Your "help" function can assist you in a much shorter time - it's just like google. Click on help and type in "reduce".

I want to bring you up to speed of what's going on.
I received a new laptop at work and it's operating system is Window 7.
Windows 7 has the same functions BUT it has a 100% different look.
The toolbar is no longer called a toolbar - called ribbons now
there is no Help option anymore - well actually it is here somewhere but it's not called help anymore.
The options I'm used to using in Windows XP have not exactly name changes but the path to get to them have name changes and it's a bit frustrating to find where it's all moved around to.

so it's taking me a little longer to adjust an excel spreadsheet that normally takes a total of 10 to 12 minutes. Now it's going on an hour.

I see. I'm no teckky so I don't know the proper terms but there is help there somewhere. Usually its a (?) on all my programs. Good luck!

Click on "Start" (The Windows icon in the lower left corner of your monitor ) --->>

A small pop-up window will appear. Then click on "Help and Support" - the BLUE circile with the white question mark
--->>

In the search bar, type in (in just a few words) what it is you're looking for or trying to do). Another screen will pop up with steps to follow.

found the Help in Excel that you pointed out
usually it doesn't help with my questions - which is why I just stopped using it altogether.
now that I know the answer to creating boarders in excel
I went to the help and typed in
boarders - no matches came up
lines - answers to charts and tables came up
then gave up cause it was taking up too much time.

plus having to look for desk space in the other building for two of our techs working on a project for the next few months
plus having to deal with the raising stink of the fertilizer grounds keeping is spreading all over campus
Plus trying to get answers to questions asked from yesterday trying to navigate around W7 - which this is gonna be the most frustrating part!

set up 2 new project managers in finance software system
delete 1 project manager in finance software system
switch 5 projects to different project managers in finance software system

the other night this week tried to take mom to the movies
she wanted to see some movie I never heard of before - and it has Nichols Cage in it
Mom said she likes Nicholas Cage and has seen all his movies. - OK
she wanted to go to a Theater that is about an hour away
I said it's playing at a theater closer to me and at a earlier time (early by 20 minutes)
she had never been there to the theater before

so went we get to the theater I 100% forgot the name of the movie BUT only remembered the time 8:10PM
didn't see the time at all on the board and asked the Teenager at the counter asked what movie are we looking for
I said I forgot the name but it has Nicholas Cage in it
she asked Ghost Rider? I said no not that one - there is another one that's out
she said - I don't know!
so I pull out Kim (new cell phone) and start looking up the time - but I'm still in trying to figure out how to operate my cell upgrade. Mom is now saying lets go1 lets leave it's not playing here!

then I started remembering this same shit is happening here on the boards! how I say something and it gets twisted around. now I feel embarrassed! and look like an idiot that I can't get not just movie times correct but the wrong theater too...

I finally figured out how to use the cell to get times and BOOM - there it is Seeking Justice 8:10PM Rockaway AMC. I'm like mom it's playing here and it's 8:05PM we can still see it. she said it's not on the board inside. it's not playing here. forget what the Internet says.

I'm left feeling stupid in front of the teenager and my mom. I take her home. I was going to go back and complain to the manager. But then what for? All that would happen is the manager might look up on his computer to see the misprint on-line and say ok I see.

I want to know how to create a border to the bottom of the cell
click the ? top (very top) right corner in blue using windows 7
in the search field I type in: create border
search results
1-Change or Remove a text box
2- Create or change a cell reference
3-Create an organization chart
4-change the border of a shape in a smartArt graphic
5-change the color of a shape, shape border, or entire SmartArt graphic
OK the list goes on for the top 25 - NONE of this is the answer I need or was looking for.

Thank you SL for trying - the help options normally do not help with my questions and normally takes much longer to use the help only to end up NOT getting the answer I need. It's faster for me to figure it out on my own.

I was telling her the trouble I'm having navigating around W7!
I was great at XP - but now things are all moved around and renamed so that makes it difficult to find stuff. I thought I was ready for Windows 7 for my everyday tasks - but I was asked two NEW tasks yesterday and I'm having trouble completing them!

She asked Windows 7 - What's that?
the palm of my hand almost slammed my forehead! - ;D
I said /answered - it's the Windows upgrade to Windows XP
she said windows XP - What's that? is that Internet?
I walked around to the other side of her desk to see what she is using...
I said ok you're using XP - it's your OS - Operating System.
she said Ohhh - ok what's that do? is it the hard drive of software?
I said well most of us in my area are on XP still so I can not ask around for help so I can get up to speed.
she said oh! maybe you can try the help and support?

I was walking back from the copier in the office
reading my printout
then a woman caught my attention walking in the visitors parking lot
I stopped and looked out the window - and quietly said dam - she is pretty
three guys immediately went to the windows behind me
she was wearing a black dress long hair past her shoulders
with curves I can see from this distance away
then two more guys were walking in towards me
and saw 4 guys all looking out the window
and they too stopped to look at this woman
when she was out of view
I looked up and saw all these guys looking
I said ok guys shows over back to work while laughing

I felt bad then - but I was not convenience you completely joined

Z....I had your back when I saw someone harrassing you because I felt like you deserve the right to express how you feel. But, I must admit, it is a bit troubling for anyone to sit here and see you discussing boobs and etc...when you have made it abundantly clear that you do have a woman. I don't know if it is attention you are seeking or you are just lonely. Nonetheless, don't you know that some o the stuff you are dragging out here is a bit on the well......weird side?
