Thx, Dez, but no thanks. I did not like in the first place the Feds taking the case from the state, but now the lawyer is trying to take it from the Feds. THAT will piss me off if it happens because of time lost. As for getting worked up-- we NEED to get worked up when there is a mass murder like this that includes public figures. If not us, then who?? But-- in all honesty, on second thought-- I hear Fed pens are much nicer than state pens, so maybe this should revert back to the state, so he does not get a desk, a lamp, and a TV in his lockdown motel room. Is that still the way Fed prison is?? Anyone know?? That's why people rob banks instead of convenience stores. Maybe it is different now.....

There are a few easier prisons , still Prisons, that white coller , lower time non violent prisoners might go to but still prison. Martha went to one. Overall, you and i wouldn't want to go to one of the majority of them...where this one ends up, I have no idea, it will be a while yet..

Re: Gabrielle Giffords shot in head
Gabby seems to be making great progress on her long road to recovery and there does seem to be a lessening of the vitriolic and mean spirited rhetoric in congress. However the Liberal Media didn't get that memo and they are still blaming Sarah Palin and others on the right for contributing to all the vile and hatred we see today permeating the news media.
I also think the hypocrisy is overwhelming when we have so many threads being started here for one purpose only to demean and degrade anyone who is NOT a Liberal Democrat.....getting to be rather lame...IMHO

THEY aren't starting threads to demean people who are not liberals, bill. Every thread you mentioned was started by the same person. That poster, alone, is doing it.

Actually yes. Today has been quite entertaining and Mr. ed1066 has provided most of it. Mr. billisonboard has been on his game as well. Unfortunately this has been clouded somewhat by the outrageous actions of Mr. deminmaine. I hope he took a refresher course on moderating here as rules do not exactly resemble the MSN ways.

Well we all have changed the subject's direction so I guess it is time to put it back on track.
Any new medical updates on Gabby Giffords? From what I have read she may be discharged from the hospital Friday and head for a rehab center. Great news for her.

Gabby is supposed to be released to a rehab in Houston on Friday, last I heard. That was one of the issues almost half of District 8 had with Gabby in the recent election. She does not really live here, but in Texas with her husband. We don't like that. She visits here often, but her main home is in Texas. Any way- it is supposed to be a top of the line rehab specializing in traumatic penetrating head wounds. Makes sense that she go there, and then her husband can go back to work. I heard she can move all of her limbs on command and appeared to be reading cards mailed to her. Miraculous is what it is. Our dear Sheriff DUPNIK ( ) has been gagged by the county attorney and has in turn gagged his officers. No more statements, no more interviews. Too bad he did not gag himself before he caused a lot of damage in the beginning. BUT-- it's okay, since it will most likely cost him the election this year.

krickitt-has there been any mention in the Tucson papers as to whether or not her husband is still going to fly a shuttle mission in April? It was my understanding he was scheduled to be one of the shuttle members.

I only heard on the news that NASA is preparing a replacement IF he cannot go. I was wondering how long the mission is going to take. From all I have heard about Gabby from those close to her I bet she would want him to go. She's probably got a long haul ahead. But who knows at this point? She is doing so well it would not surprise me if they take out the tracheotomy thing and she starts speaking. They have lots of family in Houston, and I am sure her AZ. family will be there also.

That's my guess too krickitt-in a short period (hopefully) she will be able to tell him to go. Live his dreams. Whether or not he goes is another matter.

I enjoy it when threads get semi-hijacked by a comic sideline running alongside the topic. Always have!! Cracks me up.

Just heard that Gabby has been scrolling through pics on an Iphone, and that she stood up today for the first time on her own, with help. Haven't heard anything yet about her trying to mouth words around the trach, which the docs said she may begin to do soon if she is able.

Does anyone know if the Fed court can bring the civilian cases, also?? I don't know.

Not to sidetrack the thread, but anyone notice there are people lighting theirselves up in Tunisia and Egypt the last few days? Several funeral pyres with gasoline emersion to get it going really good and hot. Tunisia, they are already demonstrating against the new Government...... I understand they had Gabby up and going for a "short walk" today. Short walk is probably from the bed to door, but it has to be taken as great news.

Remember, ignorance of a law does not lesson the charge against a defendent.
