DH made a very gentle comment about my weight over the weekend too. Does DH have a death wish?

Have you been attending sessions with Liz? My wife (who I mentioned a few pages ago started counseling) was going weekly then tapered off to bi-weekly and now monthly but isn't happy with it. She said it takes them 20 minutes to re-jive then only has 25 minutes left to work on whatever the session topic is. Do you experience this too? I recommended she jump right in at the start of the session but she said with the break she needs to re-comfort herself with her therapist and can't just sit down and start working on X. No. Liz and I agreed that I'm doing well enough on my own that I don't need to go back unless something comes up. I see my doctor today for my cough and I'll bring up my meds. She wanted to see me at the end of summer. I'm only a couple of months late... And I figured I'd see Liz around them too, just as a refresher/checkin/something. We didn't really have a lot of recap going on in my sessions. If there's that much recap, I think I'd want to go back to every other week sessions. In my case, once I got a chance to bitch, safely, and we got my meds figured out, I just dealt with stuff on my own. Because I was back in a place where, for the most part, I felt I could handle it. If that makes sense.

DH made a very gentle comment about my weight over the weekend too. Does DH have a death wish? No, it was ok. This time. ;D And he KNEW it was a sensitive subject and he was clearly trying not to trip the landline he knew was in there but still be helpful. That's a hard line to walk for anyone and he did it as best as he could.

I want this damn cough to go away and never come back. Why do I get a stupid hacking/non-productive cough every freaking winter? Why?

I had a really good 3 day weekend. ;D DH and I both ended up off on Friday. It was a pretty lazy day. And Sat. DH took DD to a train thing with his family and I stayed home with DS. DD attended her 1st party on Sunday. She didn't want to go (after we'd RSVP'd and bought and wrapped a gift ) but we kind of forced her too (told her she'd need to take a nap if she didn't go) and she had a lot of fun. She insisted on wearing a skirt and a sleeveless top today to school. It's like 30 degrees this morning. She's got a couple of sweaters and a pair of sweats packed in her school bag. And my cough is so much better now.

DH and I were dealing with dinner stuff in the kitchen last night and I mentioned that a coworker was celebrating her 1st wedding anniversary. We talked about how fast and slow the time's gone as we went to their wedding. And that was around the time I was having the crying fits and thinking how DH deserved a better wife and the kids better/different parents. And how glad I was to be out of there. DH was quiet for a moment and then said he was glad I was out of that spot too. In thinking back, I'm not really sure he knew/realized how down/depressed I was. He knew about the crying fits but I'm not sure if I'd told him about the other thoughts. It was interesting.
We've been working on decluttering the kitchen, in fits and starts. We're making progress and tossing stuff out as we go.

I left my pills AND my keycard (with office key) on my desk Friday. So no pills over the weekend. I took Caleb shopping on Sat. morning. He was really good. He only took off 1x and he lost me so after that he stayed by me. He's got winter boots now and a scarf and both kids got snowpants and a couple more pair of sweats/pants so I don't have to do so much freaking laundry every couple of days.

Well, I think I've learned something. Drinking while not taking my pills is a bad idea. Not taking the pills in the 1st place is a bad idea. I was down last night and I'm not so hot right now either. And today I'm in Jen's corner and don't want to live with DH any more. I know it will pass but last night sucked.

I'm still kinda down. I need to make an appt. to see my doctor and my therapist. I got a mammogram done on Friday. They had a cancellation and I grabbed it. And I need to make a 3 year well child visit for DS.
I got a bunch of Christmas decorations up, with the help of the kids. DH did some online shopping. I need to go over what he got and figure out what I'm buying on Friday. I'm going Christmas shopping with my older sister and out to lunch. I'm hoping to knock off the vast majority of it.

My heart hurts. I emailed my old dcp to ask if something I had was hers. And I asked how things are going. Not so hot. Her H has been unemployed for the better part of 2.5 years now. And he's in a specialized field that's not doing much hiring. She mentioned that she's glad her kids aren't growing fast because buying shoes would break them. I know I'm not in a place to help them financially and I know they're taking advantage of whatever is out there. But I want them to be doing better. I suspect they're going to be foreclosed on. I know from what she's said in the past that their credit sucks. He's being open about it at interviews but still no luck. He apparently can't even get a retail job.

Well, I just told DH to go ahead and do a cash out refi on the house. We're going to pay off the house (mortgage and HELOC) and the vacation land. Rate is 3%, no escrow (don't ask) and I'm not sure about points. Payments go from $928 a month to $651 for a savings of $277 a month. I asked DH what's going to happen to that money. I don't want to be pissing it away (which I told him) and he says he thinks it will take us to May to catch up and then he wants to it in the money market account. I do NOT get his math on needing to May to catch up. I'm pretty sure our bills coming due in the next 3 months do NOT equal all available cash + paychecks. But I could be wrong.
But we did agree that we'll BOTH be involved in the budget starting Jan. 1st. He's agreed to start over with a new and improved spreadsheet. His was more of a cash flow statement. In tiny font. In Excel. I get twitchy just thinking about it... I'm going to push for the spreadsheet from Sroo, because I like that one best. (I feel like there should be neeyner neeyner (sp) emoticon here. Anyway,

Ahhh, parts of this weekend sucked (see my post in the Older kid thread) and parts of it rocked. DH and I pounded out most of the shopping for our kids for Christmas, including the dreaded Toys R Us run. What's left is a pillow for DD and the presents for the cousins/my god daughters. The kids can be along for those. And I'm going to have Keira pick out some stuff for them. Should be good. ;D
Sat. night the kids spent at my sister's. It was glorious to have a night without them. I got tipsy/drunk. And got to sleep in the nude without having to deal/worry about my DD asking/commenting on it. She has really good radar and the nights I'm in the nude are the nights she's up more. And even if there's no loving involved, she still KNOWS somehow. Kids are weird.
I see my doctor tomorrow. Part annual physical, part checkin on my meds and part follow up on my cough from last month. I'm off on Wednesday to take DS to the same doctor, afternoon appt. I know I won't be able to talk to her about me if he's with me. I'll be chasing him and forget everything. And in the morning DS and I are going to go to the Museum to see the dinosaurs and whatever else he wants to see. My Mom's going to pick up DD on both Tuesday and Wednesday for me.

I saw my doctor yesterday. She was amazed at my muscle tone, which I don't get. She loved my good chlorestoral (in the 90s); told me to start doing 30 minutes of exercise 3x a week, working up to daily. and she wants to see me to get my sugar levels tested in spring. My mammogram came back just fine too.

And I took Cabe to the doctor yesterday. So she saw me twice in 2 days. lol. And got to see my muscle tone in action as I was holding Cabe when she walked in. He's 42 lbs and 3 feet 5 inches.
We went to the Museum in the morning, so he could see the dinosaurs. Except it was kinda dark and he was scared. Like heart poundingly scared (I was holding him and my ear was against his chest) but he kept wanting to go back. And then he'd want to be carried. And then he get scared and want to leave the dinosaurs. And then 5 minutes later he'd want to go back in. Rinse and repeat. So I'd ask him. He'd say yes, he wanted to see the dinosaurs. Boy did I get a workout in. He was a particularly happy camper when we left.
Overall, it was good day. Keira's kinda jealous but I did remind her that she got a day at the Museum with Mommy last month and it was Cabe's turn.
St. Nick visited this morning. Keira got a reg. size pillow and 2 Disney princess pillow cases for it. Plus an ornament, a stick of M&Ms, an apple and a box of Christmas goldfish. Cabe got a dinosaur puzzle, a plush dinosaur ornament, an apple, a box of Christmas goldfish and a stick of M&Ms. St. Nick is boring in our house. ;D

God, I'm tired. The last 2 nights have sucked in that the kids/DH wake me up and then I have problems falling back asleep. I have another headache this morning. DH was told he's on kid duty tonight so I can sleep.
I have no expectations of Cabe making it though the day at dcp. He's more aggressive when he's tired and boy is he overtired.

ON the up side, DH thinks we're only going to have to pay under $50 for all his tests and doctor visit. The final bills are trickling in and the highest one is $25 or so. He was expecting over $1K so he's really happy about that. On the down side, we're all sick again. i think we gave my MIL the cough and she turned it into a sinus infection and passed it back. I see my doctor later on today. I expect to be given a prescription and told to go home and rest for a couple of days. Oh and on the 7th I went home and napped. Cabe made it all day at dcp too. Our tree is up, most of the presents are bought. We're done to gift cards and turning the kids loose in the $1 section of Target. The tree needs lights and ornaments and all the wrapping needs to be done yet. And I still want to bake. DH is off next week and he also wants to bake. So he's going to bake his GF stuff. He's the world's suckiest wrapper but I may stick him with the " it in a gift bag and stuff tissue paper in" presents.

Beth, I really like reading your updates. You're getting so few comments these days that I thought I'd speak up for the people that I'm sure are reading and silently giving you 'you go, girl' encouragement. (Is there an emoticon for that?)
You're coping so well during this stressful time.
Here's an idea on the meds, so you don't have to go a weekend without. Can you either keep them in your purse so they are always with you, or keep a small supply at home and work? That should keep you covered ...

Thanks everyone. Yeah, I kinda amazed at the number of views this post has. SL came though with the avatar. Bless/karma for her, if you have any to spare. Yeah, I usually keep my pills in my purse and now I doublecheck my desk for pill bottles before I leave. I talked to my SIL a little while ago. Her DH (Scott's bro) has decided to stop taking him ADHD meds "because they don't work/I don't need them" and he hit the roof when she said she didn't think she could handle Christmas. He also bought her $50 worth of Godiva. She and he are both diabetic... Scott's off all of next week. Lucky bastard. on the other hand, that means he gets to clean and prep for Christmas. he gets 1 day to be a lazy slug. And he wants to bake some GF cookies. I want to bake real cookies. maybe this weekend I can get some dough made. I want to do sugar cookies with the kids, God help me.

Not really. I get 4 day weekends for both Christmas and New Year's. I'm taking off 12/26 so the kids can decompress. And I have to go in to work on 12/22 or 12/23 due to Payroll needs so that's overtime.
And I get to do data dumps next week of the VAC dates for the entire field. And House Repickings for those with most seniority. And the FLSA cycle ends next week too. So basically I need to work next week.

I'm back at work today. Yay, I think.
AFter the kids were in bed, DH and I talked. I gave him the update from his SIL and he had more updates for me. Apparently SIL has been talking to our MIL and MIL has shared with DH. Who did NOT share with me. Things are worse than ever in that house. And BIL is drinking a lot, including smuggling bottles in so SIL won't see (but then blatantly fills a glass with ice and go sits in their basement bar? WTF?) And he's blaming EVERYTHING on their DD, who's 12.5. And for those who remember her story, she's still hanging in there. I think things are better with DN and SIL. They're apparently united by a dislike of DN's teacher and principal. SIL teaches at the same school DN attends.

Joy. I will be getting approximately 225 transfers to enter. Why do I work for a dept. with 900+ employees? Why couldn't I work for a smaller dept?
