another NSD - just worked at home today and did some cleaning after finishing with clients. Killed a spider in the garage, swept up, did the recycling, added to the compost pile and vacuumed tomorrow I'm going one town over for videos before meeting with a client in the afternoon. Hoping to take a bunch of good pictures!

Today was a CS, even though I had to buy lunch cuz I realized when I got to work, my lunch bag was still sitting on the counter at home...sigh...I hadn't bought lunch at all this week, so today ended up being my "buy lunch" day. And, I also treated myself to a frappe this afternoon, but, still a CS as it was within my "no more than twice a week" rule. Plus, I needed it after getting some potentially not very good news at the doctor today. It included the words "suspicious mass" in my breast. I have an appt Wednesday with the specialist. I'm hoping it's nothing, but still freaking out a bit. I'd appreciate any good thoughts and prayers anyone could send my way.

Constanz: Prayers being said for you! Stay strong and keep us posted on the results. Hoping the waiting is the worst part of this whole ordeal and the "suspicious mass" is nothing serious. {{hugs}}

Update: 11 NSDs and 4 CSDs I had a busy week and hope all of you are doing well -- haven't had time to read the rest of the thread so I have no clue as to what is happening woth all of you. I spent this week correcting student projects and after looking at all of this work (all digital copies) I avoided the computer during my "free" time. Final exams are next week so that aspect of work is finishing soon. Meetings will continue for another week or so.
I do have quite a bit of catching up to do in several areas -- cleaning, laundry, and a little shopping. I am pretty sure that I will be spending both days this weekend since I have to get several items at several different places.
Wishing all of you well. Hugs to those who need them.

constanz - Sending prayers your way.
I hope everyone has a great weekend. My parents will be down tomorrow afternoon. I'm so excited. I took DS over to play with our neighbors for an hour. He had a good time and actually played with the other 2 little kids. That made me happy. Of course they nearly took the neighbors lawn mower for a ride. All 3 of them had climbed up on it while it was on a trailer and the neighbor's boy (he's 3.5) hit the release break and it wasn't strapped down. Fortunately the ramp of the trailer was up and they didn't go anywhere, but that was a little scary. DS didn't want to come home, but after we started back up the hill to our house he walked without crying and he said "bye" and the neighbor's little girl (1.5) said "bye" back. So cute! ;D

Happy birthday Dakota!! Good thoughts Constanz We went car shopping yesterday and decided on getting the Mazda 5. It suits all of our needs and is in our price range plus DH can comfortably fit it and drive it. Only bummer is we have to wait until August and I want it NOW (I know, what a 1st world problem to have). This will be good practice for me though since I'm not so good at delayed gratification. The moving preparation continues though I took a bit of a break this week. DD1 woke up from a nap today with a fever so instead of the birthday party we were planning to go to, I've been cleaning all day and finding stuff to get rid of in between giving her love and comfort. Hope everyone has a good weekend!

sbcali - yay on the car decision! How about thinking of it as a "welcome to new mexico" gift? I've got some boxes, let me know if you need them.
Been productive today - mowed the lawn, killed weeds, trimmed the grass edging, made soup, spray painted a chair, painted the door hardware for the last door, gave 2 dogs a bath and now I'm working on the laundry.

update; 18 NSD, 18 NEO, $100 in savings. The "kids" put the new pool up and lost their black cat. He is around someplace but they do not know where. He will be back in the morning. I am sorry but I cannot sleep knowing my cat is out at night. But that is me.

I have some glassware I think you might be interested in too (besides the mugs). I like the idea of a welcome gift, maybe that will make me a bit happier about waiting. 3cats: Hope the cat makes a quick reappearance!

Rocky - I had to chuckle at redwagon's "snood" comment. I actually have a snood-like head piece in scrolled gold metal. I have not been to a Ren Faire in quite a while. Actually, I wish I could get more involved with the SCA as my preferred era is 11th century Britain. startsmart - Good for Blue Eyes on his client. Though I must make a confession - I am STILL a bit fuzzy on what it is you do exactly *grins*. dakota - Hope you had a great birthday!!! constanz - Sending you good thoughts on upcoming doctor visits regarding the "mass". I can empathize - I found a lump in my breast around Christmas 1993. I had it removed in February 1994 - it turned out to be a plugged milk duct. My doctor AND my surgeon told me that at least 50% of women will get some sort of "lump" at some point in their lives. And the majority of them are infections or other types of benign growths. 3cats - I am with you. If I had a cat "missing" at night and not in the house I would not be able to sleep either until they were back. Pointy - Nice to see you? How are things going? **************************************************** I considered whether to post my latest rant here ... but I think it would take too much room. The condensed version includes: Dental issues and major work needed. A note from the unemployment office that made me MORE than upset. Money/spending issues. Feelings of isolation and anxiety. And struggling with a lack of creativity or motivation. In short, I am sure I am not a real pleasure to be around.

lol Honey - I think my business is just shifting too much for anyone to get a hold on it - even me sometimes. I did think of you last week when I worked with my international client on HR policies and systems. We have our next call on Tuesday and I'm pulling in his HR director to the conversation to ensure all my recommendations get implemented Also, feeling you on the stress and isolation. Are you getting out of the house enough? I am committing to going out at least to the park a few times a week for a walk or picnic or something so I stop staring at my walls and thinking about what needs to be done or the money I don't have yet to do it. Thankfully my parents are coming into town next week and we'll get to work on both bathrooms, install a door and clean out my garage of their excess furniture. Today has been uber lazy, and the dogs are driving me crazy. I think it's about time to push Jax into the shower since he needs a bath but then I'm calling it a day.

Rocky Mtn. Saver: 5/31 NSD, 6/31 CSD (<$5).
Well, all I got over the weekend was one CSD on Sunday. I spent a little moolah the other days. Again, not much in truth, but too much for a CSD. Today will probably also be a spend day, but I'm trying to angle Tuesday and Wednesday into NSD's to get back on track for my goal.
Hope everyone had a nice weekend! We finally got some badly-needed rain.

Thanks all for the b-day wishes. It was kind of a cruddy weekend, both DH & mini-D were sick. At least I it was only DH on Friday and Saturday, I can tell him to leave me alone. So while I did get lots of cuddle time with mini-D, he was running a 101 temp and didn't want to be further than 6 inches away from me. I'm hoping that I'm going to avoid getting sick, but considering I spent most of yesterday holding him I a probably will get it.
Honey-Hugs, I hope you find get some good news soon.
SBCali- Yeah on deciding on a new car.
Muttley- Hope you had fun with your parents.
Constanz- Prayers for you!

dakota - We had a great time with my parents.
For my facebook friends, there is a new album named Tractor Arrival. It is really cool. I tried to copy a picture here, but it wasn't working. Remember that tractor is a 1949 tractor! Can you believe? It really hasn't been used since '94, but my uncle and dad still took good care of it and after a new battery it was running last night.

Honey - hugs
Constanz - hoping it's nothing serious! Waiting is always so hard!
My weekend was busy. two days of labor and $100 later, and our pool should be functional again. I'm so excited to get it running again!!! My parents also helped us stain our new bay window, do a bunch of yard work, and organize some stuff in the soon to be nursery. They'll be back in three weeks to do some more stuff. Good times!! And my stepdad pulled up a corner of carpet in the nursery and discovered there's already hardwood underneath that matches the rest of the upstairs! That's going to save us some serious money! Really excited about that! And my mom took me out shopping and bought me a few maternity items.
We had an ultrasound on Friday and the babies both were very active and waved at us. So cute!! Can't wait to meet them. I'm already a third through pregnancy, which is just crazy.
So in summary, a busy, productive, somewhat spendy weekend but all planned. Except maybe the bag of Dove chocolates. But I'm preggo, so it's allowed.
Muttley - how did they react to your news?

Red- They were THRILLED. They caught on way too quick, but they were totally excited.
It is another sick day at work. It sucks. I thought I was doing ok, but ended up having to run to the bathroom in the middle of a meeting with my boss and coworker. Sigh. Now lunch is not settling real well either. UGH.

It stopped around 16-18 weeks with Ben. So, I've got a LONG way to go. The last 4 weeks were more sporadic, but I still threw up and missed some work.

Question - I need to offer some advice to a friend and I'm not sure which way to go on this one so I thought I'd come to you for some insight.
Friend has $5000 that they can use to pay off some debt. They have about $9000 in debt on 2 CCs.
Card #1 - 4400 at 18% Card #2 - 4600 at 23%
Their question was should they pay off Card #2 completely since it is the higher rate and be done w/that card (and in the process gain a great utilization score for that card) or should they split the payment between the cards so as to have a better utilization on both cards even though they would still have a balance on both cards.
My first instinct was to split the payment but then I started second guessing.

I'd feel better paying off one whole card, especially given the interest rate.

smokey - If they payoff all of card 2, then they can "snowball" card #2s payment into card #1. You can definately gain some debt paying leverage by eliminating the number of payments.

My sister had her baby on Saturday. The same sister who had complications in March. I posted pics on my facebook page if we are friends or you can see them on my blog anotherhousewife.com/?p=2404Tomorrow I am writing a post about my daughter's bloody tears. I have never been more freaked out...ever. She had a bloody nose on Saturday and when i pinched near the bridge of her nose to stop it, it cause the blood to come out her eyes. The urgent care doctor said it was normal. For the fifteen minutes it took to get her there and seen, I was scared to death! My daughter is playing in the Championship game tonight thanks to going undefeated throughout the tournament. So excited for the team but I swear I don't breath the entire game. Muttleyn: CONGRATS! I must have missed the announcement in my absence. SO happy for you! ~Happy No Spending~

Thanks everyone for the responses - that's why I came here ;D
I will pass along the information and allow them to make their informed decision! I think I will also tell them that once they have paid off Card #2 and made a couple snowballed payments to Card #1 that they could try calling to seek a lower interest rate!

Smky- Plus that means they have one less payment that has be paid every month. If something were to happen and they couldn't continue to snowball it is only 1 card that has to have a minimum payment made.
