfect? If all goes the way we think it's going to with the clothing business, I should be away from the store by September. Keep your fingers crossed.

Update: 5 NS, 12 CS Managed a NS today! Thanks everyone for the thoughts, prayers and good juju. I will keep you updated after my appointment.
Today was a rough day. I took a pretty good fall down the stairs Saturday, while carrying one of my dogs in his crate. I was even more sore today than yesterday. I have to work a super long day tomorrow and am dreading it, but at least I have Wed off for doctor, then off Fri for a 4 day weekend.

Sorry I haven't been active this month. I have been dealing with a very sick pooch while in the middle of preparing for our big move.
The vet thinks he has an autoimmune disease called thrombocytopenia. He is optimistic that he will do ok and will be able to move with us. Please keep my Big Yellow Dog in your thoughts and prayers that he resonds well to treatment and can move with our family. He is a huge part of our life.
Hope all is well. I wish I could catch up more, but I am going to go take a hot bubble bath and then arrange some boxing in my basement. Packers and movers come this week.

Had a super productive day today since I had zero phone calls (which is unheard of!) and got so much done before 5pm. I am releasing a new video series and today I scripted, recorded, edited and uploaded all 5 videos in addition to having a full clothing change between each one lol. It was a ton of fun and I now have the emails ready to go so this can go out in a week as planned. Because I was so ahead of myself today I took Wilson (middle dog) to visit Grandpa and got a Sonic drink to celebrate. So aside from the 96 cents for the drink (cash) it was a NSD. Grandpa is doing well, all healed up after his trip to the ER in April. He just loves Wilson, petting him and holding him so it was nice to see them together. Mom & Dad are coming up for the weekend, I am so glad to have them nearby so I can get some of the to dos checked off my never ending list. Mom also wants to "borrow" Wilson for a few weeks to run a few pounds off her dog. We'll see. Muttelyn glad the tractor came home safely and yay for sharing good news with the family. Sorry I have no ideas on the nausea, did your doctor have any suggestions? red_wagon- sounds like a busy but productive weekend! Why did you choose hardwood for the nursery? Could you keep the carpet in while the kiddos are small so if you need to be in/out during nap time for one you reduce the chance of waking the other? I remember when M&P were infants and omg we did everything imaginable to not wake them when one was sleeping including not wearing perfume. rene- glad to see ya posting! how's the book on not killing customers in a retail environment going? .... and I forgot everything else because I have the memory span of a gnat (apparently) and blue eyes distracted me. Yeah, let's blame blue eyes Gotta run and get some work done so we can bill our client and get some moolah!

Dakota – Sorry everyone was sick over your birthday weekend. Fingers crossed you DON’T get sick. Muttley – The pictures of little man with the tractors were really cute. I cannot believe how big he is. Wasn’t he just born like six months ago? Redwagon – If this summer is really as hot as I think it will be you will be so glad the pool is up and running. Smokey – I agree with the others who said pay off the highest rate card in full. And Dakota made a good point about only having the one payment to make even if they can’t snowball the payment. Azmom – Such cute pictures on your blog. What a pretty family. Rocky – Good point also … they should probably not worry so much about their utilization ratio and just STOP using the cards so much. Mizbear – Sorry to hear about your mother. Reenee – Nice to see you and good news about the clothes! Keep us posted. Constanz – Sending you continued good thoughts. I understand about being in more pain the second day. I am still dealing with the soreness from bruising my tailbone at the airport. Angel – So sorry to hear about the dog’s illness. I hope he is feeling better soon. My Updates:
Smoking [/u]– So I have not had even one puff for seven days. And since May 1st I have only lit six cigarettes, and most of them I barely smoked half of them before deciding it tasted bad and I put it out. I have had a couple of evenings with some bad cravings – one night I ate an entire container of grape tomatoes, and several other evenings it was a half a bunch of grapes. I am trying to stay away from M&Ms and stick with fruit. Unemployment – Last week I got a letter from the State that my State funded benefits had “run out”, but if I was still out of work as of December 2012 I can re-apply. Talk about a panic attack. I called the UI office and finally got a hold of a real person this afternoon. Seems that while the State funds are gone I am eligible for the Federal program. So I have been granted an additional 20 weeks. There is the possibility of two additional extensions – but that is dependent upon federal funding. Dental – The same day I received the notice from the State I had a dentist appointment in the morning. And as gently as they tried to break the news to me – it was still unwelcome. First, it seems I need to have two teeth pulled – both back molars and one of them is a semi-erupted wisdom tooth. Second, my previous dentist did root canals on several teeth and told me there was enough left to accept a crown. However these two new dentists just looked at each other with a strange expression. Not only can I not get crowns on these teeth – the I will probably lose them also. Which really makes me angry because I shelled out a lot of money for each of these root canals – which now is completely wasted. One of the teeth has an exterior cavity which has been there since the root canal, and my new dentists said they would never have made me go through the root canal with the tooth in that condition. So once again I feel like my prior dentist was just out to do whatever made him the most money. As always I very much appreciate you letting me vent.

Haven't been on much againn this month. I believe i have 10 NSD's. I have yet to hear back about the temp job I interviewed for a couple weeks ago, but one on my references called and told me they got called about me,so fingers crossed I get it. It would be $5 more an hour than I made at my old job! Honey - we have been unemployed about the same amount of time because my regular unemployment ended last week. However, NYS didn't bother to notify me. My extension should be starting now, I'm pretty sure.

Honey - 6 months or 2 years... time flies. Doesn't it? DH ran into one of our neighbors that we never see (our house is a ways back from the road and their's is too, so even though they live less than a half mile a way, it is about a mile of driving to get from their house to ours). She was like "is this your boy?" and DH was like "Yep" and she was like "I knew you had a baby, but he's getting so big". Congrats on not smoking. That is awesome. Sorry to hear about the dentist and the unemployment. That would be really frustrating on the dentist.
renee - It is good to see you and good luck on the clothing line.
ss - I'm going to call the doctor today. We'll see what they'll do. It feels a little bit like admitting defeat, but I can't keep going like I am. Everyone in my life deserves more from me.

Muttley - one of my friends had horrible sickness/nausea with both her kids. With her second she actually went through 2 Rx of Phenergan. She said she would not have been able to make it to work everyday and take care of her DS w/o it.

Well, no prescription, but the nurse gave me some over the counter options to try. So, a trip to Walgreen's is in order today.

renee - very excited for your clothing line!! Wishing you all the luck in the world!! Doing any baby items? ;-)
Angel - hoping for the best for your dog!
Start - the carpet has seen some accidents from the cats from when we first got them, and I'd feel better with fresh and clean in there. We're going to put down a throw rug so it will be semi-carpeted.
Honey - tell me about it! I'm hoping we can start it up tonight if it stops raining and get the chemicals going to clean it. It's probably pretty grody after sitting for a year. And I am so so proud of you for not smoking! Sorry about the idiot dentist, but at least you are in good hands now, it seems.
muttley - I hope your OTC options work!

Everyone in my life deserves more from me. sorry if this seems weird or out of line for our board but I'd like to suggest a mindset shift Muttelyn... instead of thinking that others deserve more from you believe that you deserve a break and to not feel terrible for the next 7 months or weeks. It's no more admitting defeat than anyone else with a medical condition that gets help to feel better. I know it's hard to accept because you have responsibilities and work very hard and don't want to slack - ever - but get help for you.

Crap Startsmart, you are going to make me cry. You are right though. Speaking of crying, today is the 1 year anniversary of the Joplin tornado (for those who don't know, I live an hour from Joplin). The news was down in Joplin today and I couldn't watch it without crying especially when they talk about the 15 month old who was killed (DS was 16 months old when it happened). UGH. Anyway, it is a big day for them. Last night was their graduation and Obama was the keynote speaker and today is a huge rememberance ceramony.

Well if you follow me on facebook you know that my daughter's team are the Minor Softball Champions. It was one of THE best, ulcer causing, games ever. If you follow me on twitter you could tell just how crazy this game was. My daughter tied up the game with a two run home run!!! Yea, I stood up and yelled like crazy. She had this smile plastered across her face the entire night. Her team cleared the dug out to celebrate her, patting her on her helmet and on the back and all I could do was pray she didn't get a bloody nose.,, she didn't. Later in the game, last inning, we were down by one with 1 out and my girl hit a sac RBI to tie the game and we ended up going into extra innings. The other team scored SIX runs (the most allowed) I didn't think there was anyway we were going to come back and score six (I know I should have stayed positive but it just didn't look good at all for us). With two outs right off the back, the girls came back and scored SIX runs to tie the game forcing another extra inning. The ended up getting the team out 1-2-3. My daughter was up second in the line up. With a girl on third she hit a WALK OFF RBI single! Holy Cow Batman I was so excited. I can't even explain the joy of watching your child exceed. Those girls fought their way back and won. It was so freaking awesome! Renee: So good to see you. Thanks for the update and congrats and well wished on your new adventure Nutting: Good to see you too Angel: So sorry to hear about your dog. Hope all works out well for you and it resolved before your move. Muttleyn: I was sick for like 6-7 months straight with my first two kiddos it was miserable. If I wasn't nauseous I was actually puking. It was pure misery. I was able to go part-time with my daughter and take phenergan (which I am convinced doesn't really alleviate nausea it just knocks you out) BUT with kiddo number two I had to tough it out until DH came home from work because I had another baby to watch. I wish I had some advice for you to help alleviate it but I only learned how to tolerate it by drinking plenty of water right when I woke up and throughout the day to prevent the dry heaving and what foods to avoid because they don't come up so well, like Cheerios. HUGS sweetie, it will pass soon. Honey: Thank You SO MUCH. I am so proud of you not smoking. One of my son's coaches just quit chew and he says it is THE toughest thing he has ever done. HUGS Sorry if I missed someone. I have to get ready to go watch my niece in a school play :0 Oh-one more thing I ran 2.5 miles, felt great and even better I feel completely normal today!!! I have a 5k on Saturday please pray for strong legs

Miz, glad it worked out the best it could with your DM.
I'm trying my best to get a NSD today. It's really hard this week, but I'm running behind in my NSD/CSD goals for the month. Think frugal thoughts for me!! :-)

update: 20 NSD, 20 NEO, $100 in savings. I spent today because I dropped my cell phone and it went into 4 pieces. Seeing as that is the only phone I have I had to get a new one. I was thinking $100 -+ and was surprised that it was only $15. I forgot that they, tracfones, are cheap. Any way, I also bought a car charger for another $15. So for $30 I am set on the phone situation. Now if I can only figure out how to change the SIM card, I will be set to go.

Today was a NS day. Tomorrow DH is going to get more supplies for the deck project. Then on Friday when we are both off we'll plan on putting down the new floor of deck.
Honey Glad you are cigarette free!
3 cats - sometimes the SIM Card is under the battery. Hope that helps
Renee - Good luck with your clothing line.

busy work day getting ready to release a new video series on my website. so so thankful for blue eyes and our daily calls otherwise I would probably be pulling my hair out right now. and blue's younger brother is also replaying a few favors by working on some video and image work for me - so sweet! and now realizing we've been chatting for 2 hours and I talk to him more than I do my own brother
anywho, taking lots of deep breaths, trying to remember to eat meals and have some fun. although in the middle of a screen share with blue today my email reminder to "go eat dinner" came up and that led to a lot of teasing.
didn't even get out of the house today to spend money - I did buy a $3 book and video series online from a fitness coach that I follow. Been wanting to do her series for awhile and caught a good deal on the combo.

dakota: I found the SIM card but I don't have the tool to remove the screws to get it out. I need a really tiny philips head, like for jewelry or eyeglasses.

Rocky Mtn. Saver: 6/31 NSD, 6/31 CSD (<$5). I got an NSD yesterday (finally!) with a little creativity. I had to mail a package, but I found a book of stamps in my purse so I didn't spend any money. I also shopped in my pantry for a couple of items I was going to stop and pick up. Woo hoo! I'm expecting a CSD today, as I wasn't able to prepare a lunch for work today. But I'll get a sandwich at the cafeteria, so it won't be much. Honey: Congrats on the no-smoking!! You're doing great!

In fact, I just ordered a newer phone only because they finally offer phones with a full keyboard. I'm uber-excited to get it in the mail. It was $60 with triple minutes, so a bit more than my old flip-phone, but still very good for no-contract phones!! My friends are more excited than I am because I should finally be able to receive photos. ;D

3cats--I would take the old phone and the new phone to the people who sold you the new phone and let them change it for you. No reason to not take advantage of the skills of the technology savvy--call it customer service.

Rocky Mtn. Saver: 6/31 NSD, 7/31 CSD (<$5). One more CSD yesterday, probably another one today. I have to print some pictures out to mail, so I know I'll at least spend a couple bucks. Hopefully nothing else. My new phone arrived last night so I'll be busy playing with it anyway.
