Ungenteel-as the word 'cracker' has different meanings for different posters (including me), please delete it out of your original post.
Everyone else-please stop using the word here unless you are speaking of crackers as in food.

sorry .. please be specific about "what' is offensive about the term .. then I can address the subject ..
I defended the term in a way that should not be offensive to any individual ... without specificity how can I justify ... I should have a right to defend the term against a specific charge .. not just face a generic term to "shut it up" ... last time I looked ... I live in America

Hmm, how to put this in a way you can understand. Think of it this way, when you're alone with your liberal friends, you can tell jokes about Christians, Southern whites and Jews and laugh it up. In public (i.e. a public message board), you should use a bit more discretion. Get it?

I say again, there is a pretty even split here between the two sides, and both sides seem to have no problem speaking out and there are some from both sides who seem to be doing fairly well in being open in their comments , seeing the other sides point of view , even agreeing at time or at least responding civily.
My feeling are that some don't really care for this evenness and the civality when expressed. They would rather see what was at the old board.
The point is, there is a new top boss here, and while not being involved intimatly over here in the 'political", she is involved trying to get new people to show up, grow the "Forum" and if she sees that the board is reverting to what was on the old , where one side or the other feels they are being coerced, attacked , if
