Schools are closed for another day.
The winds have stopped but there is so much snow out there. My garage door will open. Snow guy has been by twice but it needs done again.
I have to go pick up my food this afternoon. The roads are trash.

Good Afternoon Kids! The place I go to for alterations is so busy that they only set appointments online now. I've got a "funeral dress" (for lack of a better description, it's beautifully tailored, but I save it to wear at funerals) that needs a bit more tailoring, so I requested an appointment, and they emailed me back a day & time, and mentioned I MUST wear a mask during my appointment. That's fine with me, as I always keep one of my cloth ones in the car anyway, as it's hit or miss on who requires them right now. I am seeing more cashiers wearing them again.

Please invest in KN95's or N95's. Cloth masks don't do much. I can mail you a few.
I give them out to anyone who comes in my house as masks are required by anyone to enter. I say anyone because people seem to think they are exempt.

I say anyone because people seem to think they are exempt. I've got some of them at home too. Thank you for the offer! I just keep a cloth one in the car, because, as I said, different places are just now beginning to require masks again, and I mostly run in and out of places. If I'm someplace where I need to sit & stay for a long time, like a doctor's office, then the better quality mask comes along.

Yup, I know I should. I fear there are a couple of people at my church who have labeled me, as I have skipped the after-church Bible study since Covid. Now that cases are climbing here again, I'm thinking I'll have to stay away for quite awhile longer. I am aware of one senior woman at our church, though greatly admired by many, refuses to get vaccinated. She's old enough that Covid could take her down quickly if she gets it.

Sadly, we all are at risk of being the person Covid kills.
My family thinks I am crazy. I think they are. I no longer am concerned about labels. I do have my own names for them.

Thinking of you this evening, toomuchreality, and praying your procedure went well, and that you're now resting comfortably. We got just a bit of snow in the late afternoon/early evening. Now our grass is barely covered in snow, and we're supposed to get a bit more tomorrow night.

TheOtherMe I hope your basement is emptied soon. If not Saturday, perhaps Sunday. We are supposed to get a storm here on Saturday. I have an appointment to have my oil changed on Saturday. Hope I do not have to cancel. My oil light came on last Thursday. My DF added a quart of oil and the light has not returned.

It's snowing again this evening. A sudden snow squall of first 1-3 inches and now 2-4 inches.

Good Morning Kids! I went out early to put gas in the car, because the thermometer is just going to keep dropping here. I'm NOT looking forward to below zero temps, but it IS Winter after all. At least the sun is bright in the sky.

For a few hours today, we have gorgeous sunshine.
Ended up with about 4 inches of snow overnight. Supposed to be another big one starting this evening and all day tomorrow.
This storm may mean Stuff doesn't leave my basement.
Supposed to be below zero next week. It doesn't normally snow when it gets that cold.

It usually doesn't snow when it gets below zero, but I've seen it. I've also seen snow in May. With global warming, I'm expecting to see even stranger stuff. Did you hear the other day that the Canadian fires aren't out yet? Some have gone underground. I am SO hoping we aren't inhaling forest fire smoke this Summer like we were last year.

At least when it gets really cold, the snow is usually the fluffy type. This last snowstorm the temperatures were right around 30 degrees or so as it was falling, so it was wet and heavy for shoveling.
My snow guy never had to come until January. For this storm alone, he has been here 3 times and he has needed to come three times. He does not take advantage of me.
Looks he did a good job of cleaning up last night's snow because if it gets as cold as expected after the storm that starts tonight, it's going to be there a long time.

The temperature is doing a nose dive at the moment and unfortunately will be staying below freezing for probably at least the next 10 days. They have upgraded our low temperature for Sunday from -2 degrees to a positive 2 degrees.

Aw nuts! During the 6 pm news, we were told windchills this weekend would be around -20. Now, on the 10 pm news, they claim it'll be -30. Guess I'll be sticking close to home.

Brrrr!!!!!. We are sitting at 10 degrees with subzero windchill temps. I have to go out to feed and water the cows but other than that my plan is to stay inside all weekend.

Temperatures are dropping, it's snowing and blowing. Drifts are being made in the usual spots in my yard and drive.
I'm staying home until spring.

Holy Moly! I had another heart attack when I woke up Monday morning! I'm currently in the hospital and scheduled for surgery tomorrow. Hopefully they can put more stents in, or re-open the stents that are already in, if they closed. It hasn't been my best day, but if they can fix the problems I've been having, with this, I will be happy! Have a good day. I'll he talking to yo soon. OMG TMR! I am so sorry your having such health issues. I do hope your surgery went well and that you are healing quickly.

Happy Friday Muffins!!!
We haven't gotten much sNOw yet but the arctic front will hit us tonight with below 0 temps through Monday. It will be -6 on Sunday night and a high of 8 on Monday. We are only suppose to get a total of about 5 inches of sNOw over the next 3 days. Then back into the 40s by Wednesday. Stay safe and warm everyone!
Have a Nice Weekend!

I bought some clam chowder soup base that was part of a fundraiser. It is from my favorite seafood restaurant along the coast. Since the temps have been hovering right around 10 degrees with the wind chill around -5 I decided clam chowder would be the perfect dinner for tonight.

Definitely snowbound, Nancy. Car can't get out of garage, which is fine by me.
I actually may be able to get out soon as it sounds like my snow guy is here. Snow removal is costing me money this week.
ETA: It was the wind, not the snow guy. We got 9.6 inches of blowing snow. I don't hear the wind this morning.

Good Evening Kids! toomuchreality, I hope you're healing up, and will be able to escape the hospital soon! It was an interesting day. First, at least so far, we haven't gotten half the snow we were promised, although the thermometer IS dropping. Then, I took my "good" dress in for alterations, and the person doing the work told me some stuff. I bought the dress at Macy's years back, assuming because it was a brand name, that it should last me awhile. It's a black dress in a classic style, so I use it for funerals. Well, first of all I was told that the alteration place makes some of their best money from expensive retailers, because the big-name designers really don't pay much attention to detail. Like, they'll use expensive fabric, but not pay attention while sewing, then they use cheap notions, like zippers. My dress was designed for a woman 5' 7" or taller, which I am not. So, we're redoing the waist, nipping in the shoulders, and replacing the zipper, which is going to cost me more than what I originally spent to buy the dress. But when it's done, it should wear like iron, so hopefully I'll get a lot of "mileage" out of it before I retire it.

Ugh. I'm so tired of these high efficiency appliances. The condensate line for my hot water heater is frozen, so now trying to find a plumber who will answer their phone, then we will see if they are willing to work after hours. One place did have a message on their machine that if it was an emergency to call this number. That number was no longer in service. Another plumber isn't accepting new clients. This line runs from the hot water heater, which is in a closet in the kitchen, through the attic about halfway across the house, then down the wall to drain into the pipe where the washing machine drains.

Sorry Sharon. Is the problem anything your SIL can help with, at least until you can get a serviceman out to your place? The wind is nasty here. It is rattling the front door at times, which sets off the dogs to barking.
