Hello all, DSD called, all moved in, oil being delivered, scheduled a tune up/service for the heating system. She got the electric changed to the non-profit, FIOS set up. The fun begins. She is responsible for house supplies, cold breakfast, scheduling and stuff like that. she told me they charge 225/wk per girl. 3x wk drug testing, plus random, mandatory therapy sessions, working, house chores. She took the smallest bedroom, so no roommate, corner room with 2 windows.

Congrats on your sobriety. I went to Alanon for quite a while which was helpful however it did not change my view about what is thought of as a "disease" I believe it is a weakness not a disease and I know alot of druggies and alcoholics. The excuses are plentiful. Whatever works for people to get sober is great but I wish they would give themselves credit instead of "god"

Thanks Ride, whatever works. As you know, I am proudly, one of the 12stepper, believers. It works for me, and countless others. The point here we agree is us addicts seek help and get clean, however we do it.

Hello everyone, any news on MDW? Had breakfast w/ DSD and her grandfather yesterday, DSD is doing OK, DW called me about her, asking me to take her shopping. The kid has a cell phone (we pay the bill) so all she has to do is ask, yet she calls her mom (in TX on business) GF ended up taking her after breakfast, go figure??

Please, if everyone of us in recovery, can please be aware of what we've been so freely taught. Reach out, give back the tools that were so freely given to you. We must give back to the addict/alcohol still suffering. We cannot stand by copmplacent and watch others suffer. We must always reach out a hand, and at least try to get them to see the light.

Good Morning and Happy Saturday! I went to my meeting last night. That was good, good stuff (as usual). I actually talked to someone for a bit, too. I'm trying to be more "open" when I go, it should help with my isolation issues. to MDW -- we're thinking about you and miss you! Hey Daphne, yep it's always better to share if you can. Isolation is not a good thing

It was right there my friend....... Right there.......
"How dark it is before the dawn! In reality that was the beginning of my last debauch. I was soon to be catapulted into what I like to call the fourth dimension of existence. I was to know happiness, peace, and usefulness, in a way of life that is incredibly more wonderful as time passes." Alcoholics Anonymous, 4th Edition, Bill's Story, pg. 8

When you feel alone like no one cares, read this because it's absolutely true: Every night, someone thinks about you before they go to sleep. At least 15 people in this world love you. The only reason someone would ever hate you is because they want to be just like you. There are at least 2 people in this world that would die for you. You mean the world to someone. Someone that you don't even know exists loves you. When you make the biggest mistake ever, something good comes from it. When you think the world has turned its back on you, take a look. Always remember the compliments you've received. Forget the rude remarks.

Good morning, all. Dreary, cloudy and cool (48F to be the high) here today. I'd love to see the sun but that's not to be, I guess. My old, arthritic Siamese is complaining bitterly. Hence, the recent order of heated cat beds for the lot!
Glad to hear you're moving past the pain and into the recovery, roy. I think that's what we all seek ... that point in time when a door opens and light flows through. Once we have that, there is a beacon in the darkness, eh?
Change is afoot, eh, Chiver? Times like that can be exciting and trying at the same time. I, too, see this coming year as a year of changes. I hope I can weather them in such a way as to make them a productive and positive move forward. Good luck with it all!
